Why did it flopped hard?
>>
>>2437020
It was the same story and shit gameplay oh and fan service.
>>
>>2437020
Because Arnice isn't with Lilysse
>>
>>2437020
They focused on adding as many waifus as possible while completely ignoring any criticism and suggestions from the fans who played the first game, and also ignoring the few aspects that made it worth playing.
The gameplay looks even more tedious than the first one, and I heard that there's a time limit so you're forced to rush the fuck out of it. Seriously, what were they thinking?
>>
>>2437034
Chaos Legion: yuri edition is one of the things people like about the first game, don't know why they abandon that.
>>
>>2437020
Adding a ton of waifu's yet railroading you to the default girl as the only real romantic option was a really boneheaded decision, for starters.

>>2437034
There was a time limit in the first game as well. Why they didn't get rid of that was anyone's guess.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that because it wasn't that bad, I was always able to finish everything in time.
>>
What anon likes to forget is the first game didn't come out like gangbusters either. International sales picked up the slack
>>
>>2437077
Time limit was only a problem in HoID (which I think is also removed in NoA2)
>>
>>2437101
First game sold way more than 30k on the first week in Japan. Like double of that.
Also, NoA2 was doing well in preorders (pic related), then it released and bombed.

What makes it even more impressive is that they started off with a really good set up for a love triangle and passed on that first.
>>
>>2437198
That's because they thought it was actually a sequel and not 1.5 or reboot

Oh yeah, no fanservice here
I just love anon just making up reasons that suit them. It probaby didn't sell simply because of how much it was delayed. Delays hurt games. They hurt consumer confidence in the product. Plain and simple.
>>
>>2437070
>railroading you to the default girl as the only real romantic option

Wait really? Bleeeeh.
>>
>>2437513
There's no doubt it would sold better if it didn't get delayed twice, the delays definitely killed any momentum the first game had built.
But that the gameplay wasn't much improved would also lower the sales as well.

So I've heard of NoA recently because someone said it's yuri. Everyone is bashing on NoA2 so I don't think I'm playing it, but is the first one any good?
>>
>>2437781
Sequel only came out in Japan a month ago and it's very unlikely anyone here has actually played it yet. The first game goes for around $20 in America, so there's no reason not to give it a shot. Its aesthetic makes it perfect to play around this time of year too.
>>
>>2437781
NoA is good, which is why people care. Nobody here has played NoA2 yet, there's just one really dedicated shitposter.
>>
>>2437799
Well some people do know how to read japanese and import FYI.
>>
Yeah it's not like it's hard to find jp reviews either.

That's what I thought, thank you for the answer.
>>
>>2437781
Played the first one, I got the best ending but did not 100% the game. Here's what I thought of it:

Pros:
>Yes, the relationship between the two mains passed platonic
>I really like the character designs
>Story was pretty good
>Stages were pretty short, which is pretty good because there's not too much depth to them
>Arena does provide some challenge and more thought went into actually designing those than the stages, but it's entirely optional

Cons:
>Game is a bit too easy. I had trouble controlling the camera and seeing what was going on for half the game and still had no trouble. Gets a bit challenging if you go for the best end though
>Quest System was boring as hell, just variants of "Go to X location" and defeat "Defeat a certain number of X enemies". Luckily, this is never actually required
>I don't think much thought went into stage design, it's mostly just "beat mobs and move on" without much else. It's not too bad since most stages are pretty short

Overall, I enjoyed the game. The main issue with the game seems to be they put a lot of options into the combat system (switching weapons, dodge cancelling, different combos, etc.) without actually making the game hard enough for me to care about any of that.

If this game didn't have yuri in it, I probably still would have enjoyed it, but wouldn't think much of it afterwards.
>>
I've played NoA2 already and I like it.
Time limit was crazy first but after a while you'll get used to it. I managed to get all lilies blooming in my second run, I'm in my third run now, actually just for collecting all trophies. Still missing 2, save data says I'm at 54+h atm.
DLCs aren't worth, Puni is strong in the beginning but I never used it in the latter parts. The servan leveling system was a bit disappointing (liked the system in the first game more) since their level resets after new game+ (but their evolution level stay). Also, mana in this game is totally useless, I've barely used it. Mainly just for healing your accompany or restoring some mana of your servans to use their attacks. Could be helpful if you play in extreme mode though (yes there's an extreme mode which unlocks after the first clear, basically the mobs hit harder and you deal less damage to the bosses).
The lily stories were pretty fun, though sadly they end either in unrequited love because surely everyone likes MC, or just lead to nowhere (well, it was good in Arnice's case). Got quite some info in Arnice's lily stories and in the ending sequence she goes eastwards to search for Lilysse together with Christ. Still have to read their text walls in the collection section which I neglected so far.
The lily gameplay was pretty fun too, I don't know why people are complaining about the gameplay. The attack patterns were a lot more diverse than in the first game and depending on your lily, you have to use some combos more often (like one that ups the combo chain if you play with Camilla, so you meet the 120/90chain condition for her Double Chase attack). You can also use some servans that change into a weapon, though I've mainly just used one of them.
Though maybe some people just had higher expectations or didn't like the fact that the love interest was already set from the start.
>>
>>2437853
>unrequited
Who? Rue?
>>
>>2437854
I'd say Eleanor (because she made Aluche some special Valentine's chocolate), Rue obviously (well, she's more like the tsundere here) and Veruschka wants to be alive again thanks to Aluche (though you can interpret is as you want).
>>
Leaving aside the disappointment of "only one romantic option", just how good is that one? How far does the main romance go?

Knowing them the port will also fuck up on PC before some patches, I'm gonna wait for price to drop and for patches to come out.

I dislike being rushed in the game, in first game I didn't feel the time limit at all, so I hope it's not worse in this, it's a bit sad to force the players to speed the gaming up.

Lilysse was kidnapped by the Queen of the Moon. At the end of the game Arnice goes to save her for a sequel that may never come.
>>

That's just great. Not as bad as I feared, but ultimately annoying enough to make playing it through to the end a disappointment. I'm a fucking idiot for yuri so I'll probably keep my collector's edition pre-ordered anyway but I'm not happy about it.

What this game lacked to top the fanservice was a bedroom/swimming pool minigame where Aluche gets to hold sex orgies with party members she maxed her lily rank with every night, giving bonus effects the next night.
With bonus Chris when maxing out Arnice's meter.

>>

It's true. Arnice couldn't get satisfied by Lilyesse's boring human techniques after Chris held a symphony between her legs.
>>
>>2443823
Maybe wait until it's out in the US and people who aren't anonymous trolls can give you an honest option
There are some anons who seem to be dead set on hating it no matter what without ever playing it or ever gaining te intention of playing it while others think they know everything there is to know about it after watching someone play it in Japanese on Youtube
>>
>>2437020
Because the gameplay is meh, could had used more polish, could had done something similiar to Persona, SMT, or classic JRPGs. Instead its a mindless hack and slash. The gameplay is why it flopped.

>>2437021
Gameplay sucks, and story is meh, the fanservice is the only thing going for it really.

Story wasn't bad but it certainly was lacking....in yuri. Gust could had stepped up their game and make this game about some lesbians kicking ass. Instead its much more subtler than even the first game. It can hardly be called "yuri." Its why its so unsatisfying.
>>
>>2444029
I keep saying this, but I really wish they got Team Ninja to help out with the development instead of the Musou team. Nioh has shown they still have what it takes to make a good hack'n slash experience, having NoA2 with even a fraction of that level of quality would've made it an absolutely amazing game.
>>
>>2444067
Shut the fuck up and learn English properly, troll.
>>
>>2444071
I'm going to get banned for telling someone to stop being a troll? Top-tier modding right there especially since said troll has done nothing but bash a game that hasn't even come out in the West yet.
>>
>>2444079
Simply because it didn't sell as well as the first doesn't automatically mean it "bombed", smart one. Only if it fails to recoup the costs to make it does it count as "bombed". Just because it didn't sell as well as Gust expected due to how the first game did doesn't mean it's automatically a bomb. Now are you actually going to learn how to English or are you going to continue to be stupid?

>>
If there ever is a sequel, I really hope Arnice somehow ends up together with Lilysse no matter how unlikely that is. Hope the devs know that NoA more liked and would go back to that formula again. Can someone clarify who Alushe ends up with? Or was it literally a harem where you get to choose your own girl?
>>
>>2444433
>Arnice somehow ends up together with Lilysse
If a 3rd game miraculously gets made and this doesn't become their main goal then Gust is literally asking to go bankrupt.
>>
So..uh...no Nights of Azure 3....?
>>
>>2444465
NoA2 isn't even out in the West yet, and just released in Japan. They'll probably wait for finalized opening sales numbers before even considering if they should start the next game's development. It's not a large enough title where the name alone could carry sales numbers with another sequel in mind.
