Previous thread >>233121902

>What the heck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as Rimworld, Hollow Knight, A Hat in Time, Slay the Spire, Heat Signature, LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, Slap City, OneShot, Kenshi, Age of Decadence, Tooth and Tail, VA-11 HALL-A, Subnautica, FTL, Cultist Simulator, Machinarium, DashBored, Dead Cells, Darkwood, Card City Nights 2, Braid, Monolith, Rain World, Axiom Verge, Lobotomy Corp, Guacamelee, Graveyard Keeper, The Desolate Hope, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles. Absorbed the /lite/ general some time ago and /jrpg/ is welcome. Idle games are cool too.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads, however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

underrail

what if tchort had an energy shield?

a massive one, powered by two generators (just like the mutagen tanks) that each recharge x power per round
double high frequency, high efficiency energy converter, AND amplifier, all high quality

this might keep snipers/bursters/psi from killing him in one round, while not affecting other builds much at all (crossbows in the middle, as usual)

This idea has potential. Would also make the Phase Gun a lot more useful. The question is, what about EMPs? If you could drain the whole shield with them, any build capable of killing Tchort in 1 turn could still do it. Maybe 2 turns at most.

If they go up against tchort with an emp equipped, good for them. If not, that's valuable time they're wasting to switch to one. Also the shield recharges and the damage done to tchort with it is not that much.

Tchort had 2000 hp when I fought him on hard, I *think*. Haven't seen him on DOMINATING yet, but I'd guess 4000? An amplified x2 high frequency shield will block what, 500? Tchort supposedly has good mech DR; what's the highest sniper damage crit you've ever seen?

My 2017 with 8.6 reaper, but this was a long time ago and without Expedition. I'm pretty sure I could achieve ~2000 Aimed Shot/Snipe with specializations. And shoot 6 times in 2 turns.

>>
>>233608471
Psi kills him with a combo of Psychokinesis and Thought Control, a shield wouldn't change anything. Worst case scenario they'd have to kill it with TC only, but even then 4 turns should be all a psyker needs, and unless they get killed on turn 1 they always get 4 free turns.

But to change this you'd need some kind of psi nullifier or something, so yeah. And I really like the idea. He is sitting on the power supplies, so why not give him shield generators. It would be cool.

>>233615548
>The question is, what about EMPs?
Make them at least resistant to EMP if not outright immune, maybe make the effect depend on the strength of the EMP. It would be more interesting if you'd have to take down the generators to get rid of it entirely. Would make a good hacking or electronics challenge if we could get around the no-interacting-with-computers-in-combat limitation, but I guess it'd be another blow 'em up thing. Still good.

Though maybe it could become a hacking challenge if the second entrance through Eidein's passage was added. Tchort would probably consider that route secure enough to not worry about a terminal there.

The community is pretty small even at peak hours so its difficult to find people who aren't try hards, If we're lucky Asha will bring in enough newcomers and ranked mode will keep tournament players busy so casuals can have fun in lobbies. If you want to play it safe and find more people who are also new to the game I'd wait, but playing the game earlier and learning in Free for All lobbies will make playing Asha on release more enjoyable.

So if you want to try Slap before the new character, look up how to get your controller(s) to work if you plan on using one just in case it doesn't work from the start. The game's Library is actually useful, it can teach you how to play, see some character specific moves and understand advanced mechanics in case you aren't familiar with platform fighters like Smash.

Thanks, but really I was just winging it off my first few card pick-ups, because I had no idea how the class worked. Since the run unlocked some poison cards, hopefully I can give that a shot when I next play.

The game's systems feel really tightly designed, and I hope that persists as I come across more content. So far, it seems like more variation than in FTL (in terms of what you come across / chance to specialize), and without all the lack of information in something like Binding of Isaac (couldn't stand not knowing what all the stuff I was picking up was doing).

Yeah, I was watching an LP of Darkest Dungeon just to see what that game was like, and it seems to me that there would be dozens of complete screw-jobs in your first playthrough. In Slay the Spire or FTL, being surprised by a boss/encounter just teaches you for your next run, and you're only out an hour or two at most.

But in Darkest Dungeon you might fight a boss once, lose two key party members to an unexpected mechanic, and not be able to apply that hard-won knowledge until your next full playthrough.

>>233656208
I realized halfway through I might have been able to scrape it if I had thought a little more about his ability. I had the Necronomicon (doubles first 2+ cost attack each turn) and 2 or 3 2-cost attacks in my ~35 card deck. Now I have to wonder if I had just stalled/dug for those cards each turn, if I could have made it. Don't think I could have mustered enough block to survive anyway though.

I don't think I ever heard "I Am Satan" in the game. It's intense. "Joy Boy" is too quiet. "Last Call Before Hell" is more of a sound collage than a song but still very good. It brings a very abstract faded sound. "Lord" falls into the elysian side of this soundtrack. It's a slight song with a quiet bassy organ. "Men At Work" is a neat quirky song. Very wonky. "Work Harder" is a JAM. Hoo-uh! "Muddy Waters" is a nice strange tune. Kind of like Tom Waits if he was rowing a boat through a swamp. "My Lord, My Wally" is a standout. Very quiet elysian synths. It's so beautiful and it works so well in the game contrast to fighting a grotesque foe. "Ode to the Oblivious" is a fun organ track. Pretty catchy. "Ollie's" is just a silly trumpet riff.

"Pebble Man" is catchy but also annoying. When the beats come in the song gets better. Then the chorus comes in and it's _awesome._"Praise Wally" is another quiet but atmospheric track with elysian hums and synths. "Rando March" is a nice intense track. When that creeping bass comes in and switches to harsh noise, that's where it gets ya. "Rando Road" was decent. Pretty cinematic. "Shardy's Shanty" is annoying. Even after the song takes off I don't like. "Soft Skin" is one of the best songs on the soundtrack. It is a deep atmospheric dark ambient masterpiece. So many shades of discomfort. "Steel Mill" is weird but unique. "Summer Breeze" is... uh. "Wierd Sh!t" is pretty solid. A very thumpy quirky track. "Super Working Stiff" is interesting. Didn't love it. Unique samples.

Well, first experience is as goes.
5 races, 4 planned, 1 implemented (humans)
Difficulty seems to be tied to how you start your play, i.e. hardest is a solo farmer, easiest is a group of settlers
4 biomes, one unimplemented.
You generate a "realm" and then choose a location within.
Reminds me more of Towns, that old abandonware than anything else. Takes a bit to get used to being able to control your villagers, and be careful about leaving items across the map, walk speeds are slow (characters have to spend about .5 seconds to crawl up a slope, which really adds up if you're on a heavily mountainous map), they can really only carry one item at a time.
Also, hope that you don't spawn on an island offshore on a map, as far as I can tell there is no way to get back to land if there are no trees.
I don't think fishing works as a mechanic, I haven't explored it too much, and frankly I doubt I could find a way to make it work. Digging into a mountain also seems to be the most viable choice for survival.

>>
>>233701647
It's probably THE early access game that gave the rest of them a bad name, been abandoned for at least 3 years now.
I had fun with it, probably the one thing that got me into simulation/management games.
And HOLY SHIT do people breed fast in this game
I started with 8 settlers, now I have almost 12 children that can't do anything but haul.
Maybe that was the dev's solution to being able to carry 1 item at a time.
en mass child labor.
>>
>>233701881
Same here. It was the game that introduced me to Dwarf Fortress-lite.
Funnily enough, while I even managed to try Dwarf Fortress (before my dwarves drowned because I pierced a lake), I also tried Gnomoria, and never managed to do anything with it.

Man, that sucks. And I though Inescapable was shit.
>>
>>233701979
Gnomoria is in a weird spot, it's presentation is rather simple, but to do anything effectively you've got to be pretty skilled at the game.
I only ever succeeded in making a kingdom once, built inside of a mountain, and it got overrun by spiders. Feeding livestock is needlessly complex as well as building anything at all. Maybe I'm just an idiot.
Anyway, Odd Realm is worth a try, just have to be a bit patient with it as you learn the ropes.
>>
>>233702356
I'm rather fond of Rimworld, but ultimately, I think these games aren't for me. I'm too much of a shitter to bother setting up defenses, so my villages never become fortress.
>>

is there a temporal manipulation trainer at SGS? If not, how far into the game?
>>
>>233723438
I meant the launcher. Whenever I tried getting help from the Elder Scrolls General, it boiled down to "the vanilla launcher suck, get another one", yet nobody was able to explain why I needed another one, or why most of the mods aren't on the workshop.

And it pisses me off, because there was a mod, Exposure or something, that added cold and cloaks as gameplay mechanisms, and I never got it to work because I'm computer illiterate. Actually no, I'm just lazy and I hate doing things without understanding what I'm doing.
>>
>>233723635
Sounds like explaining anything to you would be a waste of effort. But I shouldn't judge on first appearances.

>nobody was able to explain why I needed another one
You need third-party solutions for sorting your mod load order (to avoid potential mod incompatibilities, ie. to keep shit working at all) and making bashed patched (combining changes from mods that alter the same lists, this is rather common)

>why most of the mods aren't on the workshop.

Oh. Right. I often forget there are people who don't want Steam.

It requires some Script Extender thing that needs to be loaded before Frostfall, and thus requires a specialized launcher.
So to have one mod, I need to install three things.

Okay, with 135 skill, and with 18 perception (super soldier), the character builder says damage would be 307% the weapon's damage. High technicalities with 10 int adds 40%, I'm assuming it just stacks to 347% ?

Execute does 250% weapon damage, opportunist adds an extra 25%, smart goggles adds about 35% and smart module is usually double that much (so I've heard)?, about 70%

How does that all add up?

I remember Oblivion being worse, but the fact that I went for shield + sword might have played. Most of the fights were "protect, attack, protect, attack".
Man, I really want to try another playthrough, but this time, abusing potions and poisons.

The problem is that bows are hard to balance. I remember trying to take down a big monster in Oblivion, a Draegoth or something like that. Took around 50 arrows to die. Bows don't work in RPGs because they fit to a FPS gameplay where fights are short and violent, whereas RPGs are about using your wits and skill to win rather than your reflexes.

Far Cry has awesome bows. You can go full Rambo in these, starting from the third one. They kill almost any human opponent in one hit, and you also have incendiary and explosives arrows.
There's also Thief, through it's more of a tool than a weapon here.

>>233733768
The main interest of bows in Oblivion is for delivering poison.
And in Skyrim, to be a stealth archer.
>>
>>233734446
Far Cry and Thief were already mentioned, so maybe Crysis 3.
>>
>>233731126
Archery in Dragon's Dogma is very fun and versatile, and the most broken OP thing in the game if you know what you're doing.
>can be a Ranger with a big ass longbow firing volleys of 10 arrows at a time, AoE hails, or slow-mo guided charged arrows
>can equip blast arrows which when fired with Tenfold Flurry kill anything you want in seconds, or the Maker's Finger arrow which can oneshot literally anything at only 1mil G a pop
>can use daggers too which allow you to spin like a buzzsaw in midair and shred whole bars of health off dragons with each saw
>can be a Magick Archer too and fire homing magic bolts with a magick bow
>MA can fire clusters of richochet bolts down hallways which will blender anything in any indoors space
>MA can also set themselves on fucking fire with a dagger skill and cling to cyclop's eyes to cripple them
Seriously this game is astoundingly unique and fun, and not only when it comes to archery.
Shame about the tiny world though, where's my sequel/spiritual successor Capcom

If you've got extra money to spare, you could pick up Far Cry 2 as well. It's a lot less polished gameplay wise and you can run into gamebreaking bugs here and there, but the setting and atmosphere are excellent. It's a bit like STALKER in that regard.

That'll probably fuck you out of magick archer for the most part because your magic strength didn't receive many gains from your fighter class levels, although ranger is very much an option.
>map wasn't huge
The problem is that the WIP concept they presented once had a world map probably 5x the size at least with more variety than grasslands and mountains. Most of it got the axe sadly when Capcom moved a bunch of manpower away to fix DmC (the Donte one) leaving DD as released feeling like a tech demo to what could have been. The game still has a lot of good in it and there's nothing quite like it but it makes me wistful to think about.

Dragon's Dogma Online is JP only, although you can play it outside with a VPN active during launcher verification and patches. There's a fan translation patch and unofficial US/EU server as well which piqued my interest because I don't know moonrunes.

Wouldn't it be grindy as shit if it's an MMO though?
>>
>>233738469
They were moving on to another project after finishing up early access, yes. I guess they've had a change of heart since we've had news of this content drop starting last July.
>25% bigger world
>half a dozen new beast-type enemies
>bunch of weapons to flesh out some gaps like twohanded maces and flails, polehammers and a fencing sword
>armor attachments
>a dozen new unique locations
>new backgrounds, events, OST, some balance changes
I put 350 hours or so into the base game and loved all of it besides the ironman wipes and pike Legionaires. This new stuff is all the excuse I need to start up another 80 hr campaign or two.
>>
>>233739495
From what I've heard it's a bit grindy but not Nexon MMO tier. There's the usual MMO events and hubs and whatever but the gameplay is all instanced with you+combo of 3 pawns or players. There's some interesting vocations too like a spellsword, magic lance user and an alchemist with a gauntlet.

I haven't looked too closely at Hamlet yet I'm gonna wait until after EA but I know it has some dungeons to explore that's different from the regular caves and there's a town system with shops and npc's. Also there's a house you can buy to renovate and live in.
I don't know how much of that would interest you.
I thought I heard something about being able to build a portal to travel between the regular world, hamlet and shipwrecked but I can't speak to how true that is.

"Tallgrass Tussle" was very good. Love that chanting vocal sample. "The Art Of Flesh" is a grotesque yet melodic tune. "The End Is Nigh" is masterful. Combines cinematic, abstract, and symphonic sounds into one powerful song. How "The Highway King" develops is very interesting. Song is solid. "The Sireen's Call" is like the other 'Call' songs except very noisy. "Bo's Bro" is nice...? "Vroom Vroom" is pretty cool. Lots of high pitched synths. "Welcome Home" is a quieter sullen track. "Welcome To Hell" is in a similar vein, except with more buzzing and noise. It's an amazing track. "Welcomed Death" is an experimental track. A collage of sound effects.

This shouldn't trigger me so hard. I got used to the input lag, but I hate the fact that it's there and it makes some sections/bosses ass when I'd be smiling otherwise. At least the devs are still updating the game and seem to be aware of the problem.

It's probably Unity's fault. It's always Unity.

Forgot to answer >>233745690. I'd say that Don't Starve avoids the treadmill you describe, or it at least provides enough other content besides the treadmill so that it feels less like a grind and more like exploring and finding new shit to see, hear, and do. I never got too far into the game, though, so maybe it gets worse, idk. Try taking a dive through the reviews and the wiki. That usually gives a good measure of how a 'survival' game actually plays and progresses.

>Collect items to make gear that lets you collect more shit
Not really. It's more about exploring and developing your progress planning on how to engage and react to the dangers of the world of the game.

Like learning what you'll need first to survive the night, choosing where to set camp, what to develop first and exploring, gaining resources so you won't starve or go crazy, learning what animals are useful and to what. Exploring the world is an great experience by itself, I love the artstyle and there are so many things simply in the base game that after 50 hours I don't think I've seen not even half of them.
And then seasons will change the world and you will better be prepared.

It's really a great game, maybe the best survival game ever made.

>>233745690
Not really. Rather than trying to collect new materials to improve your stuff, you try to collect new stuff to build new stuff. So the spear you craft quickly is still useful until the end of the game.

most feature complete while maintaining the classic sprites, art style, and feel. wizard towers and the way domain worked are good mechanics and SM is better than 2. best multiplayer, best mods (including MP), best looking.

i finally started playing 3 just a few days ago after being completely turned off by the horrible visuals and it's actually pretty fun but the soulless art and completely generic heroes are major drawbacks. i hope there's a mod to fix the latter at least. and now theyre making another soulless scifi AOW smdh the sprite were so much more engaging and had so much more character.

If you're worried about fires, put two tiles of uninflammable materials between your building.
If you're playing in anything that isn't peaceful, consider building a wall around your base, but make sure your "home area" or whatever it's named doesn't extend beyond the wall, otherwise pawns will bross said wall to clean mud or something.
Start by growing rice, and cotton. Rice is nice and grow relatively easily, and cotton is very good, and needed in almost everything.
Having a table and enough chairs for everyone makes you save some spirit for your pawns.

Look for a temperate forest at first.

I actually had that in mind when I start up the game, like some sort of self-sustaining small fortress with small agricultural lands within.
My only worry if building a wall would be costly

>>
>>233853803
Yeah, they're called pawns, because of the artstyle.
>some sort of self-sustaining small fortress with small agricultural lands within
Oh, don't worry, it's pretty easy to get a lot of food. Start with rice or potato, and then move on to corn. Corn lasts a while uncooked, so you won't be forced to freeze it. Just always have at least 6 meals ready at all time (total colony population x 2).
You might still want to have some freezing system later.

Also, I forgot a few annoying recommendations :
- pick pawns that are redundant, you don't want to lose your only pawn able to hunt,
- try not to get mad at the shitty RNG who has your ultra-skilled pawn make a shitty meal that gave everyone diarrhea,
- the batteries, don't leave them outside, and don't leave them charged at 100% all the time. They don't like rain.
>>
>>233854248
>- try not to get mad at the shitty RNG who has your ultra-skilled pawn make a shitty meal that gave everyone diarrhea,
Dont worry, I mastered Darkest Dungeon, so the tides of RNG wont bother me
>- the batteries, don't leave them outside, and don't leave them charged at 100% all the time. They don't like rain.
Who leaves batteries outside in the rain?

Anyways, like I always do, I always start in the most 'Normal' difficulty, my only question is that if I should priorize self defense over self sustainability at first instance, I always gravitate towards the self defense, but if walls are enough to fend out any wild critter out there, then I could just do a farmland first.
>>
>>233854667
>Dont worry, I mastered Darkest Dungeon, so the tides of RNG wont bother me
The annoying thing with Rimworld is that it can be difficult to figure what's RNG and what can be avoided. Batteries exploding : RNG or not? I'm not sure.
>Who leaves batteries outside in the rain?
I did. Now I don't do it anymore. Not sure if leaving them charged plays or not, but I really got a lot of explosions, so I'm pissed at it.
>>
>>233854897
So it's possible that brand new batteries, well conservated in a dry, cold environment simply explode out of the nowhere without a proper reason or justification?
Because that's dumb, not even DD does that

Fully charged batteries have a chance of a 'zzt' event that blows up a random power cable and discharges all power from the batteries. IIRC, can be avoided by putting a switch next to the battery bank and only taking power from it when can't produce enough, like at night when solar goes out.

Keep you base brightly lit, low brightness heavily effects you pawn's movement speed. Bright light also decreases the chance of an infestation in mountain bases.

When crafting, have bills set to drop the product, so haulers can take it to storage instead of the crafter. This Improves efficiency vastly.

Rice is good if you need food fast, but corn has a much higher yield, so grow corn if you have time to.

Keep chem-fuel and mortar shells far away from anything flammable and in a stone room with no power cables near it, this can save a colony from a chain detonation.

Sappers will dig holes into your base, and will choose a path with the least turrets and walls (even un-powered turrets). Consider making sapper bait weak spots in a walled base with sandbags a bit behind the wall for drafted pawns to use.

>>
>>233858153
ah, forgot to specify. Sappers are a raider sub-type that spawn mid to late game. they have a sapper pawn with grenades or another alike weapon that will blast through walls and such to get into your base
>>
>>233858810
A good tactic is to get some good combat pawns and just go outside your base and flank them while they dig, or throw a few mortars at them and hope you get enough in one or two hits to route them.
>>
>>233858315
Raids scale with number of colonists, all buildings, and all items. If you have low wealth, you'll get small raids.
>>
>>233858810
Lots of ways. Usually out of a whole raid only a couple people will be sappers. You can just snipe them, use an ancient artifact (rare, single use weapons, most often bought from traders) to instantly incapacitate them, try to hit them with a mortar, etc. They aren't any stronger than regular raiders, or anything, they just get the special ability to break shit fast.

Dragon's Dogma is really swingy, and the earlygame is brutal. If an enemy has a breakable part, like a dragon's horn, cyclope's tusk or eye, target it. For Saurians, this is their tails.

If you want to be a great warrior, take the Assassin class as soon as possible. It has the best offensive power overall and this helps a tremendous amount in this game. It also helps if your character is small or even a child, as they have the stamina needed to use it well. The damage formula is basically attack - defense, which is why it's so swingy. You'll pretty much be a glass cannon for most of the game, so focus more on avoiding attacks than tanking hits, and bring gear that boosts attack power.

Lastly; rusted swords are really good when upgraded, they'll slow anything to a crawl.
>>
>>233871831
I'd suggest picking a "real" weapon for melee and using a rusty bow instead. With the three-arrows-in-one-shot, you can easily inflict statuts to big monsters.

And yeah, assassins are good. They're versatile, can use swords+shield or sword+bow, and have a lot of skills that can distract or interrupt casters.
>>
>>233868286
The awkward thing is, killing stuff later only becomes easier if you kill the hard stuff earlier. But like they said, cut the tails on saurians. That first encounter in the well sucks a bunch even if you do know to, but it extra sucks if you don't.
>>
>>233872362
The well is a piece of shit because saurians can go invisible if they have their tails, but the well is also really dark.

>>
>>233873262
No, pick pawns that can complement you. Mages are good, and so are fighters, but try to avoid archers. In my opinion, archers pawns are useless, if you need an archer, be the archer yourself, but don't rely on pawns to attack from a range. Pawns don't have any initiative, and won't snipe enemies, they'll engage them as soon as they're in short range, but if you want to snipe them, play as an archer or a mage.
That's why assassin is nice, it's a versatile class with a bow in case you need it, like with iron golems.

What's the best way to siege a town out of curiosity? I've tried setting up mortars & establishing a firing line behind some sandbags with heavily gunned/armored pawns, but usually winds up getting overrun or my pawns mowing down enough of them for them to retreat.

Is The Defect's echo form broken? One run I picked up an echo form & white noise and more often than not I wound up getting 3 echo forms stacking on top of each other. I killed the second boss just from the static electricity alone because I had so much of it stacked & powered up by consuming orb slots to power them up (had the relic that gives you a slot after a certain number of turns).

"The Band's Call" was pretty special. "Life Is Trash" is so weird it gets my approval. "Working Stiff" is annoying. "Hernandez Ocean" too. "Power Mountain" was solid. Didn't love it. "Balloon Man" goes to some interesting places. "Wonder Wizard" is cool. "Bill Collectors" is good. "Sunset Express" is very groovy. "Death Queen" was elysian. "Cinder Sluggan" was good. "Biscuits n' Gravy" was intense. "Go Home Boys" was fun. "Man's Worst Friend" was scary. "Cosmic Boys" was trippy. "Hot Soup Baby" was elysian. "Foreign Objection" was annoying. "Crossbones" was okay. "Zaladin" was interesting. "Live In Joy" is a sad quiet ending theme. "God's Call" is the title theme. Uses the 'Call' motif. Pretty good. Overall an eccentric wild soundtrack with many classic songs.

>>

We go through this every single time it gets an update. It starts getting regular threads on /v/ and takes over /indie/ for a month or so and then falls off the face of the earth again. In a couple weeks it won't have enough people to support its own general and then it'll have to reintegrate back into /indie/ anyway. Might as well just keep it here and let them bump the thread.

Pretty lights yay.

>Evasion: When the enemy targets your character and misses, that character gains 5 lp x the modifier until the above mentioned LP pool is depleted.
>Armor: When the enemy hits your party member, that character gains learning points equal to damage resisted by the armor until the pool is depleted, so the heavier the armor the faster you’d develop the skill.
>Keep in mind that the pool is the same for both Evasion and Armor, so which skills gain learning points depends on which characters will be targeted first and whether the enemies hit or miss.

This sounds like something that could become very annoying if you want to focus on evasion instead of armor.
>>
>Sixpence (British Coin)
>The sixpence (6d; /ˈsJkspəns/), sometimes known as a tanner or sixpenny bit, is a coin that was worth one-fortieth of a pound sterling, or six pence.

...Oh.
>>
>>233937080
Yeah, it sounds like it will pretty much boil down to luck at low levels. Get unlucky and hit a lot, you are an armor guy. Get lucky misses from enemies, you're an evasion guy. It can also lead to very weird metas where you purposefully let evasion guys get attacked by enemies with low hit chance.

Learn-by-use skill systems are hard to do right as is, I don't think they should include defensive skills at all.
>>
based alice working the gamerdude marks
>>
>>233939002
What baffles me most is that unless I've missed something, CSG's learn-by-use skill system won't even have skill tagging. That could at least balance out random chance, somewhat. As is it feels like the system favors armor, because you can level it faster by taking heavier ones. But for evasion it's just down to waiting for misses.
>>
>>233940301
>What baffles me most is that unless I've missed something, CSG's learn-by-use skill system won't even have skill tagging.
It should be like AoD where you get a pool of points to distribute at character creation, so you can start with high evasion.

Because some people get involved into events, and for them, it become so important that they believe that their "fight" is more important than everything else, so they want you to support them. They don't care about whether or not you're not interested, or if you think there are more important fights to fight for, they believe they are in the right, and that everything they do is right because they are leading the good fight. It's a mindset similar to "you're with me or against me", so in their mind, if you don't support them, you're against them, and a cis white scum whatever.

It's sad to say, but this is how bigots are. They believe they're more important, and they try to push their problems on everyone else, never noticing how much of a bother they are.
And then there's also the fact that this particular psycho is a complete fucking bitch who tried to make money for an obscure "charity" for people who don't really need it.
