I thought this was a good movie but feminists seem to hate it since it promotes "rape culture"What is /tv/'s opinion?
majority of /tv/ is filled with females so they will hate it.It was a good movie though
It was rape
>>80687441>majority of /tv/ is filled with femalesthat can't be true
>>80687283it was pretty good i guesshow dare there only be one of those little capsules they're standing in front of though, bad writing
It was rape and anyone who likes it is promoting rape culture
>>80687909No its true/tv/ and /adv/ are infested with clams
It was abduction and mental abuse at the very least. I think you can argue it was rape, but its ok because hes hot and saves her later.
>>80688438>>80687850>>80688157The thing is it's very easy to say what he did was wrong. But imagine your in his position. After a year of total isolation I would bet almost anyone would do what he did
>>80688583Only normies would care about being alone. I was going through thinking this guys a fucking baby.
>>80688583So its ok if I abduct your daughter if I feel alone?Alright.
main character did something bad i donlt like this movie ;_;tumblr is that way --->
>>80688583Yes, what we did was unforgivable but also understandable. It's really similar to what Mann does in Interstellar. The movie was okay, I would have preferred if it were just Cast Away in space.
>>80687283thought it was gay and boring and retarded but its also gay and boring and retarded to think that just because an event happens in a movie it means its promoting it, eg apparently x-men apocalypse is sexist because the supervillain chokes a superheroine
>>80688199/x/ is the biggest floozie board on all of 4chan though
>>80688583>After a year of total isolation I would bet almost anyone would do what he didhe only woke her up because he was thinking with his dick and nothing else
>>80688792> Male protagonist in a romance is basically a rapist but its ok because there is a happy end.
>>80687283I 100% do not believe he with all the trim he chose Lawrence.Look at her, I doubt she is anyone's first choice ever.
>>80688936it must be boring only liking movies that portray a utopian fantasy where everyone gets their comeuppance
>>80688812>It's really similar to what Mann does in Interstellar. And Mann is rightly treated as the Villain.
>>80689051Not really capeshit is the most successful thing in the world. Lord of the Rings too.
>>80689191faramir never got his for getting all of his friends killed in a battle he knew he would lose, all for some daddy brownie points he never got
>>80689051I prefer a good depressing ending desu, but this is a romance/drama in space with a clicheed happy end and a rapist. It doesnt quite go together that well.
>>80689250>daddy brownie pointsare those the new tendies?
>>80687283This is retarded, you are retarded.
>>80688748Coming out of left field with something conepletely unrelated /tv/ at its finest
>rapeIt was abduction at best. The sex was clearly consensual
>>80687283well, I was indifferent to it but if feminists hate it I'll have to change my opinion it's kino tbqh
>>80688896If you actually watched the movie you would see its because he feel in love with her from the months and months of reading her writing.I agree what he did is wrong. But after a year in that ship I could easily see myself doing that.Futhermore if he was only thinking with his dick why would he pick someone as ugly and THICC as Jennifer Lawrence?
>>80689694>lovelove is a chemical imbalance to promote procreation aka dude was thinking with his dickliterally
>>80689789Then why didn't they have any children?
reminder that if he hadn't woken her up everyone on the ship would have been killed
>>80689915med pod abortions like what happened in prometheus
>I think a shit movie is good and if you disagree you're a [/pol/ boogeyman]another one of these threads
>>80689925If it wasn't for the distraction he would have figured some stuff out sooner.By the time the nigger got WOKE he could have said something was wrong with the ship immediately. This combined with the lack of female presence would have allowed the two men to fix the reactor before the officer died of radiation rape. The only difference between this movie and the movie Titanic is that in the movie Titanic Rose literally is responsible for Jack being dead.
>>80688583You see, a better ending would be that he didn't survive the vent. The whole situation was already implausible, and him surviving somehow makes it completely unbelievable. If they'd let him die, the theoretical question of "what would you do in his position" becomes super real for her. As mad as she was that he woke her up, that he "murdered her," would she be able to tolerate never again speaking to another person? Instead it cheaply rushes through her "I can't be here alone!" moment; she saves him; he can put her back to sleep; but no! she wants to be with him. She chooses him, after spending a few minutes contemplating life alone and conveniently being able to go back to sleep if she wants. It's better if there are tons of med pods (as there would be); he dies (as he really needed to); and it ends with her picking up some tools or with an empty shot and the sounds of another pod saying "hello" to somebody else.
>>80690011>people state literally SJW reasons for disliking a movie and if you point it out you're an alt right nazi
>>80689925>ends justify the meansno
>>80690011>>80689915Tbh I was expecting an ending where the crew wakes up to a few siblings in there 60's.No grandkids (maybe not directly but maybe implied grandkids for lol purposes)
Is it worth a watch even though the end apparently fucks everything sideways?
So wait, what the hell happened at the end. I didn't see it but spoiler my ass anyway
>people in the future don't live to their mid 100sthey should have been able to live
>>80690351they shit in the main lobby the rest of the trip and trees grow from it
>>80687283thought he was choking her at first from the catalogue thumbnail
A woman wouldn't say no in space ...because of the implication
>>80687283The whole point of the story is that in a situation that fucked up, traditional morality is pointless and what you should or shouldn't do is highly contextual, i.e., sophie's choice. He's so lonely that he just breaks, and yeah no shit if he could wake up anyone he's going to wake up someone he feels he can fall in love with rather than some dude. Obviously he was thinking of the full package of a relationship, which also includes romance and sex. Why in the fuck do SJWs act like wanting sex is a bad thing? It's necessary for mental well being.Equating it to rape is so fucking hilarious and wrong I have to believe it's trolling. A desperate man wakes up a woman in the hope of sparking something. Somehow that's the same as forcing her against her will to have sex? Jesus christ, can tumblrinas not deal with morally ambiguous situations, aka the real world?
>>80687283Decent premise that decided it needed an action climax and a fairytale ending.
>>80690860>Why in the fuck do SJWs act like wanting sex is a bad thing? It's necessary for mental well being. You're confusing sex with intimacy. Not having sex won't kill you, but not being able to connect emotionally with others will.
>>80690860>It's necessary for mental well being.Citation needed.
No one would have said shit if the roles were reverseJust like this.
>>80688896Seems realistic to me.

While I think it should have ended completely differently (maybe some more tragic elements) it really susprised me in many great ways.I didn't expect the plot to unravel the way it did, and unlike most movies were my wife and I discuss the acting, effects, or story, we spent hours afterwards discussing the morality of the situation. Was a deeper level of discussion than I expected to get out of this movie, and for that I give it an 8/10

>>80693343She had the option to take her life back
Would have been better if they dropped the captain nonsense and the extra sleep machine option, then just had JLaw continue to feel angry and cheated until she eventually kills Pratt, maybe with the spacewalk.Afterwards you get one of those JLaw the writer monologue scenes feeling lonely and shit with all kinds of shots of her living alone on the ship like Pratt in the beginning. Final scene she is checking out the pod of another Chad and reaches for the controls, cut to black and roll credits.
>>80695971this desu senpai desu
I didn't mind the movie but it was definitely creepy as fuck and went downhill when they just made Jlaw forget he creeped her the fuck out and forgive him for a generic race against time third actEven if she forgave him she should have taken that option to go back into cryo instead of staying with him.
