The series is basically over and I don't foresee any significant yuri content. No real need for a new thread.

I guess there's always the matter of how much sex Altair and Setsuna will have in their new world and what they'll populate it with.

Why?
Altair x Setsuna happens in their new world, Alice x Mamika happens in their story.
Other girls weren't yuri relevant so it wasn't as bad as I feared.

Anime has just ended. I didn't watch the whole thing. I guess it's safe to assume we got BTFO'd.

Anyone care to translate what it says on the poster / mural?
Wondering if it was some kind of collaboration story since the chapters were made by different people. Can't recall if they said Marimaka's creator was dead like our white haired girl's is...
>>
>>2429806
>The title of the movie is: "A bouquet of smiles for you"
>On the right side: "Please smile Alice-chan"
>On the left side: "Perhaps I wanted to become like Mamika..."
>At the top: "At the end of the encounter with the girl what will the knight..."
From /a/, the place were people did got BTFO
>>
>>2429811
As far as I know the only creators who are dead are Magane's (because she killed him) and Meteora's
I assume Meteora stayed behind because her world literally has no future.
>>
>>2429699
Ahhh why is it hidden under all those effects? I want a wallpaper of it.

>From /a/, the place were people did got BTFO
What were they expecting?
>>
>>2429699
im happy but how the fuck did they even know the relationship between the two.
>>
>>2429852
The manga specials that led up to the Elimination Chamber Festival? People needed to know about Mamika and Alice's relationship to understand why would Alice suddenly change sides.
>>
>>2429849
That someone stole Altair's win from her in the last ep.
That Aliceteria and Mamika didn't get >>2429699 anything like that.
And for Soda and notAmuro Ray to actually became relevant.
Also for some kind of big fight at the end, but that just some shonenfags that got lost on their way to the Boku no Hero Academia thread.
>>
>>2429852
Meteora's book.
I guess that in the end we really were the RE: Creators...
>>
>>2429852
Alice was secretly working with them at the end. And if nothing else she attacked Meteora because of Mamika's death, so they would have known she cared for her.

Still I found it hilarious that /a/ was expecting Alice to magically come back and become the waifu of her creator
>>
>>2429872
Takarada was really sad about all of it. Not that I am saying they should be together or anything but it would be nice to see her back at least.
>>
>>2429872
Tbqh that was 90% in the mind of the insane anti-yuri shitposter that was completely hung up on that retarded idea.
Most of the regular idiots wanted Soda to become the center of everything, a la Harem lead, but he never did.
>>
>>2429877
Takarada better write a lot of Alice x Mamika stuff.
>>
>>2429863
>Also for some kind of big fight at the end
Wasn't the final battle almost a quarter of the show? Are they disappointed that they couldn't out-hax Altair with the power of MANLY SHOUTING or freindship or something equally stupid?

Yeah, it's a fun show. It might not've totally lived up to the hype, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
>>
>>2461573
By "contaminated" do you mean all the moralfags complaining about Altair getting a happy ending and not facing any consequences for her actions?
>>
>>2462096
Yep, exactly. It's kind of ignoring the question the series asked whether it matters if a Villain gets a happy ending and escapes justice so long as it stops them from hurting any more innocent people. Kind of pisses me off.
>>
>>2462097
That reminds me of A Clockwork Orange. Everyone is so obsessed with punishing him and getting revenge that they show the same level of cruelty.
>>
>>2462148
I think it also shows that a lot of people care less about making sure the world and characters are saved and more that the antagonist is punished. The solution to Altair was entirely valid, now that she has her creator she won't have any reason to take out her anger on the normal world, especially now that she and Setsuna are going to literally live happily ever after. Had the heroes decided to focus on justice before anything else, not only is it likely they would have failed, but Altair would probably caused more suffering and trauma for even more people.
>>
>>2462154
Because people are way too used to black and white morality. Specially in anime.

There wasn't a clean solution for Altair's bullshit. The whole point was to stop here. It never was to punish or destroy her. People didn't care or wanted that.
>>
Another thing that people do not take into consideration is that the true "bad guys" of the story, was basically the people that pushed Setsuna to suicide, Altair's revenge is justified.
>>
>>2462408
They technically were "never punished" either, and yet you don't see anybody complaining about that... Makes you think that half the reason Altair is so hated is that she's strong in a story about showing how crossover fights by definition cannot be fair, and also the fact she's implied to be gay for her creation.
>>
>>2462426
the fights worked well, they really showed that each character is strong in its own way, the problem is Altair was literally inflated by Hype and fandom, the fault would also be the same people who killed Setsuna.
It is also the typical hypocrisy that idolize characters like Kirito, Light Yagami, Goku or Saitama, people are really angry that she is a woman who got a happy Yuri ending , if she had been a man, no one would complain.

I think this studio has the talent to trolling normalfags for silly things.
>>
Ok, I hadn't even heard of this anime before seeing this thread because I'm always behind but what i'm getting is
>villain is driven to destroy the world because of her love for her creator
>is extremely overpowered, heroes can't even begin to touch her
>gets a happy ending, doesn't receive any sort of comeuppance for her actions
Holy shit, this anime sounds tailor-made for me.
>>
>>2462702
Pretty much.
>>
>>2462702
She also saves her creator. I like how the moralfags on /a/ love to disregard that fact.
>>
>>2462835
Don't forget, whenever the moralfags are like "But what about Mamika!!" they're ignoring that Mamika's literal last wishes was for Alice to save Altair. Killing her just because she was sad and vengeful would have gone against Mamika's ideals in almost every way, meaning the desire for justice against Altair would be just as futile and empty as Alice's eventual attempt anyway.
>>
>>2462702
If there's one character who deserves a comeuppance, it would be Magane. Seriously, why was she treated like a dark hero and sorta redeemed in the end? It looks like they forgot that she actually killed two human people, one of them being her own creator.
>>
>>2462702
Yeah that pretty much sums it up.

Re:Creators may have been meh overall, but the salt those last few episodes caused was glorious.
>>
>>2462950
But anon! Most of Magane's pairing/sexual teases were straight! Only Lesbians get villified by the fanbase!
>>
>>2462869
let's be honest, Mamika was an idiot for what she did, there are better ways to convey an idea, besides she also chose really badly his last words.

>>2462950
>>2462969
We also forget that she is still alive in the real world, doing who knows, people do not care.

It reminds me of an Anime where a character killed the sister of the MC and people act as if she were the best thing in the world just because she is an official partner with the MC. Het and Yaoi forgive them everything.
>>
>>2462950
>>2463049
Didn't the creators say Magane would go on to keep making people miserable across the world? Meanwhile everyone's up in arms that Altair is just living a happy life not hurting anybody. It's kinda sad how transparent the lesbophobia is with the reactions to the finale.
>>
>>2463053
It reminds me of certain Anime Yaoi and the villain abused his brother and his ex-partner, besides being a horrible person. The people love him.
>>
>>2463053
>lesbophobia
it just left a stronger impression because it was the focus of the ending, don't assume it's some form of prejudice so easily.
>>
>>2463078
Right.../a/ really likes lesbianism...totally...
>>
>>2463078
Fair enough. I'm just quick to assume because, well, it's /a/.
>>
>>2463082
/a/ is one thing, there's some few very vocal shitposters in there.
You can't even be sure that they actually have something against lesbians, just might be the usual autism that craves for attention no matter what form it is.
>>
At least Meteora got to live happily ever after with the government lady.
>>
>>2463103
Did all the Sota/Meteorafags respond negatively to being cucked like thta or were they still too busy raging autistically at Altair's ending?
>>
>>2463106
I think the Sotafags in general were annoyed every time their supposed Sota love interest proved to go completely away from him. Altair is Setsuna's creation, not his, check. Celesia dies while declaring her love for Charon, check. Setsuna goes to live with Altair in the yuriverse forever and Sota himself has no problem with this, check. I think that last one was simply the straw that broke the camel's back that prevented them from losing it over Meteora. They were already losing it over Altair.
>>
>>2463118
The way the production team of this animu trolled the usual tropes, blank slate MC in particular was godly.
>>
>>2463121
I agree. It's like all the /a/ shitters didn't realize what they meant when they said ti was going to be a reverse Isekai. Reverse in almost every trope's direction.
>>
>>2463126
Some anons on /a/ were legit confused all the way through after the first few eps.
There was a retarded fuck making fanfiction about Sota fighting Altair all around the God of Ink song...and the usual 'Which Win Won' faggots got btfo so hard with Altair winning...it was a glorious sight.
>>
>>2463126
>reverse Isekai
I just realized that's why Altair is so OP. Isekai protagonists almost always start off as or become so overpowered basically every enemy is no challenge to them. Just look at Overlord for instance. That's fucking brilliant. The fact that /a/ couldn't handle it in the hands of an antagonist shows that all they care about is self-insert power fantasies, it's hilarious.
>>
>>2463132
There wouldn't happen to be a collage of this salt somewhere, is there?
>>
>>2463099
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out if people on /a/ genuinely hate yuri or if people are just trolling, because it makes no sense why so many guys would hate it.
>>
>>2463305
It's 4chan. People generally post their actual opinions.
>>
>>2463307
You don't truly believe that, do you?
even if some people do, most don't, most are just baiting for replies.
You can basically tell those who are doing that or are actually serious.
>>
Was that Setsuna the real one or a creation? Does it even matter in the end?
>>
>>2463305
You're kind of ignoring the machismo alpha-beta culture /a/ likes to perpetuate, what with their abundant love of haremshit or series where a more action-oriented female character becomes housewifey to the male protagonist. Yuri offends them because it's extremely hard to muscle their masculine dominance complex into it. They get especially pissed off at stuff like Murcielago, where one of the lesbians is shown to be exceptionally dominant with several masculine traits of their own. Probably another aspect of the Altair hate.
>>
>>2463352
It's ambiguous in the end, it's why they don't have Meteora go "i'm right, bitch" or "i was wrong, bitch." It's designed to be left to viewer interpretation, though I'm more inclined to believe that it was the real Setsuna because Magane's bullshit + acceptance could genuinely allow reality-defying things to potentially happen.
>>
>>2463353
>Probably another aspect of the Altair hate.
If I recall, in the midst of the late-series ins/a/nity, some shitters were even unreasonably pissed off that Altair's design had so many masculine elements and was pretty much completely un-sexualized.

Yeah, I checked out Tv Tropes before finishing the series and holy shit, I expected the last episode to be more bittersweet because the Tearjerker page for the series says that Matsubara and Takarada were wallowing in angst and I didn't get that vibe from their scene at all. That was just a hilariously bad take on that scene.

Don't forget all the people acting like Altair "trapping" Setuna is somehow a fate worse than death when it's clear they'll just have a loving relationship in the new world. I'm guessing it's the people who think Setsuna should be with Sota or some crap.
>>
I've just watched this and it was pretty good, episode 21 especially was amazing.

>>2463352
>Was that Setsuna the real one or a creation?
The conversation between Sota and Meteora at the graveyard seemed to heavily imply that it was the real Setsuna all along, which is why the world was so desperately trying to get rid of her again and why Altair had to take her away to the alternate world, because her resurrection was a contradiction and made no sense, but >>2463354 like this anon says, they had Meteora stop herself short of saying it outright in order to add a bit of ambiguity to it I guess.
>>
>>2463308
>You don't truly believe that, do you?

For the majority of non straight up shitposts, yes, I do. I do believe that people on this site are as stupid as they post. Me included.
>>
>>2466334
You must be getting too used to a place like /u/.
true, small boards do have people mostly speaking their minds, but in the big boards like /v/ and /a/ it's a rarity instead.
it's mostly bandwagoning and hive mind mentality.

Yet I assume (of course) they do, or at least end up believing what they say. Unless all of reddit, tumblr, facebook, whateverthehell is all fake, too, I see no reason to assume it's any different here.
Guilty until proven innocent, in the case of (major) public communities/forums.

I'm sorry, I don't want to derail too horribly, so I'm going to stop now.

I can understand why people were so salty over Altair and how her story ended, but literally all those same reasons are why I loved her. Altair just ended up being deeply satisfying to the part of me that never grew up from my edgy teen phase. Bonus points for being gay enough for me to pick up with my yuri goggles.

I finished this just yesterday and damn, all the /u/ I got from it was a pleasant surprise, I totally wasn't expecting it, especially after just picking it up on a whim. I'm sad about >>2432455 these two but holy shit was that ending with endless yuriverse just gay as fuck. What Altair pulled off really does remind me of Homura but with the difference that it's just the two of them and Setsuna is fully aware of this and consents.

Also, I really enjoyed pic related's scene.
>tfw you will never be dominated by a ridiculously OP OC donusteel

Kinda disappointed this was apparently a flop in sales though, else I'd demand something like this >>2432751 or have at least some hope for a spinoff SoL OVA with all the cast or something like that.

I'm back from finishing the series and while I see some of the flaws /a/ was raging about, it was a fun ride. This thread, though, really didn't prepare me for the gayness in episode 21. While watching the part that included the picture, I honestly had to stop watching a few times because of how intimate the scene got. I got embarrassed because I felt like a voyeur. Especially when Altair started fucking whispering.

Funnily enough, I have always assumed that in sequel to Rebellion, that in the end Homura and Madoka would get an ending similar to what Altair and Setsuna got in Re;Creators and what Aaeru and Neviril got in Simoun, where they fuck off to god's know where.

Did Altair and Setsuna get married after the ending? This is important.
>>
>>2471496
They created their own universe. They can just say they did, and who could argue? They are gods to anyone who else who lives in their universe.
>>
>>2471496
They got married during the ending, anon. Altair uses her violin to create a cathedral setting, and the cameras were cut off right as they were about to say their vows. I'm sure Altair also created a very nice place for them to honeymoon afterwards.

That's a very long term plan. I think I'll just buy merch for now.

Just finished this and ep 21 (22 too?) feels like payback for parts of the show that should have been there but weren't. It's kinda disappointing since the show started off really strong, and then came tumbling down when characters talk more than they emote. And god those untimely preachy bits about creator creating that pauses the flow. Also the non-existent world doom countdown that's vaguely there and everyone's saying it's probably gonna be soon but they don't exactly act as if they were getting annihilated. And that fucking timeskip where they just magically merged all the works without upsetting the audience somehow. Maybe I'm too picky but I saw potential for this show to be something close to a masterpiece with its original premise and anime meta elements, so it's sad to see that it got wasted. At least there're some good /u/ pairings

Very bad observation.

Eh, I don't know. I watched all of it in 2 days so the recap parts are tiring and I don't have hype to go along with it. Would have been a super fun series to watch while airing though

I have heard some of your points a number of times but problem is they are moot without you showing examples, especially the bit about the potential. Handling a cast this large is tough given the time and I think they all get their share of important moments despite that. Discussing them ends up being a complete waste of time since there's no substance or a will to convince the other side. If you enjoyed the show and like the characters, that's good for me.
>>

>merged all the works without upsetting the audience somehow
This is one thing that never made much sense to me. Do people ever complain that there's no way Cloud, Mario, Bayonetta, and Megaman would be in the same setting when they play Smash Bros 4?
>>
>>2477659
Don't get me wrong, I liked the show and its characters, just that it could have been done better. It got some good stuff in there but too many mehs

>>2477662
For games like ssb4 they didn't have a lead up story of all those franchises coming together. The show mentioned that additional materials were published for each work to connect to the story of "go fight the baddie" in the crossover liveshow, so I was expecting some explaining (even silly ones) of how like grimdark fantasy setting knight is now going to fight against a side with gundam, hot-blooded teen with supernatural spirit etc. I thought they wouldn't show the authors spending so much time arguing whose ideas work with crossing over the franchises without telling the audience how it was approximately done
>>
>>2477681
>so I was expecting some explaining

Your expectations have nothing to do with what the story was trying to say. Re:Creators was abut how people create art and not about any specific story on the show. That's why you only got the necessary bits to understand every character view point and nothing else.

I don't know how people could miss something that is drilled to you almost every single episode.

I started reading this thread to figure out if I'd want to watch this and now I feel like I understand less about it than when I started.

It sounds like there is side het but does it interfere with the main pair? The ending sounds very gay but in general is it worth watching for the /u/?
>>
>>2478748
>in general is it worth watching for the /u/?

No.
>>
>>2478748
There is no smut, or anything beyond handholding but /u/ wins really hard in the end.
>>
>>2478748
>in general is it worth watching for the /u/?
No, but it's worth watching for the action scenes and an interesting take on the crossover battle royal show. Also Maaya Sakamoto's voice acting. The yuri is just the icing on the cake.
>>
>>2478748
>It sounds like there is side het
Pretty big ending spoiler, but...
The hetero pair kill each other

I watched for Altair. I love hammy villains and she delivered in the little screentime she got.

Have any lewd Altair/Setsuna doujins popped up yet? It's already been two months.

if we get even one in forever it will already be more than I expected.

I loved it when her facade would crack and she would go on her Hitler-esque rants. She really didn't get enough screentime.
