Isn't that an absolute?

you see it was intentional for obi wan to say that, because it justifies anakin's idea that maybe the jedi were hypocritical and not so good afterall
>>
>>92636043
No because obiwan is actually saying: chill out dude. We can come to a compromise. Stop being so violent. Take a second and think - only a sith deals in such absolutes as "you're either my friend or my enemy".
>>

Any other examples of poetry in the prequels?

Obi-Wan is a daft cunt like the rest of the Jedi Order.

Luke should have let Jedi have sex that probably would have solved a lot of problems

It's the tolerance paradox. The only way a society can be completely intolerant is to not tolerate anyone who isn't tolerant.

What? No, it's the other way around.
In order for a society to remain tolerant, it needs to intolerate the intolerant.

why did anakin have to say "from my point of view"

Anakin is also fearful in Ep II & III.

He is angry and hateful in all the Eps from II until his redemption in VI.

That's the point, Anakin is reaching out to Padme just like the poetry requires the audience to reach to understand it. It's poetic on narrative and metanarrative levels.

Fear is the root of the problem, hence why it persists through all the episodes. Similar for anger. It is debatable whether he hates anyone besides the sand people in Ep 2.

You realise the meaning of tolerance has been twisted, right? Tolerance means that you allow error so you can debate in the liberal fashion and edify people. without having to resort to violence. The way you are using it and the SJWs using it turns the meaning on its head and it is now a violent ideology.

True tolerance:
>I have my opinion, you have yours: we come together, disuses and come to the the truth
False tolerance:
>only the official opinion will be tolerated
>>
>>92636251

Am I crazy or could the prequels have been good if they had better directing (the actors were fine, their material was awful)? If George was just the writer and ideas man, could they have been kino?

>>
>>92636043
No he is talking about only being able to see and act in a binary manner i.e if your not with me than your against me.
In expanded lore this has another meaning as the Jedi themselves dealt in absolutes ( if you use the force you have to be a Jedi or are an enemy of the Jedi) and shows that the order is hypocritical about themselves.
>>
>>92638090
But ESB and RotJ weren't directed by Lucas.
>>
>>92638036
You're a leftist but can see the importance of argument. SJWs are just like the nihilist who shoots up his school: discourse is not an option.
>>
>>92638101
That scene in the bottom is weird. Not only does that massive weight come down on his leg but it also scrapes across the ground. If should have shredded his legs
>>
>>92638109
prequels are bad, nu-Disney wars sequels are bad, the only two actual great star wars movies are a new hope and empire strikes back (and even a new hope has been fucked up by special edition edits)
>>
>>92638125
>if you use the force you have to be a Jedi or are an enemy of the Jedi
You know I REALLY wish we saw more of this. Explain how Dooku was a ex-Jedi who became a Sith because the Jedi tried to destroy him. Show what happens to Jedi who abandon the order. Maybe the council sends bounty hunters after them to prevent them from starting their own unorthodox Jedi orders separate from their control.

Directing is bad. George is old, fat and lazy and only uses two cameras.
Script is bad. Dialogue is clunky and inelegant, but still better than the quipfest that is nu-wars.
Story is actually good. The basic plots of all three prequels could have made some really competent films. Phantom Menace is a bit of a mess but could be made to work.
Effects are good. CGI Yoda from RotS looks 10x better than "organic" puppet Yoda from TLJ
Characters look good, costume design is spot-on.
Actors are good, just given some really shoddy stuff. Only literal Shakespeareans like Sheev can make it work.

Somewhere in this mess lies 3 good Star Wars movies, but Lucas' desire to oversee every aspect of the project stunted their potential. Still fun, goofy movies.

This shit really stuck out to me. The characters are now talking directly about the themes of the movie. They're always talking literally about saving souls, we are hope, redemption, etc. Imagine if Luke had said to Vader "I'm here to save your soul, father." What a fucking hack.
