The battle audio rework for the Orcs is fantastic.

What I don't like so much is the audio rework for the Dark Elves.
They moved the deep voiced DRUUCHI so that it only plays when hit Start Battle instead of every time you select your units. The new Dark Elf voices just don't sound as imposing when you select multiple units.

Nothings really giving me trouble. I've got 600 hours in tww2. I just for some reason am having trouble sticking with any of the vc lords. It's almost like they have too much going on. Do I take territory or just coves? do I focus on horde buildings or settlements? do i do treasures or go for pieces of 8?

It's not really a design issue but they just feel a lot more busy than the other factions. Which isn't a bad thing, just takes some getting used to I guess.

The last few times I have updated drivers its tanked my frame rate on the games i was playing fine at 4k. I can't come up with a decent army comp for Noctilus for roaming and getting ready for the final. Help? I'm finding Depth Guard just don't really last that long to be line holders and deckhands hold the line longer, so I'm wondering if I should just trade them out for more Rotting Prometheans. They seem to hold very well, though that puts me vulnerable to anti-large...

So far I'm using the Carronade and my 2 necrofex (Noctilus's mount) as targeted single model anti-large which works fine, and then the polearms can try to catch any cavalry but if I put them to guard the bess/carronade, my front line is looking very weak. I've been trying a checkerboard pattern which sorta works but I just feel I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks here and I don't have any coordinated strategy

Depth Guard are next to useless. As you say, deckhands make a better anvil provided you can drop Invocation of Nehek on them and generally gunnery mobs can out-damage them. Stick a gunnery mob at point-blank behind an engaged enemy and they'll disappear almost immediately.

Personally, looking at that army, I'd swap 'em for some mortars. Mortars are good.

Light only needs Light of Battle and Net for peak TK effectiveness. Thats 2 levels. Nehek is substantially more but you can get by with 1 passive and a buff. Obviously you dont want to casually dump a hero because things like Birona or the Nehek buffs are balance tipping, but losing a Liche Priest is far less devastating than a Lizard Wizard, Vampire or Spellweaver.

Every time the AI respawns that tier-1 stack as the "new" faction's starting army, and then you can kill it without having to move your lords since they're already in attack range.

The only limit on how long you can do this is your patience, which might wear thin with all the lag from the over-filled event log.

I'm fairly confident I could do a ~50 turn WC using this on pretty much any faction, so long as they can vassalize and there's someone nearby their starting area to do it too.

I guess you can think of it more that elves are all far too proud to do something like train with firearms when bows have a strong religious component to it. Which isn't nothing, but the issue is Queek already has high MA and had a high bonus, so its not like he had a real problem hitting things. Going from like 70% chance to hit even Chaos Warriors to 86% isn't exactly a proportionally large buff to damage output. Meanwhile he still has middling melee defense, and will still get punished by anything large or anything on a mount. And being a foot lord he's not even a good lord hunter. And he costs too much for what he brings.

So he's still queek neverpicker, except sometimes vs dwarfs (but skrolk is still probably better there).

p enjoyable race, I never did not have something to do, raid one factions territory, ditch it to go raid another, amass 100k+ in the first 30~ turns, problems are because your units are so overevaluated for auto battle you end up skipping 90% of battles, also Noctilus' quests for his item was so asinine I never completed it (who the hell wants to raid for like 12 turns for 4k when you can get that much from sacking a single settlement??)

also your power spike is so fast, if your in a mp game with someone playing these guys kill em asap because you can start rolling out dozens of depth guard and terrorgheists easy

As I said, those are actually seperate assets. If you look in the data files they're going to have their own name and location. The VC's empire troops are just the empire crossbows, the same exact asset. They probably don't want to create some new asset for it because they're not meant to be "real" VC units, so its not like you can pick them in quick battles or whatever. Also, CA is incompetent so theres probably some dumb ass process about asset additions that takes 300% more time and effort than it ought to.

The floating camera angle is complete bs to be honest. You should be stuck in first person perspective with your general so that'd make a hill very important to be able to look over your forces. And then you'd need to make sure to plan ahead with your messengers if you need to change the way your plan is going or warn your archers they're getting flanked.

I dunno man, i was more or less just using gunpowder in the campaign. Syreens are amazing for slowing down the enemy. Mournghouls do a good job at killing, deck droppers are pretty much pistolier outriders except flying.

Honestly, i had the biggest success going full out gunpowder with minimal chaff, a mournghoul hero to slow the enemy advance with his slows(built as a pure tank), the rest is overwhelming them by spreading around to guarantee good shooting angles on all my units.

Artillery is how you win, it's the most important part of the roster.
The gunnery wight is essential because of that.
Normal gunnery mobs are fine, ones with handguns are great ap and ones with bombs are trash vs 99% of things.
The weapon team gunners with the small unit count are great and will shred anything.
Depth guard are great with campaign buffs if you screen them so they don't get shot.
Mournghoul hero is amazing, normal unis are good.
Never used syreens.
Animated hulks are trash but easy to get.
Deck droppers are really fragile and I never really felt I needed the utility they add.
Crabs are good at tarpitting, big crabs are even better.
Bloated corpses are basically cheating, the AI doesn't understand them and you will always get value from them.

Syreens: great unit, can hold lines for a long time against fellow chaff, cheapish, good for holding units in place for guns
