Anyone know if there's any yuri in Death End Request?I know the mc is a guy but I was wondering if there was yuri or subtext with any of the secondary characters and such
If I only plan to play one nep game which should it be?
>>2831432Re;birth 1. The Verify is strong
>>2831432Re;birth1 or VII they are both great and explain everything.
>>2831432Probably Victory. Just not Rebirth 1. Rebirth 1 has too much grind. And if one thing is really fucking annoying and horrible in Neptunia, then it's fucking grind. The games are already full of recycling and fairly uninteresting gameplay. No need to make it even worse. But I guess that's what happens if you outsource shit.
>>2831880Isn't Victory the game you have to jump a thousand times with each character to unlock some extra voices? Talk about grind.
>>2831889That's like all their games, other than maybe the oldest one? And no, you do that for stats. Luckily that part is super optional and super irrelevant in all cases I know.
>>2831902Well to be fair if you just want to play the story there really isn't any grind in Re;birth1 either. I understand that a lot of people want to level grind early to have an easier time, but you really don't have to if you buy/use items. The only challanging fight I remember was the first Black Heart fight and that one is pretty easy if you just buy 3 life rings for your party.
>>2831912I don't know what you are talking about, but I literally dropped the game, because it was a grindfest. First you get into a normal dungeon, where the boss is fine, but then it feels like a dungeon is skipped and you immediately get a second boss. This boss is strong enough that it feels like you have to lose. Once you are strong enough for this boss, the dungeon and other boss before it are a fucking joke. And it doesn't get better afterwards.Neptunia was never particularly great, as far as gameplay goes. But Rebirth 1 is just dumb. Maybe it's easier once you hit the middle part or so, but honestly, fuck that. Rebirth 1 is a dumb idea anyway. I still don't understand why they changed the story in the remake for the one game where it was actually good.
>>2831914Re;Birth1 has some fights early on that you are supposed to lose, but you are probably talking about something different. The general story wasn't changed all that much actually, they just changed the dialog a lot and made the goddesses a lot friendlier to each other, which is a good change if you ask me. I think you should give it another try, there are some cute scenes in there that are really worth it.
>>2832669also a reminder of how biased is the page of Neptunia in Tvtropes.
>>2832887I say it as something bad, the Yuri part of the games is mentioned very little (or not directly mentioned) and any other aspect (even more irrelevant) has more mention.
>>2832887Protip: if someone mentions tvtropes out of the blue, don't reply, it's a repetitive, retarded ESL known for bringing up off-topic shit. He can also be recognised from his broken English (since he runs his posts through Google Translate) and his Saki reaction images.>>2832953Case in point.
time for more of best couple
>>2833041>Anon still believes that he is smart>>2833090>>2833143when I remember these two, but I get upset with TVtropes, the two have a really beautiful moment in Uni's game and it is not mentioned in that stupid page (as far as I know)but they did not stop with Nowarina small question, is there any way of looking for the scenes in the games on YouTube, in Japanese and with subtitles in English? there is no indicative and I end up finding the scenes with the dubbing and it's a bit annoying.
>>2833398It was Blanc no Uni's game. What happened to that crossover game, something that matters?
>>2833402I haven't play it but I saw a screenshot of Nepgear saying something like "I feel sorry for onee-chan but I can finally have you (mc) all for myself" and it disgust me to see that because I'm a nepcest shipper. So yeah, I wouldn't touch it even for the fem mc.
>>2833437The MC is supposed to be a girl, but it's a bit silly anyway. I really hate that these franchises take this route and when you realize it, they become another senran kagura.
>>2833437proof.Even in PP, Nepgear loves her sister the most and doesn't give shit to the self insert. Gacha game is disgusting and shouldn't be exist.
>>2833398>anon still thinks he can speak english using google translate
>>2833446nobody thinks about Uni>Gacha gameI forgot the focus of the game, does it get worse or at least there is something decent? the "chaos" forms were not as popular (among the normal art) as I expected it to be.>>2833470cries more child
>>2833510>cries more childThanks for proving my point with your broken English.
I want to see Nep and Noire doing sister-swapping.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlTWYh7_enUCompile Heart's Yuri Vita game coming to PC and Switch. Nep and Noire were bonus characters.
>>2835299>Compile Heart>YuriA combination that never seems to work out.Expecting the usual shameless waifu-fag pandering with few, inconsistent bones thrown at the yuri crowd.
>>2835355frankly I was going to say the same, but seeing that the game apparently had already left (I think) I thought there was more information available.
>>2835299This is not yuri though, latest CH's attempt was Mary Skelter 2 which failed. I sincerely hope the Switch audience receives their games positively, I fear for their future.
>>2835376>latest CH's attempt was Mary Skelter 2wait, MS2 had yuri?I never even played the first one because it looked like pure waifufag-bait
>>2835376Now I have genuine curiosity
I don't think CH's problem is lack of trying, it's just that they don't really "get" yuri; the incoherent bits they usually deliver are probably genuine attempts on their part.Take the obvious gay characters from HDN, the likes of Red/Million Arthur/K-Sha/Chika... Those are the way I imagine CH sees yuri, hot girls lusting after hot girls in an almost caricatural manner for the enjoyment of the horny male crowd. It's the kind of depiction of yuri that you could see coming from people who are used to crafting the most fickle kinds of romance, such as het harems, which are CH's bread and butter. The rare times they succeed, such as the cute shippable UniGear moments, are the times when they actively try to tone down the yuri in favor of friendship and character development, since those are main characters that they must make sure maintain plausible deniability for their waifu-fag target audience.
>>2835376>Which failedYuri games just don't sell. Arland games are flops, NoA2 was a flop, Lilycycle was a flop etc.
>>2835896Funny that you didn't mention NoA1 which was Gust's best selling game in a long time.Oh right, it's because you're shitposting.
>>2836041I also forgot to mention Blue Reflection, which was also a flop. NoA1 was the exception, but the sequel only confirmed this theory.
>>2836223>but the sequel only confirmed this theory.<==>>2835880>since those are main characters that they must make sure maintain plausible deniability for their waifu-fag target audience. It's sad how to do those nonsense and not scare an idiotic audience, really good narrative possibilities are lost.
>>2836855>It's sad how to do those nonsense and not scare an idiotic audienceLearn English, you spic.
>>2836897It was a quite weak subtext, but it wasn't het pandering shit, so it failed. It isn't that hard to understand, anon.
The moon reads that she's calling out "sister... sis.." or something like that, I think.
>>2836955If Blue Reflection failed, there are definitely reasons for that. Not being straight harem or whatever is definitely NOT one of them. Not like anyone who doesn't know Japanese would even realize what made the game interesting. The localization was absolutely horrible. As in, a LOT worse than what Gust games usually get. And in case you don't know: The "normal" quality of Gust localizations isn't that great either. Just usually they don't completely change the atmosphere and overall style of everything, but only mistranslate a bunch of things, including rather game critical stuff.
Is black heart the only het game in series? Is it necessary to play the others?
>>2844583There is also PP, it was shit too.All of the spin-offs are entirely self contained.
>>2844633PP is not that bad
Imagine a yuri eroge with Tsunako art
>>2827672I guess Noire is trying it out.
>>2853552Is this real?
>The OVA is titled Chō Jigen Game Neptune The Animation: Nepu no Natsuyasumi (Nep's Summer Vacation)https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2019-03-30/hyperdimension-neptunia-franchise-gets-new-ova/.145205Cant tell how yuri it will be though.
>>2853561That trailer tells us nothing so I'm not getting exited just yet.
>>2853561>>2853583Probably fanservice stuff judging from the title. Maybe some yuri teasing here and there, but probably some pseudo-het as well, like tentacles and such.
>>2853609Considering how mild the anime was on the yuri topic (seriously nothing besides that tsun Noire in ep 1 and Vert being a siscon) I wouldn't get my hopes up. My greatest fear is that they use the chance to add some of the VR segments, considering it's a big Neptune Ova and she got the spotlight in VRII. We don't even know the runtime though, but I think we'd look forward to new neptunia games instead of this ova.
Are food sharing and blushing IF gay enough?
>>2853814Now you have my attention.
>>2853609for some reason it reminds me of "senran kagura" that had an anime that helped the newcomers, then an OVA fanservice that was basically just for game fans and S2 badly done... I just hope this does not end the same.>>2853814yay>>2853561I just hope they do not ruin it and take advantage of the potential that Anime left out.
>>2861053N-chan? N for Nep? She has her own chan?

>>2863707That is the logical conclusion to this scene.
VertxIf hairstyle swap
>>2863778>Flat Uni turning into booby UniWhy?
>>2866330Uni has quite possibly the most variable chest size in all of Neptunia. Even without going to hdd mode, sometimes they're drawn to be quite modestly sized, other times they're basically nonexistent. What gives?
>>2866838I'm sure it has something to do with the PSP's varying size over the years.
>>2866838Even in the game it's not consistent. Her 3D Model is qute stacked but she looks smaller in CG.>>2866996That's an explanation.
>>2867037I wouldn't say that's stacked yet. It's very flat. It's probably just another case of an artist drawing characters to their liking, rather than how they actually are. It's not that rare.
>>2866838>>2867037That's true for Nepgear too. I remember them only being 1cm apart, yet Nepgear is most often depicted as some titty monster.
>>2862879>neppitThat name just makes me think of Nep's pits.
>>2867216Clearly neppit is hosted by Lastation with Noire as admin.
Fluffy NepNowa is the best.
>>2885514Of course, specially if they follow their sisters' example.
>>2885590Nepgear looks like Yorihime with that bow and ponytail.
>>2885598This is probably not an accident.

>>2911923Is it any fun? I hear it's quite basic and unpolished.
>>2914152Brings back memories. Noire from the very first Neptunia was already a big cat fan. Probably not THOSE cats, but you know.
>>2914119I didn't find it fun but it's gay
>>2908841You cheating on Uni with Iffy, Nepgear?
>>2914119>it's quite basic and unpolishedthat's every neptunia game
I thought Super Neptunia RPG was actually pretty decent. The 2D sprites look and move great. Combat is easy but fun enough as long as you use the fast forward button (the regular flow is piss slow) and its fantastic to see Purefoire again. That said, like mentioned in this thread, the game is horribly unpolished and would benefited from someone playing the game before shipping it out. The fast travel points are inconsistent (for example, you can fast travel to a place but then that place has no fast travel point so if you clicked wrong place haha fuck you, now you gotta walk to the nearest fast travel point to get where you actually need to be). Quests can be ambiguous in what to do, sometimes giving hints, usually not. One of the worst things about quests is that sometimes the quest details don't even mention where the original quest giver is even located, so you might complete a quest but have no idea where to turn it in to, this is amplified by the fact that some quest givers are in dungeons and unmarked on maps. Once you turn in the quest the NPC just stands there and says "...", seriously couldn't you guys just remove these sprites from the map if you couldn't bother to give them post quest dialogue? There can be a lot of different enemies in an area, but the spawn rates heavily favor one or two out of like 10 different mobs, so if you have a quest for one of the not commonly spammed mobs you're in for a grind if you wish to complete it, especially if the quest asks for not guaranteed drops from the rare mobs (seriously, I could clear an entire dungeon of enemies and somehow only run into 3 unique mobs out 10). You can't see how much AP skills consume when setting them so you can only figure it out by using them in battle. You can't see a list of skills you have and what formations they're usable in so you just have to go through every formation until you find your new skills. The game is missing so much quality of life stuff, even by Nep standards.
>>2914941Also when you save it has a typo in "save sucesful". HOW DO YOU MISS THATSometimes dialogue boxes are cutoff (I was playing full screen 1080p). Some scenes have no textboxes and therefore not translated so if you're playing Japanese audio you just sit there twiddling your thumbs or just skip the scene because you can't understand what they're saying. The game is 2D but it's not clear what stuff you can jump on and what stuff are just part of the background. Rarely, some spots are 2.5D, like in laststation where there's a split in the road and you can use both paths, but again its ambigious when an area has 2.5D and when you can really only use 1 road and the other is the background.
>>2914941>>2914944At this point it seems that the characters is what holds the franchise more than the games.
>>2914941Thanks for the review. Is the combat more like a button combo-based system like Valkyrie Profile or a turn based one like Super Mario RPG? I watched a gameplay video and I wasn't sure what was going on other than the player pressing Square to attack with Nep until everything died, and sometimes Blanc healed. Also, I thought the game marketed itself as being inspired by SNES RPGs, but the pastel palette and 2.5D movement system really reminds me more of PS1 RPGs like Legend of Mana.
>>2914969Honestly, I can't agree with this statement because 1) Neptunia treats its characters terribly. So many characters are introduced in each game and then basically never used ever again. and 2) Neptunia has always been the guilty pleasure series of mines since it always had low production value and low expectations. If anything VII had the best production value in the whole series so I wouldn't say the series is going in a decline.>>2914977I haven't played neither so I'll just describe the system. It's not really turn based because you don't have "turns" in game (tho usually the player and enemy can't attack at the same time). Basically you and the enemy have an AP gauge that slowly fills throughout the battle in real-time. Your party shares one AP gauge, when it's adequately filled you can choose which team member will spend it on a move, each member being assigned a single move with varying AP costs before the battle (thus you can have entire battles where only 1 team member actually attacks since they're always spending all of the AP gauge). If you hit an enemy's weakness some of the AP gauge is restored so that's how you can get a constant stream of attacks out. Otherwise you'll do something like throw out an attack, wait for AP gauge fill, attack, wait, and so on
>>2914991That does sound different from both of the examples I cited so thanks for clearing that up. That would explain why Noire just sat there and did nothing for multiple battles in the video I watched. I've always liked the Neptunia franchise as well, it's unashamedly weeaboo trash. I even liked the English VA.
Also mild pet peeve, I much prefer how they depicted Purefoire in Rebirth 1 as compared to RPG. In Rebirth;1 you could see that Purefoire is still the same face as Arfoire (sharp eyes being the most notable), just without the makeup and pale skin. In RPG they kinda homogenize her face to look closer to Nep's.
>>2914941Sounds like they put more effort on making it pretty than making it a proper game.
>>2914941Is there supposed to be a delay before you can do anything in battle? I’m guessing there’s some invisible ATB meter but It’s kind of off-putting
>>2915032You have to wait for animations which is probably what is holding you up.
>>2866996Wait, wasn't Uni the supposed to be the Vita?
>>2885575Weird with all this UniGear no-one has yet mentioned this little gem...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDpNe2gR9jM
>>2917990Uni actually debuted a few months before the Vita was released. It's a possibility, but I'm more inclined to believed she was designed after a console with an established history.
>>2918001I think Uni more likely represents the concept of a Sony portable console as a whole. So she would technically be both. Like, even when she was representing the SFC, Blanc/White Heart was fundamentally the same character
>>2917995Because it's common knowledge among basically anyone who knows UniGear.
>>2918001Uni's the Vita. She drops a hint in Re;Birth 1's ending.Though >>2918009 could be right and she's also the PSP at the same time.
>>2918079Should depend on the game. There are multiple Noires representing different generations as well. (i.e. Victory Noire being PSX)
>>2918079Don't forget RB1 has heavy rewrites from the original HDN
>>2917990>>2918001>>2918009Uni obviously represented the PSP when she debuted, since that was the only Sony Handheld out yet. Heck her name is UNIversal Media Disc, which is the disc format the PSP uses. Like the other celestial cast they do represent the entire console line in the great sheme of things though, so it's not wrong to claim that Uni is the Vita neither.

Wait I am confused. What part is coming out on 2019/7/8 and what part is coming out on 2020/12/25?
How does this make you feel?
>>2918978They have put on weight? All that barbeque?

>>2919126Clearly CPUs have thicker bodies than any human could dream of.
How is Neptune x Nepgear so unpopular?
>>2919568The sisters were simply late to the yuri game.
>>2919568There's plenty of them. I'm more upset at the total lack of NeptunexUni and NoirexNepgear.
>>2919622Probably because they rarely ever interact in the games
>>2919717As if that has ever stopped anyone. Although I guess the Neptunia fanbase is big enough for rareships. Most of the fans are waifufags, and the yurifags prefer established pairings. It would be a different thing if the fanbase was on the same level as Touhou or Kancolle.
Why is UniGear the best pairing?
>>2923989It can be considered a nicer version with fewer problems than NepNowa, I think.
>>2923989It's probably the most consistently teased pairing in Neptunia. NepNowa sometimes works and other times they go through games barely interacting too closely. Plutia sadly only appears in Victory so she doesn't get a chance to expand her harem. Vert x Imouto changes every game on who the imouto actually is. Unigear works in basically every game they're both together, there's always enough bait and their relationship just seems to established as very strong in the canon so they don't tend to diverge that much to create other possible pairings with these 2 characters.
Sub Pluti is underrated.
>>2923994NepNowa's problems are what make it interesting.
And people ask why I ship Planeptune sisters.
