Are you saying No Man's Sky is actually TRON?
>>
>>387056249
To be fair to them they were probably forced to hype it like that by the big wigs at sony
I think its quite respectable they keep updating and judging by everyones reactions it keeps getting genuinely better
It will still be a while before I think about purchasing though
>>
>>387056378
In TRON they kill the MCP which is not the same as resetting.
>>
The update wasn't even that good. They just fixed some textures, made some changes to planet gen RNG, added some radiant Quests that are all dogshit and made a few changes to the trade System.

The game might be decently playable when/if they hit version 2.0 but right now it's the same old shit with a few extra sparkles on top.

It's a stupid quote that doesn't actually make any sense.
A delayed game might be good on release, there is no guarantee purely because overwhelmingly delays are these very short crunch periods.
A bad game is bad at release and will either remain that way or get better.

But then again, that quote was made explicitly to justify a delay to investors, so it's guaranteed to be shallow but 'deep' sounding shit.

You.

Yes, you.

The one screaming, "There's no multiplayer!" and "Sean Murray lied to us!" and other slurs I dare not mention. Tread lightly.

You are one. We are hundreds, thousands. Millions. You aren't just IN the minority; you ARE the minority.

I don't feel awkward or anxious playing No Man's Sky around others, and your words don't affect me. Many others, however, are coming out of their shells for the first time in their lives. This is the first time many are enjoying the beautiful world that has been procedurally generated for us - and it IS beautiful. Incredibly so. DON'T ruin this for them. We No Man's Sky fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow explorers, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us all together.

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't hate you. I don't fear you. I pity you.

I'm sorry that you feel this way towards us. I'm sorry that No Man's Sky is such a bane to your existence. And I'm sorry that you are missing out on such a wonderful experience. Mostly, though, I'm sorry that you feel the need to go around and publicly chastise and berate others. I'm sorry that, to ensure your own validity, you need to make others feel invalid. I'm sorry that your self-worth is so infinitesimally miniscule that you have to make others feel less-than-human, at least in your own denatured mind, just to feel whole. I am truly sorry that day-in and day-out you have to put up with your worthless, meaningless, Shakespearean tragedy of a life.

I ask you politely to cease your unnecessary cries for attention, and instead invite you to join our ranks. Uninstall Call of Duty, start up No Man's Sky, and breathe in the splendour and the amazement of your first planet, and then, maybe, just maybe, you'll see what you've been so hopelessly searching for this whole time.

Discussing games you like is okay -- you might get a few "hurr durr shill" shitposts in any thread about a game being good, but most of /v/ is okay with good old "hey let's talk about this game" threads. The problem is your "WHY HAVEN'T YOU BOUGHT THIS YET" attitude. You're not discussing the game in these threads; you're trying to convince people to buy the game. Stop it.

It's primarily an exploration game, if you don't like exploring for the fuck of it you won't be able to appreciate the main thing that sets this game ahead of its competitors. Everything else is supplementary and on its own pretty superficial.

All of that supplementary shit includes
>Building your base/vehicles
>Doing missions
>Upgrading gear/ship
>Finding better ships
>Dogfighting
>Learning the languages
>Discovering shit
>Trading

Hell, you upgrade your base and you can get a technology that mines for you. Upgrade your vehicles and you get one that helps mine faster and get a trading terminal in your base. If you really want to mine yourself to death there actually is progression there.
>>
>>387061925
The reason your discussion is considered advertising is because you do not let anyone criticize it without retarded strawmen and ad hominem. If you want to be on /v/, then you shut up, sit down, and let people criticize your product. >>

>>387058074
Bad quote. I think what really is the meaning is that if a rushed game releases in a bad state, it will remain broken and bad in the eyes of everyone even if its fixed evetually ( see: SWTOR, NMS, Ninja Gaiden 3, FFXIV, Street Fighter V),
While a game delayed can still be received well if at its first public outing its good (see: FFXV, Tekken 7, possibly KH3 when it hits).

Thats not an argument m8. Not even the anon you're talking too, I casually shittalk NMS too but you didnt provide an argument, you just want to hate on it because its a hip meme.

Its perfectly reasonable to discuss a game again given it had a major cobtent update and fixes. The fact you hate it because you feel emotionally compelled too does not change the state of being which is the fact thst alot of what people complained about was addressed.

Address the subject matter and not whatever you feel like to stick to your guns. Whats even the point in entering a thread if you're just going in to say "lol nah its shit and always will be" and leave? Its this kind of cancer that kills discussion on /v/.

If you think the update changes nothing, elaborate why or just leave.

>>
>>387063442
Depends. If you dont like the grindy aspects there's creative mode which is basically Godmode.

If you like aesthetic space exploration in an imaginary universe while listening to cool ambience, yeah this might be fun for a while. Be aware the universe itself is very barren and planet biomes are not very interesting without mods.
The game relies mostly on YOU to make a good time out of it. The game's design is pretty bad and grindy.

The solar systems are separated by instance, not truly allowing you to take in the vastness of space when its separated to different coloured dark matter spaceboxes, you only really see the expansiveness through the galactic map.

If that still sounds cool, Yeah 25$ is a good price.

If you want a more (ironically) surreal "space is scary" experience in OUR vast universe, and dont care for the gamey aspects like missions, story, random aliens and monsters and such, then skip NMS entirely and download the free to use Space Engine.

Meanwhile, you're trying to convince people with the 'buy this you fag' attitude, you haven't even posted anything related to the game, the people complaining about the game did that for you. You could've literally posted screenshots of planets and smol aliens but instead you spent your time being assmad about shitposters.
Your fault, really.

WOAH MIND BLOWN
>>
>>387055257
The reality, it's $15
>>
>>387062115
but the exploration is shit too, there's 5 different planet types and the flora and fauna all look the same everywhere with different colors slapped on for good measure
>>
>>387059410
The pasta is actually from reddit, but it was edited to fit NMS as a joke. The original was from some sports subreddit.

Seriously, help me out. I actually want to try playing this.
Why does everything look all fucked up when I run it?
>>
>>387066172
try turning all your graphics down

I did that. That stupid-ass bloom effect still fucks up my vision when I face a certain direction.

It's genuinely surprising after the shitshow of a launch they had they're still putting in the work and that we might have a really good space game another year from now

I mean the real surprising thing is that there's now something for them to build on to make actual multiplayer
>>
>>387065972
The planet generation is good enough to keep you entertained for a few weeks if you don't expect every planet you land on to be fucking amazing. I played for about a month after launch and then another month after the foundation update, I was still finding interesting new planets when I quit playing each time. "Types" of planets is pretty narrow but the terrain can differ quite a bit.

The flora and fauna I agree they fucked up hard on. Once again, you can still find cool new shit for about a week but then you've for the most part seen everything. The generation is way too narrow. I haven't tried the new update but they have allegedly addressed it.

>for a few weeks

do you play like 5 minutes a day?

Is this a The Sims anime?
>>
>>387066736
It's almost FF14 sequel where they should have binned it but instead they are still working it.

They just need to add alien RNG so you can discover planets with civilizations on them and a few more factions.

Multiplayer is nice, but they need to keep working on making discovery actually mean something.

So how is the survival aspect of the game now after all those updates? Did they add any depth to it?

Because people dont bitch at how boring korean grindfest is. Its a shit game and brabo and the rest of ftroop should be shot in the foot and left to fester.

It got a bunch of updates and it got better, I've played a pirated version a lot and now that they put it on sale meaning it's even cheaper on GMG and made a great update, I bought it, was worth it.

The second guy IS me. I identify the game's strength and weaknesses and recommend it based on that.

This is the difference between a nlanket statement that contributes nothing to a constructive poats. Glad to see you learned something today :).

First time I've ever played this. Apparanty when the orb at the start of the game told you it was disconnected you were supposed to hit "brodcast" instead of "leave"?
And then you get the actual fucking main quest? So I've fucked myself out of it and have to restart after 4 hours?

the fuck?
>>
>>387072439
No, it's a tutorial, or like a guide, you'll find atlas soon enough
>>

5 hours give or take.
>>
>>387072563
So I don't have to restart to get the main quest shit? Good. I got a good start, I think. There was a crashed 48 slot cargo ship near my starting location. Gonna be expensive as fuck to unlock all the slots, but seems a good ship.
Do I just go looking for momuments on random planets? I've already left the starting system.
>>
>>387058180
You should unironically kill yourself
>>
>>387073574
Just keep playing it'll come up, I got it in my third? system.
