I sold my Turok rage wars grey cart, Pokémon stadium 2, Rayman ps1, sonic adventure and a ps1 controller I don't need. The turok was worth 100-300 dollars, but no one has ever bought one for the highest price on eBay the seller still has his ten sealed copies sitting in his house. I didn't like or play rayman, sonic, and already have pokeomon stadium 1 which is the same game to me.

Which leaves turok. I hated that game too and didn't even know it was worth anything until the day before I traded it in. I bought it for 3.99 at GameStop a long time ago and literally played the first level once and never touched it again. I got 75 bucks for it and I'm happpy bc now I got my Area 51 to play!!

I'm not a collector as in I collect just for the sake of having it, I only buy or keep the shit I actually like and continue to play, you know? So losing 50 bucks I could have gotten if I sold on eBay leant matter to me very much. Especially if I needed to wait possibly months before someone bought it.

yeah i went there saturday, awesome place. i met the owner there he was the one who negotiated with me. the saturn was $80, ultimate MK3 was $30, area 51 was $35, solar eclipse was $20, myst was $9, NHL98 was $6, and both dreamcast games were 6 bucks.

i traded my turok rage wars for 75, pokemon stadium 2, rayman ps1, sonic adventures no case, and a ps1 controller for 40 bucks. which paid for the saturn and 2 games. im not a fan of rayman or sonic, both of which i got for free from a friend long time ago and never played them and i dont have a ps1 to use the controller so i basically got 40 bucks for my pokemon stadium 2 which is the going price on ebay.

Ohhhh godddd why did I read this this late when I'm so tired. My anxiety.

>Rage Wars: 200 dollars at minimum
>Stadium 2: 30 dollars at minimum
>Rayman PS1: 5 dollars (worthless online)
>Sonic Adventure: 7 dollars (worthless online)
>PS1 Controller: 10 dollars

Anon... That means you gave him like 250 dollars worth of merchandise at MINIMUM, instant sale prices... PLUS ANOTHER 78 DOLLARS... So lets say 330 dollars... for a Model 1 Sega Saturn, with controller/hookups, and literally worthless games.

Anon you paid 330 dollars for a 60 dollar console.

Anon why.

Why did you do this.

I would have listed it all on Ebay for you for 10% of the profits.
>>
>>4312423
Awful """deal""" I got my Saturn earlier this year for 60 with 2 controllers, and 8 actually good games.
>>
>>4320194
Those games are my childhood, just because it's "westshit" doesn't mean it has no value to me. Stop looking at the one NHL game. I like them.

Again I don't care at all about the shitty turok game I'm not sure if it even works well it took my 5 tries to get it to work and I made 70 bucks profit on it and it paid for a whole console which I'll actually play. That's worth more to me than a shitty multiplayer only game that happened to be grey

>>
>>4321567
I don't think anyone is talking about how hard it was to get Turok to work or any of the games.
They're saying you gave someone 250 dollars worth of stuff which was more than enough for everything in that picture, PLUS an additional 78 dollars.

He literally stole from you and you paid him extra for it.
>>
>>4321621
Madden 64 for $50? Sure why not.
>>
>>4321643

>>
>>4320313
Well, I can already tell you're bullshitting because there aren't even 8 actual good games on the Saturn to begin with.
>>
>>4321650
Turok Rage Wars is worth over 200 dollars, so at a store, he should have still given you like 75-100 dollars for it. Basically, Turok alone was worth the Saturn and the games you got. But you gave more, plus 78 dollars.

That's all anyone is saying.
>>
>>4321653
The games are common garbage games with no demand. You can get them in better condition for 2-8 dollars online.
>>
>>4321651
I didn't know I listed any of that on eBay and not trading into a store where I knew damn well I wouldn't get eBay prices for. What's the problem here.

Bottom line is I traded in something worthless to me to get something worth a lot to me. I'm not some geeky collector trying to get his NA 64 collection complete with a 200 dollar game that's rare because it's a different color. If you spent 200 bucks on that I'd be the one laughing at YOU

step 1: look at ebay prices. All above 200? Cool.
step 2: list it for a lower price. say, 150 dollars OBO.
step 3: people will give you offers.
step 4: you take the offer.
step 5: you have more money and are also not being an absolute mindless fool.

Since you didn't do that, you should follow these steps:
step 1: stop posting
step 2: return your saturn and games to the store
step 3: give away all of your stuff to charity or sell it on ebay
step 4: kill yourself

It's the best game in that pic, and the PSX version destroys it.
>>
>>4321750
Then you get fucked in the ass by eBay and paypal as the asshole you sold to does a chargeback, and you make zero profit!

>>4317142
Find a saturn with controller and hookups, confirmed working for that price anymore, I'm waiting. I love how every faggot on this board thinks they're some smooth operator when it comes to prices, Have fun with your $60 Saturn from a flea market with a broken cart port and a bad laser.

Means this thread loves to mention ebay pricing, here- I'll leave this here https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=Sega%20Saturn%20System&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

When you sell to a store, you are selling it to them at a loss to get a quicker return, you no longer need to worry about getting fucked by ebay, or the buyer, the hassle of shipping, and you get an instant return.
>>
lol at the faggot who is posting low ball ebay auctions, $5 for a complete Area 51? Disc only copies are going for over double that- on average.

Why are you so mad about stores pricing things at sold market averages? Jesus Christ this is some fox and grapes shit.
>>
>>4322237
You simply wait and buy good copies of the game you want when it's available.

Stop trying to pretend OP got a deal by literally paying 330 dollars for a 60 dollar Saturn and a few games that might cost 80 bucks combined on Ebay.
>>
>>4322219
>When you sell to a store, you are selling it to them at a loss to get a quicker return,

This makes literally 0 sense.

OP sold Turok for 75 dollars to a store where the seller will turn around and list it for 300 in store or 250 on Ebay.

OP is a fucking retard who got played for "quicker return" or whatever. It's nonsense. It's just a way of throwing away 155 bucks or whatever it is he lost.
>>
>>4322249
>>4322256
The physical stores, most of them anyway, live and die by people gullible enough to give them stuff worth a lot of money for their cheap ass prices. They live by retards like OP who hand off 250 dollar items for 75 bucks. They get a lot of that.

In the same way they live off retard OPs who buy saturns for 80 or whatever, when they pay 25 for a saturn from some schmuck like OP. They literally live and die by retards "selling" in their stuff way below what it's worth to each other.

Shopkeep actually made huge bank - like I said, he probably bought the saturn OP bought for like 25 dollars, then sold it to OP for 80 while also taking OPs Turok for 75 which he'll sell for 250-300.
>>
>>4322237
>low ball ebay auctions
He's not a faggot.
When you get into retro-collecting, you have to have a wait and see approach. You wait for the best possible deals, and do some wheeling and dealing. I've waited for a good copy of Harvest Moon SNES for a long time, and I message sellers about what prices they'd take and what I can do to get them to sell it quicker for a bit cheaper. I put pressure on the sellers that have stuff listed for a while, normally.

It's a simple affair. It takes patience and time to get what you want, at the prices you want. Going into a store and giving money away is not how you do anything.
>>
>>4322271
>He's not a faggot.
He absolutely is a faggot.
He's cherry picking arguments to try and justify his entire point.

If you want to wait for prices, that's fine. But you can't really shit on people for just wanting to get shit. It's their money, and their products to trade for whatever the fuck they want.

You aren't an authority to make OP do anything, neither is he. If OP is comfortable with what he got you're being a huge faggot by telling him he's wrong. You assume a lot of responsibility and fault if you order shit off ebay that doesn't work, if you go into a store you can check the disc condition, have the disc resurfaced if they offer it, check case, manual condition, and most times haggle prices. You can only really do the last on ebay, and not in most cases.

It's a simple affair, wait for ebay prices and take a gamble, or pay around the market average (or maybe lower if you can talk them down) to be able to go to a store, check the condition, and get the game on the spot.

Or we can just sperg out on 4chan about other people being happy with what they've gotten, knowing the value of what they sold and bought. I call that being a faggot though, maybe we have different definitions. Stop being a faggot telling him that he can't go to a store just because you wouldn't do it that way.

wow just fucking buy a gray cart and put rage wars in there.
>>
>>4322568
well the reason why its rare is the black cart has a fault where you cant beat a certain level on co op campaign, so if you sent it back to acclaim they sent you a fixed version which was a grey cart. not many people knew of this offer acclaim had. there was a whole big box full of them that were on sale in 2012 which raised awareness to the rarity and they were all bought out and now being resold for very high prices indeed. but honestly who wants that besides hardcore collectors. 100-200 dollars used for a mediocre game at best. just to have a fixed co op campaign.

Thanks TI99 came with a non marked box, manuals PSU, RGB cable, and a cable which I have no idea what is it for (it's a serial joystick port to 3x 3.5mm and 2x 2.5mm jacks).
The other computers aren't retro, but I got 3 of these optiplex and the XT2 laptop for free, along with a bunch of office furnitures.

And the TI seems to be working well. The picture quality is perfect, the black bars are caused by my phone not having any manual settings. I don't have any software for it though.

Grabbed a 32X, no cords, for $20, A PS1 Multitap for $5, EW2 for $10, SH1, Driver 2, Battle Arena Toshinden, R-Types, and 3 PSM demo disks for $15 in bundle.
Totaled for $50, but it sucks I have to go grab the cables for the 32X. What do you guys think?

Not bad. I got my 32x for $30 but it came with cables. Only the patch cable they included had an extra pin that when plugged in made it so the system would not power off unless you pulled the AC adapter.
Turns out the actual 32x patch cable had one less pin so I had to look at a real cable and use pliers to pull one of them. Worked great after..

Turns out the power cord for my 3rd model Genesis works with the 32X, so all i need is a video cord to connect the genesis and the 32X.
I'm glad about getting Silent Hill, anything I need to know before I play it?

Don't know what those usually go for but seems fixable.
I bought a cheap Sega CD model 2 that had a drive that would not work half the time and I just had to open it and push in the little ribbon cable and now it works perfectly.
>>
>>4327298
they typically go for around $350-500 with all accessories and are never sold loose like this.

i've fixed worse so i'm confidant i can fix this though it sounds like it's something stupid like a dirty lens, but if it is worse it's only $30 for the entire laser assembly.

i have a few neo geo cd i can borrow all the hookups and controllers from to play with it.

Cool. You could just make an adapter for any old serial mouse.

Disc rot is a meme, stop believing in it and your discs will be fine
>>
>>4329321
There's places in the discs that, when held up to a light, light goes through it.
I tried Silent Hill 1, and it got past the opening cinematic then got held up on a loading screen.
>>
>>4329327
Are you sure your laser doesn't need replacing? I had problems with games randomly fucking up and loading and it turned out to be the laser assembly. I didn't want to believe it at first because some games worked flawlessly and others didn't, but after replacing the unit everything worked so much better
>>
>>4329341
No, it's the game.
Right after I tried SH1 I tried SH2 to see if it was my laser, and it ran fine.

>>
>>4329353
It sounds like you're using a PS2/, that laser has extremely different frequencies for different types of disc media.

You would be better served testing on a known working PS1
>>
>>4329507
Yes.
>>
>>4329545
I've played multiple ps1 games on my ps2 for the past few years and they've worked fine.
This is the first time in a while a disc has been messed up for me, the time before was a copy of spyro 2 that had the exact issue, parts where light would shine through the disc.

>quick story
I bought 3 N64s one summer with a bunch of games including Mario Party 1,2,3, ; Pokemon Stadium, Waverace, Rainbow Six, THPS, Castlevania 64 (kek), Rayman, and a few others I forgot. I had 2 black consoles and one Pikachu Edition, where his cheeks light up when the system is turned on. (Also quick side note, I had two Pikachu n64's in my life, and both of them were not really responsive to cartridges, unlike the black ones. Is that well established, or was it only my consoles. Thanks). I gave one away to a friend, and my mother either threw away the other two, or gave them away. I bought all three of it at garage sales for a low price of $15 dollars overall.
>Mfw I'll never be that lucky ever again.

Nigga if you can see through the disc, that disc is trash.
sounds like top scratches.
>>
>>4330264
If it's tiny circular holes that allows light to shine thru on the data side of the disc then it's disc rot

I hear that Saturn games are made good and can expect to last longer than ps1, and specifically, dreamcast games (which I heard suffer from disc rot the most)

KEEP YOUR DISCS OUT OF SUNLIGHT AND PUT THEM IN CASE-MATES

Got all this for $55 this weekend. $15 for Mario Party and Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, and $40 for the PlayStation stuff.

Think there was some miscommunication about the Final Fantasy stuff since I only wanted the Chrono Trigger, but the guy didn't know anything about video games and gave me FFVII disc 2/3, Bubsy 3D, and the pizza hut demo for free
>>

I'm not blaming you anon, because you got them from somebody else. I honestly can't understand how these kinds of people still exist
>>
>>4330710
I don't blame the seller in this case. He told me he cleans out evicted tenant's apartments and gets to keep whatever he finds. So I'm thinking Jesse kept their games in one of those disc binders or something.

But I feel you. Going to have to hit up a thrift store soon so I can get some cheap cases for these.
