ITT: Best controller ever
>>
Can't argue with that.

Only flaw is the reliance on AA's and the so-so D-pad.

Everything else is perfection. I don't even own an Xbone, just use it on PC.
>>
I wish I didn't have other priorities because I'd really like to trade up to this from a 360 controller.

I like it, but it takes way too long to adjust from a joystick to a trackpad. For instance, a game like Helldivers is just way too hard with this controller over a PS4 / Xbox 360 controller. Sure I bet I could eventually get good with it, but for online only games youd make far too many enemies via FF.

>>
>>371195959
Disagree. I prefer the 360 because of its analog. It feels alittle larger and more strict making precise inputs more consistent because you have to make sure you fully input them with no mistake to even get the. The analogs are slightly smaller on xbone. Dpad is better but 360 dpad is okay as long as its not the main control of the game.

Buttons are better on xbone and triggers as well. Bumpers id still say 360. Besides the xbox hueg controller microsoft makes the best standard console controllers though. It took me forever to even get this used to the PS4 controller for games like GGXrdR and action games.

I've taken a few of these apart. Most of it is pretty well-made, durable stuff with the glaring exception of the bumpers. There is an ultra thin piece of plastic running along the bottom that connects the two bumpers and it's basically guaranteed to snap after a normal amount of use.

In fact once you see the design, there's literally no reason for them to be manufactured that way except to force people into buying a steady supply of new controllers. You can't even say it's a design flaw or an oversight, they very clearly went out of their way to make something that will break after about 6 months or so.

Then why even make them a trigger? They should just be a button then, if they're not analog. If they're digital and a trigger they are less effectient than a button.

I'd be right there with you if I hadn't just used a 360 controller last week. The face buttons on that thing are amazing; smooth, responsive and comfortable. By comparison. the xbone buttons are hard, stiff, and small little bean things that jut out at you.

The menu buttons could be a few millimeters further from the center like they were in the 360, just a smidgen easier to access.
The sticks could be stiffer (personal preference).
It could have an internal battery.

Attack all you want. cant argue with me, so you throw insults like a feminist. Gc face buttons are shit. why did nintendo stop using gct design and ripoff xbox, if it was so great?

Even their games are just attempting to switch into mainstream trends (sand box) that are already on their way out.
Mario hasnt been fun since snes(besides mariokart, thats fun shit), no metroid? What happened? Starfox is only relevant on 64. Pokemon fucking hell, thats getting old. How many shittily designed pokemon are we up to 600 or something?? And zelda is a fanboy game that go tiring after oot. Luckily botw seems legit, but the switch has a myriad of hardware and software problems.

Nimtendo makes money off 1st party games and doesnt give much room for 3rd party developers to make multiplats that would run on nintendonts hardware.
I used to be a yuge nintendo fanboy, until i realized their incompetent.

>>
>>371196502
>B for yes

>>
>>371214375
Previously my favorite was the 360 controller. The PS4 controller literally feels the same as a 360 controller, but larger, wider and with a more comfortable grip. They felt nearly identical in my hands, with the ps4's form factor edging things out. Stick vs d-pad placement is a literal non-factor in both variations.

On the other hand, the Bone controller was literally a "how can we make the 360 controller smaller, and worse" tutorial followed to the letter. It's smaller, the angle on the sides is worse, I like the feel of the shoulders less, and I don't like the sticks either. The only nice thing about the One controllers is the nice texture on the hands.

I considered the 360 controller to be the unbeatable masterpiece before the ps4 one was just a mild improvement in tiny aspects
>>
>>371214936
What?
A is accept and B is back. It's like that on Xbox too, the only one that doesn't is the dualshock that's all over the place.

Where'd you get this nonsense from?
>>
>>371195959
For navigating Netflix

Also, DS4 pisses on it.
>>
>>371215470
>They felt nearly identical in my hands
Aside from being
>smaller
>using worse and cheaper material
>having symmetrical sticks within close proximity
>flimsy triggers
>Convex analogs
>far worse battery life
How is any of this better
>>
>>371215687
the ps4 controller is larger than the 360 controller, and the materials are of equal quality. The triggers are fine and the symmetrical sticks aren't any worse than the offset ones. The offset ones aren't any more useful than symmetrical ones. The analog sticks feel nice, I don't think convex vs concave is a valid argument either.

The battery life doesn't matter because when you use a controller on PC it is ALWAYS FUCKING PLUGGED IN, RETARD

You also left out that PS4's d-pad is much better for emulating games with digital inputs, and for fighting games, as it's four separate buttons instead of a stupid rotary thing.
>>
>>371210483
Aye, that's coming from the months of experience you've had with it since the beginning of the month?
>>
>>371215931
The PS4 controller is smaller than the 360 controller anon especially in the central area. The grips also don't have any finger space unless of course you're a manlet.
As for the material quality the DS4 tends to creak when you're playing any intense game or even grip it fairly lightly. With that said it's not just the material that gives it this problem but the grips on the ends of the controller being a separate part only connected by screws.
The triggers are literally connected by two flimsy pieces of plastic and have very little resistance on the way down which defeats the purpose of analog triggers.
The symmetrical sticks wouldn't be a problem if they weren't so close to each other so any game that controls the character with the left stick and camera with the right is prone to thumb clashes so you can't go to far to the right on the left stick or the left on the right stick.
Symmetrical would be fine if they had a similar placement to the Wii U pro controller where they're far apart to prevent that issue.
As for concave and convex is a grip and comfortability issue once again. Concave allows a firm placement for the thumb to prevent most slipping.

>The battery life doesn't matter because when you use a controller on PC it is ALWAYS FUCKING PLUGGED IN, RETARD
You do realise you can play it wirelessly right? Why would you remove this option just for the worst controller?

>You also left out that PS4's d-pad is much better for emulating games with digital inputs, and for fighting games
For fighting yes, platformers not so much. Neither 360 nor playstation stacks up to the OG dpad.
God help you if you're playing a fighter on PC as well.

75 hours on DS series with this thing.

The first 48 I literally had to take tylenol my hands hurt so bad from marathoning with the stupid placment of the trackpads and shoulder buttons.

However, after that I have to say I really like it. The track pads took a long time to get used to but no longer than using an xbox dual joystick controller for the first time.

Now that I can use them they are good because you can do more with them than just the joystick.

The haptic feedback is what is really great about it. It just feels good to have the controller respond like that.

I wish it felt like more than a piece of plastic and I wish they would find a way to not have terrible pain if you use it for more than 12 hours.

>>371218792
Shilling for nintendo, huh?

Those are the minimal of whats not great about it. The headphone jack is less about headphones and more about a headset port, but i guess you wont be using one "if" splatoon two comes out. What a shame. Analog triggers are just preference, i guess And wired controllers are a nice alterantive for people who dont like dealing with rechargeable batteries. Usb ports can be broken if people arent careful (but thats a long shot).

What it is, is just a xbone ripoff that lacks a headset port. So, to say its the best is wrong. Under that logic xbone would be the best.

Mario Kart doesn't fucking count.

analog triggers are the best thing to happen to driving games. Look into trail braking. Also becomes important in tight racing situations, unless you're the kind of asshole who just dive-bombs your opponent's door. Racing is a bit different when everything doesn't gravitate around fucking turtle shells and bananas.

I really like this and I really want one.

How is the xbox one controller? The xbox 360 was almost perfect except for its godawful d-pad. I remember the ps3 controller having shitty triggers on them. Not sure about the ps4, though I hear it doesn't have the same PC support as the xbox controllers.

Maybe for poorfags.

Xbox 1 controller best standard controller, Elite is best controller money can buy. PS4 creaky cheap feeling piece of shit. Own all 3, haven't tried new Switch pad yet for this gen.

You're right. But every other racer before the seventh gen does.
Not once did digital ever lessen the experience or make the game any harder to play. All analogs have done is casualize this once great genre.

So basically, you're listing things that don't particularly matter in the realms of gaming as a flaw.

The only good DualShock? Sure.

Best controller ever? I genuinely love it, but no.

The GameCube controller is where it's at.

Everything is great about his but the dpad trackpad. For games where the dpad is used to assign items it fine but for certain platformera it's distracting. The feedback helps but it feels off. Luckily the customizability for this things is godly! Saves different configurations for each game and emulators.
