Be honest, what was the last movie you saw at a movie theatre?

Hard mode: Saw it alone, and not with peers

Super hard mode: It was actually good

The Predator. Dumb garbage.

The last good movie was Mission Impossible Fallout. Saw it alone then saw it with friends. Now they want Cruise kino.

Im 37 years old and have never once been to a kinoplex alone and I go see at least 12-15 movies a year. Jesus Christ /tv/ is getting as bad as /r9k/. Why do I continue to rub elbows with you pathetic hambeasts?
>>
Why does going alone have such a stigma around it
>>
I saw Free Solo alone two weeks ago. Guy climbed 3000 ft no safety equipment. Docufilm.
>>
>>105806982
There's no reason for it.
You can watch everything in theaters right now in your own home.

District 9.

Same. Watched with pops.
>>
>doing recreational activities alone

>>105807048
I wanted to watch it with my dad but he was too busy so I just ended up going myself
>>
Incredibles 2 with my girlfriend at the time. Failed to convince current gf to see Halloween with me so I'll prob see it alone sometime.

I never ever saw a movie alone in theaters

I saw Venom. It was actually decent. We were both really surprised to find it adequate.

The First Man with my niece last night
>>

Blade Runner 2049

what's wrong with going alone tho? I have friends with whom on occasion I'd go to the theatre, but normally each
goes on their own. Who can arrange going to cinema together all the time anyway?
>>105806077
Touch of Evil btw, best Orson Welles' noir imo
>>
Mission Impossible: Fallout
>>
Theatre around the corner was playing High and Low
>>
>>105806077
Easy mode: Last Hobbit movie
Hard mode: I don't care so much about going to the theater or seeing new movies ASAP that I'd go alone. And I have no theaters near me showing old classics and such.
Super hard mode: Honestly can't remember

I don't get it. Do you need your mom to arrange pick up/drop off?
>>
>>105806077
"Climax" 2 weeks ago. It's not a movie, it is cinematic experience.
Anyway, I always go alone. Going with friends sucks. They talk, laugh and do something on smartphones. It's distracting and breaks immersion.
Generally waste of time. Socialise? Better to go for a drink.
>>
>>105807533
is it good? i'm not avid fan of queen.
>>
>>105806982

movies have a crowd and social element to them. So it seems strange on some level go seek that out when lacking the social skills to even have one friend willing go with you.

say it's a limited screening, then well if they're not available in this scenario I'd go alone
my point being that having someone to go with to the theatre is a good thing, but not a fucking prerequisite
>>
>>105806077
Bladerunner 2049. Next movie I'll go out to see will probably be Glass.
>>
>>105806077
I've never seen a movie alone at the theaters because I'm not a ginormous faggot.
>>
>>105806100
To watch a movie on BIG screen and with good audio?
Question is, why go with someone at all? Do YOU want to see the movie or do you want to see someone watching the movie and/or watching how you watch the movie?
>>
Peterloo
>>
What kind of loser sees a movie alone?
>>
I've never seen a movie alone at a movie theatre, maybe one day.
>>
>>105806100
Imagine wanting to watch a movie by yourself, but instead of torrenting and streaming to your living room, you drive somewhere else and pay money to sit in silence in a dark room with a bunch of strangers watching it instead.
>>
>>105807814
I agree that is the case with certain movies, definitely comedies and action movies. But for dramas and many “awards” movies having a crowd isn't as important. You don't need to go with a bunch of buddies and have a big crowd for movies like Her or Whiplash.

Venom

I saw dunkirk with friends at my local imax. they wanted to smoke before so we walked in 10 minutes late, and they just kept talking through the whole thing, despite it being a good film, especially in 70mm IMAX.

I came back the next week to watch it alone, no regrets
>>
First Man a few days ago
yes I went alone
>>

I was with my mom, but the last movie I saw at the theater was Sharkboy and Lavagirl when I was around 9.

BoRhap - even if you're not a fan, it was a very entertaining movie, which uses Queen tracks to narrate it.
