Is 47 one of the nicest video game characters ever?
>>
he's a twisted fucking psychopath
>>
the amount of things 47 is capable of doing just to maintain character in disguises is ridiculous
>>
>>402101343
eh kills bad guys and doesn't afraid of anything
>>
>>402101343
yes
>>
>Absolution
I played it last summer after years of not trying to torture myself. It's not all that bad actually, I was still able to play go stealth for most of the game but I hated the few action section there were. I also miss the exotic locals, I'm not fond of the American Midwest and never will be.
>>
>>402101785

He's also a pretty good drummer and DDR player.

Was he genetically engineered to be good at a bunch of hobbies or was that the result of having limitless free time outside of killing people every now and then?
>>
>>402101343
>kills the poor delivery guy who didn't even want a tip for no reason
That legitimately felt out of character. "Silent Assassin," my ass.
>>
>>402101785
I like the one theory anon made that he just uses his multi-million dollar salary to learn an impossibly huge variety of miscellaneous skills in the off chance that he may one day need them to pull off a contract.
>>

Hitman: the Hitting > Blood Money = 2016 > everything else.
>>
How in the everloving FUCK are you supposed to disguise yourself as the flower delivery guy in Sapienza without everyone and their mother spotting the body?
>>
>>402101490
i think a psychopath would enjoy 47's job

47 does this because it's all he knows
>>
What does 47 do in his spare time?
>>
>>402102712
Well I mean he's a genetically engineered superhuman, I doubt it takes him very long to learn anything.

I feel like they hired a low-grade target as the delivery guy so they could kill two birds with one stone. That's just my totally bullshit explanation though.
>>
>>402102849
There's also a delivery costume in a clothing bag but I forgot where. You might have to break into a place tho
>>
>>402101785

Presuming that one hit takes a few days (travel + planning + execution), and the rates he charges, he probably only needs to do one hit every other month to live a cozy lifestyle. The rest of his freetime is likely spent on random hobbies and skillsets to expand his cover potential.
>>
Kiryu

He's not Santa Claus anon, he's a contract killer. The delivery guy saw his face and that he was staying there, so he had to die.

Kiryu is nice because of how naive he is, if anything

Sure, but pretty much every single person you kill in the series deserves it--that guy didn't. And 47 just shooting a guy and leaving him there in his hotel room is just sloppy.
>>
>>402104991

For some fucking reason I just can't get into the latest HITMAN even though I fucking played blood money for hundreds of hours and they're really similar, compared to shitsolution at least

bloody money still "feels" better, am I the only one?
>>
>>402105570
I'd like TM better with a different soundtrack
>>
>>402105570
the new hitman game has a completely different tone to it. not as dark as contracts or blood money.
>>
>>402105665
Did Eidos ever say why Jesper Kyd didn't do the soundtrack for this one? I feel the atmosphere of Hitman really suffers without him
>>
>>402105570
I also felt like 2016 was lacking a certain magic ingredient. I can't really pinpoint exactly what it is, but somehow I lack the desire to play the game again and again like I did with Blood Money.
>>
>>402105552

That was his attempt at redemption before realizing that he can only live his life as a contract killer. what's your point?

>>
>>402105570
I paid $36 for it--was that a fair price? I'm going to go through it once and then do all the challenges for each location.
>>
>>402105848

It's probably a bunch of legal business contract bullshit that neither Kyd nor Eidos had any control over. Guess they lost control of that once they started working with Square-Enix.
>>
>>402102712
You know how some people can just look at something and do it without needing to learn it? I imagine 47 is like that.

Why cant i buy a single episode?

That and the fact that he has superhuman reflexes.
>>
>>402106192

I think you can buy single episodes, but the GOTY shit is one bundle so you have to buy the fucking costumes which cost more than the Patient Zero level. The PZ level is mediocre anyway, don't worry about it.

This is my main problem. So they finally gain their independence and how do they choose to celebrate it? By forcibly bundling overpriced costumes with some reskinned levels. I mean, I might been inclined to buy just the levels to support the devs, but it's just a giant middle finger to make it so expensive and force it together with those retarded costumes.
I guess IO stared too long into the DLC abyss while under Squeenix.

Fuck off with this shit already. You need to murder in order to be a functional human being, it's in our very nature. Why do you think we're so fucked in the head as a modern people? No way to get away with it nowadays and people screaming how hurting others is bad. Think of it as a balance, you need to have a horribly evil and destructive alter ego in order to be the nicest people you can ever possibly be.

BTK Killer not only raped bitches, but he loved watching them vomit as he strangled and sodomized them with ropes or their own stockings. But when he was at home, he was the best neighbor anyone could ask for like helping his next door neighbor build their fence, he loved his kids to the point where he got a second job as a dogcatcher just so he can pay for his daughter's college tuition, and became a leading figure of his local church.

Picked the game up recently. Will those elusive target missions come back at some point or did I miss out on them completely? Game's pretty good overall but I'm kind of on the fence about the gorillion challenges because my autism demands this I do them all.
How would you guys rate the different locations? After about 3 days of playing, I'd say Sapienza > Hokkaido > Paris > Bangkok >powergap > Marrakesh = Colorado
Am I missing something about Marrakesh and Colorado? Those seem bland and absolutely awful compared to the rest.

That approach ruins Silent Assassin. What doesn't, though, is blowing the general's brains out with a loud sawn-off shotgun, running after the Ambassador, bum-rushing him and the Spetsnaz guy (because sneaking up on them would take forever) with your anaesthetic bottle in hand and opening the safe with his combination, then just rushing to the exit.

Can someone explain Hitman 2016 to me? Do you have to buy levels and wait for special events or something? I never played it and was thinking of trying it out, but I don't know anything about the special packages/versions. I remember it was segmented into different episodes when it came out and that's why I didn't buy it at the time.
>>
>>402113479
You can download Paris for free, give that a try.

As of right now, you can buy the game for ~$35. That's the full game up until this point and that includes:

-6 maps
-Season One campaign that uses all these six maps
-Patient Zero DLC campaign that reuses slightly altered versions of these maps
-Additional "bonus missions" that further reuse slightly (or heavily) altered versions of these maps

On top of that, each map has sets of challenges, "escalation contracts", and community contracts. Occasionally, there is a time-restricted "elusive target".

Challenges are things you can do throughout the map on different missions (Silent Assassin playthrough, kill this target in this way, complete this in-game opportunity [scripted ways to achieve good positions or get the targets alone, etc, etc]).
Escalation contracts are quick missions on maps that come in 3 or 5 parts per escalation contract. As you complete them (usually just assassinating some random target), they get harder (adding more targets, adding restrictions, etc). They range from pretty simple to extremely difficult and can be pretty fun. You complete them once you complete all 3 or 5 parts of them.
Community contracts are exactly what they sound like. You find a target and kill them in a certain way or with a certain disguise, etc.
Elusive contracts are time-restricted and only allow you to kill them once. If you fail and die you cannot attempt to complete them again.

Challenges and Escalation contracts (and elusive targets? idk) grant mastery points upon completion that allow you to unlock different starting points and smuggled item locations on a per-map basis, as well as unlock weapons and gadgets on a global basis.

no probs. I don't wanna act like too much of a fucking shill, but I will say that if you're the type of person that likes the Hitman games for replayability, there's plenty of content. I've probably spent 7 or 8 hours on Paris and Sapienza each and there are still challenges that I have no idea how to complete, and likely things throughout the map that I haven't found yet.
If you're the type that isn't so completionist and might have a hard time with replaying through the six maps you may be better off just pirating or waiting for more maps

>Recommending people buy Shitman TM

I see the shills are here again.

Let me remind you about Absolution the "worst" Hitman game

>5 difficulty levels. Each difficulty level adds enemies, changes their patrol paths, and is over all the best way to do harder difficulty levels
>20 missions (albeit some of them are very short) at launch. Feature complete from the word go.
>Don't need to always be online and rely on IO's shitty servers to get access to the entire game you paid money for.
>Can dual wield silverballers from the very beginning. Can't do that in Shitman AT ALL
>Targets are actually dangerous, unlike the cucks in Shitman that are harmless: A man about to be offed by his wife, a virgin /r9k/ loser, a simpering manchild that needs daddy's protection, an old defenseless man hanging on to consciousness with his chest open on an operating table. (Colorado targets are an exception)
>All the content you paid for is available to you at all times, unlike the piss easy one off 'Elusive Targets' that are required for unlocks
>Full of sexy women
>47 can finally do martial arts in game, unlike the wimpy shot to the kidney in Shitman
>Doesn't repeat content endless over the same six fucking maps!

Anyone that recommends you buy the game is a shill because Shitman is worse than Absolution. Yeah, that's right, I never thought I'd see the day I'd defend Absolution either. TM is really that bad.

In all games, you can kill certain types of guards who didn't do anything wrong other than having been on security detail on the wrong day (Russian soldiers, policemen, the US militarymen in the White House), and still get the "canonical" rating, which is Silent Assassin.

In Contracts, you have to silence an undercover detective solely because he got caught on the job.

Blood Money has plenty of documented kills on innocents.

Absolution's plot is egregiously stupid but it forces 47 into some situations that certainly aren't all "nice and cozy" - e.g. Diana's security detail that's guarding Victoria's room is just a bunch of hired bodyguards and they're all offed to show off point shooting. (You *can* technically get past them without killing them, but to do that, you have to do some "gamist" shit that just wouldn't fly. The game really wants you to shoot them, anyhow.)

>airport with randomly assigned flight terminals for the target

>factory that's in operation
Another one I thought of is a bit of a gag but an on-going bank robbery with hostages. The play area would be the bank itself with a police cordon that spans half a block so you'll have to infiltrate the cordon via the surrounding buildings, sewers, rooftops or the streets, get inside and determine which of the bank robbers is the target. Better yet, make one of the hostage the target so you'll need to find a way to take them out without the robbers, cops or other hostages getting suspicious. Some options would be to dress the target as a robber so they get shot when the police roll in or intensify the situation so one of the robbers kills him for you, shit like that.
>>
>>402124436
>airport with randomly assigned flight terminals for the target
speedrunfags would reeeeee
>>
>>402116914
>>Prison
Make it an OSP mission like Hokkaido, and force the player to break out to reach the level exit, and it's 10/10. You could probably get away with only having one target as well- The main challenge of the level could be to escape.
>>
>>402101343
What are you talking about? He instantly opens fire at the crowd whenever he's deployed. Clearly you've been playing something else.
>>
>>402124527
Speedrunfags always Reee. They genuinely dislike Murder of Crows because of it's random target locations.
>>
>>402124527
How about if one of the opportunities allows you to assign the flight terminal yourself? Regardless, fuck speedrunners. When do they not reeeeee?

ive heard there is an easter egg in DLC campaign where you can help a guy by preventing his suicide in different missions. If you messed with his suicide attempts in the first level, he survives till the second where you have to do it again and so on. Never played it tho

Hitman's VA is fucking laughable, I seriously don't understand people who unironically praise 47's voice actor

both posts are mine. Hitman 1-2 aged like milk and voice acting has always been fucking horrible. 47 didn't have that many lines and he fucked them up anyway, intentionally or not. There is a lot of subtle humor in all hitman games and I'm not sure whether they actually wanted 47 to sperg out or not, it always seemed like they just did a poor job with it.
Either way fuck off faggot

if your talking about 2016 hitman, theres a free trial on steam. try it at first. the level sucks but itll give you an impression of how it controls. its a silly russian espionage mission in a boring dirty warehouse instead of the huge sprawling beautiful levels the actual game has
>>
>>402126871
To be fair when it comes to sound akward and autistic he absolutely nails it, and to be fair, its basically like Solid Snake or Frank West, the cheesy delivery is part of the charm and reason to love the VA and have the character be so associated with him. Hence why the swaps piss off so much a lot of fans.

>>402126924
Pretty sure he goes to his backstage room occasionally, alone.

>>402126898
In the prologue Diana is told by Soders that 47 was literally spat out of nowhere, the romanian hospital was rip to shreds. She probably never even cared of what was about 47’s past. In my opinion the whole point of Providence Guy showing the pic was to basically say “we know everything in the chess board nigga”.

He only tries to kill himself in one of them, but yeah, you can otherwise make him survive through the whole campaign, and knock him out in the final level for some random items.

from the pictures in the trial its the training level, not paris? atleast thats what it looks like

Well if you had read his whole post instead of just the first few sentences you'd know the free trial doesn't include Paris.
>>
>>402127345
Try the Paris level thats up for free if you only want 2016. Its a phenomenal level and should really nail if you enjoy these types of games.

If you are buying the whole series, I dont really reccomend it because it comes with Absolution DLC thats worth jack shit but Contracts, Blood Money and 2016 are very much worth the play and money spent.

Season 2 is clearly in development or atleast early in based upon some docs that leakd, they just like to be super quiet. I know this based upon how little they actually say until its all done.
Tho they might pull a Season 3 out of their ass who knows. As long as I get more good levels like Paris and Sapienza I can endure the silence bullshit and waiting to know this gayass true intentions.

>>402127840

paris would be an amazing demo tho
>>
>>402105570
New one is pretty good, but there is so much hand-holding and the complexity of the levels, on top of the need for unlocks for some of the fun. Not sure if its because I am older now, but I had more freedom and adventure in blood money. I remember spending like 25-30 hours on JUST that suburb area hit.
>>
>>402128295
Yes but they also are no longer getting publisher money so the extent and quality of season 2 pretty much depends on their post-buyout sales. That's the whole reason the GOTY upgrade exists.
>>
>>402128365
>where the fuck do you think you are faggot, argue with me
are you retarded? it clealry isn't paris, what's the point arguing
>>
>>402128262
Based on the way real militaries and PMCs conduct operations, it's highly unlikely that he has any part in anything other than the actual assassination.
>>
>>402127385
What are you retarded. Absolution takes place in 2012. The new one takes place in 2019. Fuck head. The tutorial is 20 years in the past but it just touches on his past. CODENAME47 is his origin story.
>>
>>402128365
Not him, but I just checked and since Christmas you can actually get Paris for free.
>>
>>402128578
Contracts covers the origin story well enough IIRC
>>
I'm playing through Absolution again and how the fuck did this game even get made jesus christ
>>
>>402128379

i think this newest Hitman felt like a sandbox stealth with MMORPG elements. You get one map that was apparently supposed to last you for about 3 months until they produced the next big and huge DLC map, with some kind of goofy fucking system where they opened up temporary time-locked contracts (still using that same map) to try to keep the game installed.

I see Sqeenix's idea of "game as a service" all over it. The older hitmans might've been smaller but they were campaign complete. And all those little challenges would've had their own maps instead of being carried out in one big honkin' map.

He's partially right though, the first episode is free on Steam now instead of just the prologue.
>>

>>402129527
Now I'm really confused. There is one free pack for Paris and one free pack for ICA facility on steam right now, apparently

Datamining requires you to actually be looking for something. If you aren't looking for something you're unlikely to find it.

>dude did you know that if you wear the exterminator outfit and then play "la cucaracha" on the piano in the penthouse you'll summon a giant cockroach who walks through the city
