so last thread someone show us a torch with durability up+, so I was thinking could be possible to get stuff like the soup laddle, or the farmer tools with that too? what about pot lids and other kind of early weapons/shields?
>>
Wouldn't Hylia be rather annoyed at you if you were trading essences with the horned statue that she gave you in the first place?

Well not "gave" since you had to pay her too, just with another kind of currency that the monks give you. They're not that different at all.
>>
>>177154836
Difference is, that the monk´s rewards are ultimately rewards for passing shrines presumably build to honor Hylia in some form. The monks in there worship her after all and disappear once they fullfilled their duty towards Hylia by handing out the currency rewards, which you then can give to Hylia.

but not all stables, right? I can't remember but I think it's only ones near the four main towns. though i don't recall one near zora's domain, though that whole wetlands area has like four redundant stables considering how unhorsefriendly it is.
>>177129334
the only question is what would an Uura look like in a more advanced style.. not that i'm tied to that.
>>
>>177154836
Hylia probably would let Link do anything he wants as long as he only fucks Zelda
>>
>>177136339
great idea, but should have been the "staltula house / Ikana Castle" of this game, rather than its four sole dungeons
>>
>>177155104
Fair enough, but the first part still remains. I'd imagine she wouldn't be best pleased if you were trading those essences she bestowed upon you. Trading with a demon that she trapped in that statue in the first place.
>>
>>177137256

which isnt to say there wont be some minor frustrations and disappoints here and there. how far did you get in each?

>>
>>177160650
got stuck on a puzzle in the sand temple in TP and a later silent realm in skyloft in SS. It's been years since I've played either though.
>>
>>177160860
yeah those were both slightly frustrating, but totally doable, and I think worth it. no zelda is actually HARD after all. not after the first two.
>>
>>177160860
>>177160650
I remember the first time I played SS, the silent realms were getting to me. Years later I played again, and they were such a breeze I owned them.
>>
>>177161124
the main problem with them is that doing them properly is ... by far the most boring way to do them, but doing anything but perfect just means you have to start over. it was a good idea but poorly executed. There's a million interesting ways to fail and doing them is way too punishing. I would have just taken out the time limit
>>
>>177161656
I felt like I had lots of freedom, as long as I didn't eat up all the time refills in an area, and that I left the easy containers for last.
>>
>>177161884
yeah it requires some strategy. which is cool
and i actually like the idea of recycling the maps.. it's clever.. but in a game that already has a lot of area recycling and too few areas and no connections... i mean would a simple warp have killed them? just for zelda-cred, not actually super useful. something like how the lost woods had warps to other areas
>>
>>177162268
Groose builds an area warp (link-catapult) after the temple falls. It's just that completionists may not have a reason to use it at that late point in the game.

although having creatures from other countries and another dimension is a bit of a stretch. maybe it should be a zuni instead of a twili.. and i feel like it'd be cool if one of them was a yeti or one of those little yukiwarashi things.
>>
I wish they would have pulled a Link Between Worlds and let you see OoT's or older games temples in decay, somewhat like they did for the old castle town and lon lon ranch, like you explored some cave in death mountain and bam, you're inside the old Fire Temple from OoT except it was already mined out by gorons or just ruins of some of it's rooms

Who knows Nintendo could introduce or reintroduce a race or they could decide to make certain races that are well known as the staple or even only races rather than having the current rotating door on which races do or don't inhabit Hyrule

Personally I think that they should add the Deku as a race but they aren't strictly allies or they could have the Zuna as the desert equivalent of Koroks with a Great Cacti as their boss/god

Yeah I doubt they would be that shy after the first couple of times they had sex. Don't forget that Gerudo used to rape men and kidnap them to use as sex slaves. Once they let themselves enjoy themselves I'm sure they'll be draining their men dry. Why else would husbands be willing to stay with women they rarely see because they're working crazy shifts in Gerudo Town if the sex wasn't absolutely amazing

"No reason"? Are you kidding me? At that point they're basically footsoldiers for Ganondorf or at best (worse?) Twinrova. That trio already treat their own people, the Gerudo, like shit and surely look upon regular hyrule-goers even less.

They toss them in jail since it's not as severe as simply killing them (it's an E rated game). Above all that though it's a story reason for a gameplay mechanic (stealth).

Like, you can hang onto your headcanon all you want, just be aware that you're forgoing simple explanations for pretty complicated and shakey ones.

The Gerudo in BotW are not even at all close to how they are in OoT diplomatically so I don't know why you're comparing them on that front.
>>
>>177176771

So basically you're agreeing that they were just going to kill them. I don't see where we have a disagreement then as I listed that as one of the likely reasons for them being held there.

The Gerudo consider all men who aren't Ganondorf uselss so I doubt they distinguish between the carpenters and whatever men they find on their jaunts into Hyrule. Find a man, sleep with him and raise the child to be a strong Gerudo in an environment that won't allow them to be weak. That's why I reckon they would've fucked them before killing them

Is it headcanon maybe but it's not out of line with their behaviour and world view

I think it just became a bottleneck. the guardians aren't exactly stupid but they're dumb enough that if you create a place they can get into but not out of, eventually enough of them will wander in that it's fucking full of them. this is almost surely what happened in the space below the labyrinth
i really doubt gannery knew shit about where the shrines would be
>>
>>177177474
>So basically you're agreeing that they were just going to kill them. I don't see where we have a disagreement then as I listed that as one of the likely reasons for them being held there

The disagreement comes down to the whole idea that them raping the carpenters is an actual thing and not just an unsubstantiated theory. Obviously one the possible endgames of imprisonment in this case are eventual death or execution.

>There's no reason to keep them imprisoned other than to use them as slave labour, breeding material or to execute them later as an example/punishment

Just because Urbosa got killed doesn't mean the royal line couldn't have continued through siblings or cousins.

Does Riju ever refer to Urbosa as her grandmother or something similar? If not that seems a little weird.

the fastest way to get star bits is to stand on the plateau tower with the castle on the leftmost of your screen. change time to noon, then to night, and a star bit falls within a VERY short distance of the stable right in front of you, and almost nowhere else.. usually within just a minute

lately i actually kinda want cosplay weapons
of course what i really want is the golden bow. my inventory feels naked without it. i realize it makes all other bows useless, but... if i do that hack, that's going to be the first thing i do, and maybe i'll leave it at that.

the goddess sword is shite, it claims it kicks up a wind when you use it, but it doesnt
kishin link is fantastic. sadly the helix sword doesnt fire beams but it's still cool, and it's nice that his upgrade requirements dont include a bunch of fucking star bits. mind, they require dragon bits.. but farming for that can be really easy once you get into a groove.

What else would Mipha had said?

It definitely seems likely that she was going to say something like "I think about someone I care about" because 1) she's embarrassed about it, 2) her healing power is largely directed at Link and 3) Zelda's love for Link is what ends up awakening her powers in the end.

It definitely feels like it's meant to foreshadow the final memory and being in love with Link is something Mipha and Zelda have in common to bond over.

speaking of potentially wrong translations, i've noticed only western artists drawing paya's birthmark as a papaya SEED, while the asian artists seem to mostly draw a papaya-shaped birthmark. maybe i'm just making that up right now but i've definitely seen both in art, so one either misunderstood or got different info
honestly it's hard to imagine anyone looking at the shape of her birthmark and seeing such specific things. If it's a papaya seed, most people would call that an egg. an oval that's tapered slightly more at one end. if it's a papaya, who doesn't look at that and see a pear?

So I was sort of interested in seeing what my Link's "net worth" was. This was the result, roughly:

>40,000 rupees on hand
>260,000 in resources
>30,000 in clothing

So about 330,000 rupees. Not too bad, although it's a bit less than I thought. Granted it would be a bit higher with more efficient use of resources.

>>177186339
Honestly though, I could go with more inventory weapon slots. Bow and especially shield slots end up feeling excessive, but even after maxing out my weapon slots I feel like it's not enough!

>>
>>177197143

>>177197779

you won't feel like bow slots are excessive when you have to juggle lynel bows doing 48 damage with each arrow, lynel bows shooting FIVE arrows, twilight bow, ancient bow, great eagle bow, and royal bows doing in excess of 53 damage.
shield slots, yeah. wholly unnecessary. but they were doing like i do when i design games, and going by 'pages' instead of being sensible.

The only time I've wanted more bows is fresh off of doing the duplication glitch after being inclined to drop off some of my excess lynel bows in favor of keeping the watchdog bokoblins from picking back up their shitty knight's bows.

I've been playing for like 300 hours. Bows are just too similar and overall durable to warrant that many potential slots. I feel like weapon slots being limited to just one page feels like an arbitrary restriction for how many seeds there are.
>>
>>177198174
Great way to put it.
>>
>>177198993
oh. is that something you can edit? what are you asking about it
>>177199013
it works better if you take the time to pick up the knights bows and go up on top of the skull and drop them there (you have to drop some lynel bows there in advance)
in any case yeah that's arbitrary as fuck. maybe the DLC will expand it.
i wish i could keep a dedicated sniper bow around, but it would require ditching something really good.

>>
>>177200647
Right, I'm surely not doing the glitch as efficiently as I can. I saw a vid where a dude put everyone into the skull hut and they were just shooting the wall between Link, but in my experience a handful just stop firing since they can't see the dude. I need those projectiles though

Expanding on what I said, if Nintendo reallly wants to be all elegant with their pages (even though the most important one, clothes, ends up being a fucking mess without redundant padding) they can make new houses in various towns that we can buy. They don't even have to be as full-fledged as Hateno's.

>>
>>177202240
oh hell no
>>
>>177182969
The sword is now diamonds.
>>
>>177201513
well let me give you the advice from my experience. it took a lot of tries. the time it worked, I had just 7 of them going (one got accidentally killed), but 2 of them had 5-shot lynel bows so that was 25 arrows shooting around.
I snuck in and robbed the 4 inside the skull as they slept. then i ditched their weapons atop the skull. if at any point you start dropping items while theyre shooting, some of their bows will despawn.
i shocked the 4 archers gently with one of their knight bows so it wouldnt kill them.
then I tried to herd them all into one spot, then arm them. i had to kite a few of them into the pile of bows a few times, but they eventually did it
then I just ran all around, staying far enough away to reliably dodge, but only just that far. the important thing is getting tons of arrows in one area.
then, and this is key, you have to spam pause. you might think "oh this isnt working at all" but it was probably working for a few centiseconds in the last few seconds, you just missed it. If you spam pause, you'll get much better results, much more often.

I think she suspected something before since she seems to be responding to Urbosa's comment here.. She lets out a small gasp and looks immediately at Link who is staring at Zelda, so it must have been on her mind already.

Obviously she still thought she had a chance during her memory scene. We don't know what she was doing in between that one and Ganon's return, but unlike the others, Mipha's memory seems to happen AFTER Link and Zelda start getting along, so I wonder if she started to suspect during that same visit.

we have a link who heavily uses ancient tech (i came up with the idea of wearing a holo-shield ON your forearm a long time ago, this is the perfect time to use it) and probably rides a hovercycle called 3P0n4,
a river zora warrior prince named Orinoco,
Saradai, the tokagejin mage (who is currently gravid with eggs but she floats everywhere anyway so it doesn't hold her back),
and a feisty little Uura sharpshooter called Uradana, a drifter from the coldest back alleys of Uura World.
so the last one should be.. i mean, tall would fit nicely on this canvas. were the Zuna tall? cactoi tend to get tall, so I could see a tall thin Zuna wearing flowing robes.
it also occurs to me that despite being a lizard, Saradai is probably the pilot of the BIRD since she can float, because Uura World is volcanic. I totally forgot about that. I remembered it being subterranean. So that little fucker is probably piloting the lizard.
also i'm not sure what kind of hands and feet to give a big river zora. for that matter, should he have big lower canines? maybe a scar? we've seen so few of them.. i don't know for certain that gyomazon are meant to be river zoras

Look for Fireproof Lizards, take a pic of them, use the slate to track them and make elixirs.

1 fireproof lizard + any monster part is like 6 minutes level 1 protection. throw in some guts for added duration

level 1 flame protection is good enough to get to goron city

level 2 protection is required for magma areas

Goron City sells flame protection armor
>>
>>177206271
I don't remember if it was that one or one of the other two, but on top of it there're a couple of chests, so if you want them you'll have to climb and jump eventually.
>>
>>177210150
and said flame protection armor requires lizards to upgrade to level 2 (fireproof), so .. don't sell them and don't use any more once you've gotten the armor.
>>
>>177210150
Can you get a level two fireproof elixer? I've been trying with multiple butterflies but all I get is an extended duration
>>
>>177210170
only one i remember having chests up top was the desert one. could be wrong.

>>
last thread someone mentioned other goron mines besides the one at the entrance and the one where yunobo was. any word on those?
>>
>>177210251
Takes a lot to get level 2 protection from elixirs/meals. Like it takes 3 sunshrooms and the dragonfly to get to level 2. save and test it out yourself.

So try 3 lizards and some guts. but like the others said you need lizards and smolder butterflies to upgrade the flame armor.

id only make a couple level 1 potions and get to goron city asap and backtrack with the flamebreaker armor
>>
>>177210251
Throw in 3 or 4 butterflies with a monster part, and it will get to level 2.
Or, you can use 3 lizards, and monster extract, along with a common monster part.
Sometime 4 lizards cooked under a blood moon, with the monster part or course.

the workarounds really make this game good

I don't get it, the pedestal of time was a lock to the door of time inside Hylias's temple but also worked as a doorway to the sacred realm AND is the entrance to the temple of time's dungeon, but somehow the royal family said fuck that lets move the master sword! to our basement! and there the sword only worked as a lock to Ganon's minions, but then they moved to the Deku Tree's front yard because reasons

so what happened to the fucking door of time, to the temple of time's dungeon and the fucking sacred realm's entrance! is the room with the pedestal some metaphysical area since there's no such room now? and what happened to the dungeon's entrance?
>>
>>177219331
Just keep in mind that the devs don't really prioritize lore when making the game, they just try to make fun gameplay and cool locations, then string those together with an alright story that may or may not be consistent with what went on in previous games.
>>
>>177219461
I know, but still it somehow bugs me a bit
>>
>>177219331
>door of time, sacred realm's entrance
a bad idea. they got rid of them. besides the triforce would never be there again, unless that's just where it goes sometimes automatically
>entrance to the temple of time's dungeon
once the mirror piece was recovered, why ever go there again? what was its purpose in the first place?
>>
>>177219331
makes sense to me. if you want it to seal ganon's minions, you have to put it here, in THIS magic pedestal. it's a different one.
at some point the deku tree is like yeah no. put it in my woods please. i'll mess up the exit as you leave. nobody but a very important guy can have this thing
just like when zelda put it there.
>>
>>177219839
also I believe the sword's been reforged several times. makes sense it would move.

>>
>>177220101
and youre not alone in that, but the oracles games indicate that any sword COULD be once it's imbued with the special power
plus it has multiple backstories. i dunno where youre getting 'link forges' since he doesnt, but just about everyone else is said to have.
though those could be reforging the same object. it's hard to say
>>

why is color blue so prevalent in this game? I mean I like blue but that tone of blue is too hard on the eyes for me, and everything is fucking blue and orange I hate that meme contrast
>>
>>177223968
it's a meme contrast becasue it reminds you of stuff and it works nicely
and there's blue everywhere because it's normally green and theyre taking it into a new place and shit
personally i particularly love the neon magenta that offsets the (two different shades of, i might add) blue and orange

WHY WOULD YOU DESIGN IT LIKE THAT
>>
>>177210084
I also just realized that they might have a unified green color scheme if i make it a zuna. even though tokagejin can be other colors, green is the first to come to mind, and the little guy could easily have a green cloak.. and we've never seen river zoras in any color but green or kind of teal, so.. would that be a good thing, or would it be better to vary up the colors and just give them all a bit of green to wear, if even that?
>>
>>177224738
i think i actually remember that one. that was weird. honestly of all the challenges in this game, getting all the treasures in the shrines might be the most 'it's up to you, haha, have fun'
some of them are absolutely mindboggling
i went back to 'metal clears the path' or whatever, noticing it didnt have a chest mark.. i had to use my radar to find it. couldnt see shit.. finally looked around, BREAKABLE CEILING. total madness. requires bomb arrows too. only place in the game with one of those, or with a chest hidden like that, that I know of.

the number of times i grudgingly redid part of a shrine because i missed a chest.. i can't even tell you. but sometimes it was glorious, like that one where you build and build and connect circuits until you have this machine that moves you around up top, and you have to move an obstacle out of the way on the way

Ancient weapons have a 50% damage boost with ancient proficiency rather than 30% with Guardian weapons, but you can't get any upgrades/traits on them. Guardian++ weapons aren't hard to farm either, so it doesn't seem all that worth it. I'd rather get the bow.

Daybreaker has 60 durability, which gives it about as much durability as two royal shields. And there sure are a lot of free royal shields out there

The +30%/+50% stacks with ancient proficiency and any attack up effects you have from food and elixirs. Basically you can do insane damage against guardian enemies with ancient or guardian weapons, but moreso ancient. For the record, the ancient battleaxe is mislabelled, and is actually a guardian weapon. Proper ancient weapons come from the Akkala tech lab.
>>
>>177262954
nothing says she is, nothing says she isn't
>>
>>177275821
Just to clarify, all three stack when using the ancient set. This is what makes ancient proficiency good, as opposed to the barbarian set that does not stack with attack up foot and elixirs, though can be used with any weapon.
>>
When I hit a guardian with a guardian weapon a weird ripple effect and bang happens at the impact point, is it doing more damage or is it just how guardian weapons hurt guardians?

I beat Calamity Ganon today.
I had done all the quests, all the shrines, found all the memories, activated all of the towers, explored a lot of Hyrule, and found some 320+ korok seeds.

51.53% is the completion it says on the map after loading up the save file that now has a star on it.

Looks like I still have more places to find, that or korok seeds count for a lot more of the completion percentage than I thought.
>>
>>177277174
72% of the completion, I think it is.
>>
>>177277043
I said against guardian enemies. The 30/50 bonus only applies to Guardian enemies. 30 for Guardian weapons, 50 for Ancient. That bonus does not apply for any other enemy type, but would still stack with attack up effects.
>>
>>177277338
Hmm, okay, now I finally realize where this confusion stemmed.

Someone earlier was talking about the ancient proficiency boost but seemed to get it mixed up with the weapons' inherent bonuses on guardians.

>>
>>177277818
Yeah. Basically what's being said here is that the inherent bonuses on Guardians stack with ancient proficiency, but that those inherent bonuses vary between 30% and 50% based on whether a Guardian weapon is used or an Ancient one. Attack up effects also add on top of these for three attack bonuses all stacking on top of each other, leading to massive damage if you say use an Ancient Sawblade against a strong Guardian enemy. Even if you are not fighting a Guardian enemy and you lose that 30/50 bonus, you can still do big damage with the +80% and +50% from a level 3 attack buff. It looks complicated at first, but once I read up on it I soon got it, though to tell the truth I don't piss about swapping out armor and such. I just deflect lasers and/or use stasis and use the Master Sword when I can. I have a crap ton of Guardian parts anyway. Don't really need more.

on the other hand, and this could easily be translation shenanigoats, the gorons refer to daruk and yunobo using words like 'ancestor' and 'descendant', and Daruk once says "as far as i know death mountain's been quiet for decades" it's not as if it would ever happen without him knowing as long as he's alive, so maybe he's less than "Decades" old. we really dont have good evidence, I don't think. all we know is that darunia is at least as old as link plus however many years it takes to be the leader of the gorons and sign a treaty

For reference:

Since Light arrows do 100, and the Twilight Bow has a base attack of 30, it SHOULD be considered a 130 ATK bow.

I must be over 100 hours in. I have no idea how to check (probably something in the system settings of the switch, like a play log, right?).
I wouldn't be surprised if I was around the 200 hour marker.

I did a lot of shrines on the way to Kakariko. I went out of my way to do shrines since I really liked the puzzles in them, that was a highlight for me.

After Kakariko I went along the mountains on my way to Hateno, never even followed the roads, just pinged the tower on my map and went in that direction. I glided from the tower all the way to the village just because I wanted to see how far I could glide.
After getting the photo album unlocked I started wandering south. I didn't take the lake bridge because the first time I saw it Farosh was flying all around it and I hadn't been spoiled, so I assumed it was a boss and worked my way around the long way.

I ended up in the jungles and found hearty durians which helped considerably. After I had explored what I could of the south eastern corner of the map I started heading north and then stumbled upon the Vah Ruta quest by accident.
By then I had 50 shock arrows so when the conversation line came up about needing 20 they were like "oh, you already have that covered it seems".
>>
>>177285301
That wasn't me and even then you misread what the guy was saying. Let me try to just spell it all out clearly since this is getting annoying

>Ancient Proficiency: Set Bonus for equipping all Ancient Armor pieces and having upgraded them twice. Grants an 80% attack increase to Guardian/Ancient weapons

>Guardian/Ancient weapons, on their own, naturally inflict more damage on guardian enemies. This is SEPERATE from the ancient armor bonus. "Ancient" (Robbie) weapons get a 50% power boost when attacking guardian enemies while "Guardian" weapons (the kinds you pick up from Test of Strength bots, including the Ancient Battle Axe confusingly) only gain a 30% boost when attacking guardian enemies

As it's also been said these bonuses can stack on top of each other and with offensive food buffs.

>>
>>177285886
honestly the problem with that one is it was so hard to tell what the shit you were supposed to do, and if you didnt do it, you fucked it up permanently without knowing it, and could struggle for hours after that
you have to leave them right where you find them, but hit them with stasis and give 'em a whack, one of the least reliable methods of moving objects, and thus one of the least likely for you to try. if instead you pick them up (they shouldnt move except with stasis, like some things don't move WITH stasis), and drop them somewhere, you're fucked. i spent so long trying to throw them up onto the plateau, and the fact that it has a little ramp-ish part where you can ALMOST do that was so misleading.
>>
>>177285427
Yeah, he doesn't do stealth, but he can usually catch up to the deer. And if you run the right direction, other deer in the spooked herd will run right towards you and you can kill them with a mele weapon. >>177286356
yeah play log. it'll give you how much you've played it in that session, then for the month. then you just check the previous month
i did any shrine i detected, and any shrine i could see.. that made it so i was rarely missing any obvious ones. the few remaining were in odd places, well-hidden, or requiring an odd sidequest that you got from, say, a rock-sign. not from a character.

>waterfall
didnt even think of that. there is one nearby isnt there

god, speaking of, that one fucking shrine behind the waterfall in the path to lanayru.. i searched for that fuck for a LONG time before finally seeing the hint: the shrine's reflection in the water.
and i swear i TRIED going behind the waterfall and it didnt work
then i tried going around the side path a few times but every time somehow missed it or fell down
>>
>>177287375
After I beat the game and it gave me the total number of quests it said I had completed 41/42 shrine quests.
And I knew I had completed all of the shrines, I had the wild set and everything, so I looked at the list and it turns out that the spiral land mass in the Akkala had a stone tablet that tells you what to do with the orb.

I saw both the pedestal and the orb from a distance and just immediately went and did it without even noticing there was a readable stone tablet near the orb that gives you a quest.
So that completed itself instantly once I got it.
Did nothing for the completion percentage though.

like i noticed the heart right away. i tried landing on it from the heart hole at different times, i tried shooting shit on it from above or landing with a spear-poke.. i hoped it didnt require a ceremonial rito spear or something..

I waited around the thing for a long time and noticed when it changed colors and the song said to light a fire, so I figured I had to light a fire while the heart hole in the shadow was being cast on it.

I don't know if you can do that before getting the clue, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could.

So like, who actually made the paraglider?

I know you get it from the king's ghost, but how did HE get it?

Or is that just one of those things they never bothered to explain in-game?
>>

Rito.

Just because raisens.

And the kite shield.

sounds valid to me.
impa probably set it up actually, when she heard link was up on a plateau and would lose his memory
she was like "okay he's.. gonna have to get DOWN from there at some point. let's get my friend Falco on it" and he was Revali's brother or something.. and he made a nice paraglider out of fireproof material and Impa was prepared to take it to him.. but she got old.. and then it disappeared one day, because ghostman took it
>>
>>177296212
I was about to suggest maybe when he died he met some other dead people from Skyloft and they clued him in on sailcloths, but.. nah, he's a ghost. he's stick on this plane til his binnis is done.
so now I think.... maybe it really was his. Maybe it's something he played with as a lad, before the royal stuff started eating up his life. he'd make periodic visits to the temple of time, run around catching bugs, and then go paragliding off the edge and play with his little Rito friend. and he feels forever guilty that he got to have a happy childhood like that while Zelda got a dead mom and a big pile of inherited responsibility

Do we know anything about the DLC dungeon? Is it related to the mobile in the Lab?
>>
>>177304214
are we even sure it's a dungeon?
what mobile? which of the two labs?
I'm hoping it goes under an existing landmark. like maybe the lab ruins, what if they had a basement? (even though they obviously didnt even have a foundation, or else dirt has filled it all in)
because it seems to me the most logical RELATED challenge (assuming they dont just give us a new unrelated villain or whatever) is a leftover guardian creature with independent programming that doesnt need to be posessed, it's just crazy so it was locked away. some kind of prototype they were studying.

i mean that or it DOESNT take place after the ending.. which is also likely
>>
>>177304445
They aren't putting content after the ending. There are unfinished players that would be upset because they couldn't play what they bought.
>>
>>177305521
fuck those players.
but okay, I guess I understand why. It's really best not to add things after a solid ending..
it's just, that means it's not going to mean shit or be very satisfying
>>
>>177306601
The point where the new content will be good, is in a couple of years when players have forgotten enough of the game to enjoy discovering it again.

considering how the King had to point Link to the direction of Impa, and otherwise Link wouldn't have any idea of where to go or what he's supposed to be doing so the whole plan hinged on the King helping Link, Impa probably knew about the King's ghost and got him the paraglilder for when Link woke up.
>>
Is it me or is Majora's Mask a much longer game than Ocarina, despite having half as many dungeons? I just realized this replaying both of them, though it may have been because I am more familiar with Ocarina. Does anyone else agree?
>>
>>177307510
I never timed them, but MM does have the feature of the overworld being dungeons in their own right.
>>
>>177307678
That and the quests before each dungeon, and all the sidequests in clock town due to there being less heart containers given by bosses. Idk but Nintendo really outdid themselves with MM. I know it gets its praise more than enough on here but it's so crazy that the game exists and is so full of content.
>>
>>177306828

i dont think so. OoT was a 60 hour game for me, granted i played it slowly as fuck. took me about 2 months, same as BotW did but I didnt have that much playing time back then. Just an average of an hour a day. dungeons often took me several days to figure out, but usually one really long multi-hour session in one day.
MM on the other hand (and granted I had a guide for it because fuck if i was going to play a game where you can actually lose progress without a guide) was a solid "sit down for a half hour, go through one 3-day cycle where you prepare for a dungeon. then another where you do the dungeon. then another where you do what you've just unlocked. repeat 4 times" for a total of 6 hours. maybe a few more for the various sidequests, a few more for the pseudodungeons, and add on a little extra for the incredibly hard puzzles.. and to be fair i never 100%d mujura's mask because several puzzles were too hard, though i actually did finally get the piece of heart in the goron-roll puzzle in the final area, just like 6-8 years ago when I decided to bust the game out again.. but that left 3 heart pieces i've never been able to get (Fuck you honey and darling)

why the fucking fuck didnt I think of that!?!?! jesus anon you get the smarty points today

but in my defense stasis misfires so hard i never think of it. Like that one place in the jungle where there's 4 pillars, mostly broken, and 4 rocks, one of which is still atop its pillar.. and your goal is to knock it down, but let it drop next to the pillar
first time i shot it WAY too far
second through 9th times, stasis apparently did nothing, no matter how many hits I got off. Baffling.
10th time was too far again
i don't actually remember how I got it off in the end, but I wanted to smack the YAHAHA right out of that korog for making me go through that.

absolutely excellent music.
it's a shame that all the non-koji-kondo music that's actually good comes from the handhelds that i'm not gonna play. whyd SS and BotW get the shaft musically?
i guess WW was non-kondo and it was great music.. but it's an anomaly in every possible way

>Zelda is afraid to pull up the covers because she's spent a century inside a pulsating heart thingy
theyre both damaged as fuuuuck. their kids are going to feel it, I think. kids notice when their parents are scarred.
>>
>>177310145
BotW's music is great in my opinion because most of the area music is meant to convey what being in that area feels like rather than being an ambient soundtrack. The riding themes are ace too

considering she didn't age at all, and her clothes even still had the mud on them, I doubt she was corporeal while she was holding back Ganon, and once his core was split she reformed herself to seal him away. Zelda had the full triforce she could basically do whatever she wanted
>>
>>177310337
meh. it's okay. but no matter how you slice it, we got shafted.

i will say it's interesting how many different battle themes we got, but no one of them was actually very good. but battle music in general tends to suck. i don't even think i've liked most of it in zelda except #2 and 5
>>177310448
yeah exactly, but it still must have really messed her up
i also severely doubt she had the full triforce, or it all would have been over a long, long time ago. also they would have mentioned it. also they wouldn't have said things like "Back when the power of the goddesses was with us"
naw that was just a triforce-shaped attack. like the final smash in smash bros, which became the fury attack.
>>
>>177310430
ok, right now zelda has given me 5 twilight bows with durability and ganondor 3 swords of sages with durability and I'm kinda tired
of reloading.
>>
>>177310568
Only battle music that's noticibly good (besides boss themes) is the miniboss music from Wind Waker.
>>
>>177310604
give me those bows nigger!
>>177310963
yeah that was playing in my head while i said that, but I couldn't remember which one it was
i love the chord progression and the sorta woodwindy bits.
i also miss synth in general. fuck orchestras. you wanna use real instruments? fine. but not huge rooms full of them, and not the same ol same ol instruments we've heard ad nauseum. kakariko's theme had a koto and a shamisen or that one weird japanese dulcimer thing you can kinda use a bow on. THAT is awesome and fun.
if you ever redid the horse race theme, the correct instruments would be a goddamn banjo and a harmonica.
and for god's sake the next time you want to orchestrate gourmet race, A) keep it in the right speed and B) use a variety of brass instruments. fuckin Melee and its disgusting 'fountain of dreams' orchestra remix ruined a generation of remixers. demanding orchestrated music is like demanding photorealism
>>
God damn, the arching minigame is a thousand times harder than it looks. I swear you're pretty much forced to use motion controls, otherwise it's almost impossible.
>>
now that we're talking about the Twilight Bow, what could be it's best modifier? +X attack, Durability Up+ or Quick Shot?
>>
I've become addicted to finding Korok Seeds. It helps that it's pretty relaxing and I have a pretty stressful job. So coming home and just searching for seeds out in the relatively calm wild is very relaxing.
>>
>>177312181
the trick is learning how to use the motion control ONLY for the fine corrections. It's honestly a brilliant scheme (that works a lot better than in starfox which blatantly cheated by making the reticle wrong), it's just hard to get used to and coordinate
which archery game, the horse one? the secret there really is to slow down at each target, then speed up. you have to get used to the subtle horse speed controls. I suggest using the giant horse.
also you can just fucking cheat by using the twilight or ancient bows, and make sure you use a bomb arrow for each double-target and for the 5-target at the end.
then, if you get to the end and you haven't hit 25 yet, don't worry or flip out. slowly turn around, turn back, and start taking careful aim at the remaining targets. don't panic. you can do it.
>>
hey guys the amiiboos reset at which time? midnight or 24 hours after it's use?
>>
>>177312269
honestly additional durability would be nice since the bow slots are so rare, and with the twilight bow it's super easy to get headshot crits every time, so damage is less vital than it otherwise is
though there is nothing like a high-powered bow since you can basically pepper any enemy with arrows and it will go down sooner or later, even lynels.
>>177312896
right? that and tracking down the remaining minibosses. the hinox shouldnt be that hard, since you can hear them, they're always among trees, and.. I mean, there's only so many places they could be. I just think I've skipped too many of them...
the iwarock are different, you just have to spam stasis (hopefully at night) and wait til you see something big light up.

>>

Dead Hand, not disgusting? he looks like he's made of raw potatiskorv. he slumps around on a footless stump of a body, and his jaw unhinges. he has eyeless sockets.. this thing is a walking wound. i have to imagine it smells like when you peel off a bandaid that's been there for a day and a half, and the wound has that yellow fibrin exudate mixed with a bunch of held-in sweat and skin cells.
and i dunno degu toad looks like she wants a nasty kiss and she's covered in salmonella. and then a bunch of gross frog eggs happen and..
hell I think the traditional big sweaty pig man ganon is a lot more gross than this thing which is barely even organic, but maybe I'm just grossed out by different things. All I can think that's nasty about this guy is the corpse aspect, but we've had way grosser corpses in every game.

Durability is fine but it shouldn't have been applied to the Master Sword, Hylian Shield and the Champion's weapons. If they stayed at the power they're at now then you'd still have plenty of reason to use other weapons besides them. Also you could have attack meals not apply to them. I'd like the races signature armour to buff them in power but that'd be the only buff they get. Basically Desert Voe buffs Urbosa's sword and Sheild so forth and etcetera for every weapon and set

>>177344073

Are you saying Mipha isn't dead, Paya didn't admit defeat to herself in the diary and Riju may just be crushing on the best and probably only Voe she's met so far? I don't ship Link with Zelda but the competition isn''t exactly fierce in this game unless you count random stable and village girls
>>
>>177344439
Paya hasn't admitted defeat. Riju hasn't shown any indicators of crushing on Link. Zelda hasn't won anything, Link has the whole world to pick from.
>>
>>177344585

So basically saying if Link ends up with Zelda she'd be okay with that isn't admitting defeat? Sounds to me like she has literally no intention of fighting for him because she reckon Zelda is a better match than her. Now she may be wrong and Link likes her but it'll be on Link to make the moves on her because she seems resigned to letting fate take it's course

Riju may or may not be crushing on Link but she certainly wants to spend more time with him doing what she loves which is any activity involving seals. On top of that her comments about "all" being pleased to see him when it's all over may be suggesting her own personal interest. I'd say Riju is a lot more up in the air compared to more obvious ones like Paya and Mipha

Link can reject Zelda but the game throws a lot of hints at them becoming a couple but stops just shy of saying they are one because like everything else in this game Link's opinion or decision are meant to be yours projected on him
>>
How do I do this fucking horse archery thing?
>>
>>177344585
Paya isn't going to make a move while Zelda is in the picture, she just won't.

Riju says something about wanting to sand seal race with Link but the game makes a big deal of the fact she's just a child so I think it's supposed to be more she looks up to Link like she wants him to be her big brother or something.
>>
>>177345640
No, it isn't. The fact that you are projecting deeper in the direction you want, is the shipper goggles.

yeah the powertag requires fiddling too. i can hear something rattling around inside, i think turning it around helps

giant horse
twilight or ancient bow, aim when reticle is dead on
if you miss, and it's behind you already, don't worry
use bomb arrow on paired targets but especially on the 5-er at the end
turn around calmly and snag the ones you missed
if using a different horse, get used to changing its speed quickly but subtly as you go
>>
>>177351970

I want some Gerudo group pics but commissioning one with all those characters and in colour would cost a pretty penny especially with my standards

does rhondson even LIKE hudson? or is she just settling to satisfy her overbearing mother?
>>
>>177345640
You think Zelda would let Link pity fuck Paya while she watches? No better way to instill loyalty to the throne.
>>
>>177352945
She does love him, if you talk to her while Terry town is being built at different points you can see their relationship develop
>>
>>177352945
She's likes him. Gerudo women just kinda scowl when their faces are at rest. You can see it all over their town.
>>
>>177352945
Pretty sure if she didn't like him at all she wouldn't marry him. If she just wanted a one night stand she could've just done that.

Seems to me the Gerudo are all settling. Perda seems like she intends to mold her guy into her ideal man so I can see that being the favoured technique among Gerudo when they get tired of searching

There also seems to be a fair few Gerudo who really don't give a shit about finding a man and only look because their mothers are pressuring them

>>177353303

What does she say because the only dialogue I've got is her immediately getting to work repairing his clothes and complaining about his perfuse sweating and how quickly he wears through them

>>177353430

She married him because her attempts at finding a man had failed her and he was the best on offer in Tarrey Town. A textbook definition of settling
>>
>>177353679
I forget everything she says but at some point she mentions Hudson brought her a pretty stone he dug up and she realizes he's really a nice man
>>

>>177355123

The only science Zelda is interested is the science of the Ancients. She may have mentioned botany and pharmacology but those were just passing fancies
>>
>>177355123
are hylians and sheikah even genetically distinct

...i dunno why i'm asking considering you're just talkin' bout fuckin
>>
>>177355389
They are just different groups of humans. On the rare occasion that the subject comes up, they attribute the pointy ears to their religion. By the time of LttP/LoZ/AoL, a lot of people have round ears so Link is surprised to discover he is Hylean.
>>
>>177353264
nah paya has to wait for their firstborn son. she gets to be his nursemaid, like impa was. then /ss/
>>177354058
i would just say genetically incompatible.
>>177354217
i think it's pretty clear gorons are just golems. at first it was ambiguous, but as of TP they dont even breathe, but are surprised by this. if they werent such an ancient race i'd say they were constructed by someone
>>
>>177355389

Sheikah have been around since Skyward Sword so either their genes are as dominant as the Gerudo or there's a lot of them. Of course they may be bred out of existence now because the Calamity and the Split and they've started taking foreign wives
>>
>>177354113
it really is unreasonable how this game expects you to go everywhere 30 times when everywhere once takes over 100 hours
>>177355721

er more like they attribute it to the goddess. that's almost the reverse
>>
>>177355721

>>
>>177356002
i mean they continue to exist because they have a distinct culture they cling to and maintain that identity. it's entirely possible their actual racial makeup has changed considerably over the years

yeah that's what i mean, i always assumed sheikah were culturally distinct rather than genetically
>>
>>177356289
>>177356440

Sheikah being a culture is something I can get behind but they have that distinct white hair not shared with any other race just like the Gerudo and their red hair. This game has cemented them as a race rather than an order like the past games suggested

>>
>>177356691
and obviously they're still descendants of the first sheikah
but they've probably had additions to the gene pool over time, is all. and you never see any as tan as SS impa any more, so those genes might have migrated out somewhere, yknow?
>>
>>177356730
almost.. the eyes look odd..
>>177356957
on the giant horse, yes. on any other horse, i'd say the speed below the top speed and don't gallop. at least at first, while you practice.
>>
Should I get the ancient set as soon as I have the resources or wait until later? Also how durable is the ancient bow?
>>
>>177357869

RNG is what she'll ask for next. Once she's asked for it she won't change her mind until you give her what she wants

>>177358017

I think that's down to design changes rather than genetic drift like the Gerudo eye colour
>>
>>177358156
it's pretty awesome, and arguably easier to get materials for (gears aside) than the only other armor that strong available early (soldier armor, which has no bonus and requires a fuckton of difficult lizalfos tails)
i mean the amber earrings.. you can get those early.. and theyre pretty easy to upgrade, no star pieces required. you can also get a free diamond circlet but that's much harder to upgrade
i dunno man it's up to you.
>>
>>177358156
The set is good for beating guardians, and its boost is specifically for beating guardians. That makes it useful for getting parts to upgrade itself specifically. Once you've collected the parts to upgrade the set, you won't need to use the set for anything anymore.

>>
>>177358574
i like some of it better than other bits.
>>177358826
i think that's why they left those rocks alone, whereas all the other parts of their architecture are carefully cut stone. some weird rock formation thang that would leak if you started cutting it up
>>
>>177358826
A leftover from the SS era. Skyloft had their own version of this, so it stands to reason that the Gerudo island would have had something similar.

well Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Link Between Worlds adnBreath of the Wild imply there are hybrids (in BotW you can see Jerrins children selling you stuff at sky-high prices), in PH you have Jolenne which until this day is theorized to be of Gerudo descendance, on ST you have that blacksmith that looks a lot like Ganondorf, and on LBW you have the "Sages" that are supposedly descendants from OoT sages hell just look at fucking Rosso!
>>
>>177359602
i dont know.. maybe it's actually meltwater from the highlands, that would at least explain the pressure. the highlands are a lot higher than that fountain. youd just have to restrict it somehow
i know desert people have had underground water tunnels for ages.. what do they call them? it was in an archie ninja turtles comic once.
>>
>>177360467
man if rosso IS part-goron that means he's made of like... rocky meat
>>
>>177359894
now that i'm looking at it, the fact that the rock has a narrow stem means it might be one of those natural wind formations or it might be something carved, but either way they prolly think it's neat so they build around it

I mean his face looks freaky, but really he's just a combination of guardian parts and malice goop, both of which you're likely to have seen a lot of at this point.

The "grossest" Zelda enemy I would have to say is Dead Hand. It's a freakish mound of rotting flesh that sounds weird, looks weird, and animates like a bunch of bones are crunching around in it. And its got a freaky face, too.
