I want to play my original consoles but I'm tired of dealing with scart.

I managed to snag an HDMI NES, HDMI N64, and HDMI Gamecube, as well as the connections for HDMI for Dreamcast.

But I don't want to deal with scart or component for Genesis or other older consoles. I can't find any good component converters.

What can I do?

What's wrong with just using composite on a regular crt? It's what almost everyone did in the past. (assuming you are a burger)
If you are not a burger, then how is scart causing you issues? What do you not like about it?

My setup isn't really one I can use a CRT with. I have no room anywhere in my apartment for one.

Are projector the go to for resolution variety? Can they do 480p to 1080p natively or do they also scale lower rez's to their native resolutions like lcds?
>>
>>4324284
The ViewSonic PJD7828HDL does 720p, 1080i, 1080p/60, 576i, 576p, 480p, 480i.

I think they keep everything at the resolution that you have it at. For instance, 480p looks fucking clear and vibrant, I don't think it's upscaled.

>I think
Stop that right now. You really suck at it. You can't think of a way to fit a CRT in there but you have room for a speaker or whatever just sitting there. And you think a projector screen with light leaking in the edges is a good idea? And, shit I could go on but nothing's gonna help you.

I don't play it during the day, because I'm normally at work.

The projector is a super bright model, light doesn't even effect it.

I purposely purchased this model so I didn't have to deal with light bleed.

I have no room for a CRT, correct. The center channel is in front of my ottoman and my couch.

Keep telling yourself that. lol At least you got a picture of your ghetto gaming setup on the forth channel.

Wait for the HD Retrovision cables to be restocked in March.

You have enough room for a CRT projector mounted above your current digital projector. I don't know how much you spent on those HDMI modded consoles but the CRT projector shouldn't have been more expensive than that even including installation (you'd need help)

But in all seriousness you're just the 500th person to make a thread where they claim they don't have room for CRT and they don't have the ability to plug a scart cable into an upscaler. Your remaining option is emulation. You can now tell us how you're too good for emulation.

The only reason I'm posting in today's version of the thread is because I like projection and maybe eventually I'll get motivated to install my CRT projector since I seem to be the only person on /vr/ who has one.

Wait, are you jealous?

>>4324820
Are you thinking about getting a screen?
>>
>>4324540
It's designed for performance in rooms with ambient light. Not to mention the OP's screen is blackout screen and it blocks all light. So he's only dealing with a bit of light from the top and bottom which don't affect the display at all.

Why are you acting angry and insulting over someone's setup?

>>4324820
I like projectors too, I've actually looked at a refurbished version of OP's, but I just don't have the room either. I can barely fit my CRT and my LCD in my room, and I can't take over the living room either. The Scart to an upscaler is not a good idea either, because if OP has a powered receiver, those shitty 50 dollar converters can fry HDMI ports. You'd have to pay 500 for a framemeister.

Well, I may be moving after the new baby is born but even if I do my plan is to paint a screen using one of those formulas where you mix powdered aluminum with a certain hardware store paint the one I had originally looked at was known as "black widow" but iirc that one can't be made anymore and there's something else. I'd need to plaster that basement wall first to flatten it though and just never got around to it. I basically never use it anymore.

>>4325281
$500 which would get an XRGB or a CRT projector installed with hardware should be a typical investment for OP based on the stuff he's bought already. I'm much more of a cheapskate. For cheapo digital projectors I originally used Lightware partly because of their cheap lamps but I've taken the step up to Optoma brand which are a bit brighter, much shorter throw and accept more inputs. They were used a lot in schools so there are shit tons of surplus ones to be had. Resolutions are pretty low though.
>>
>>4325336
You can get projector paint for like 90 bucks
>>
>>4325281
>Why are you pointing out that a shitty setup is shitty?
Because it's shitty and a deluded OP kidsplains how it's not. Why are you so triggered by facts?
>>
>>4324275
for a second i didn't realize that monitor on the right was in the foreground and thought it was a second projected screen of your computer
>>
>>4324284
CRT projectors can do wide range of resolutions, can even be better than a regular direct view CRT since there's no shadow/slot mask/grille. Regular DLP, LCD, LCoS etc projectors use scaling like regular LCD displays.
>>
>>4324275
You don't need a CRT for scart or composite. I don't think I've ever seen a TV, HD or otherwise, without SCART and/or composite. RF is starting to go missing from new TVs though which is a shame.

Sony G90 owner here, I have mine installed but don't use it for games because my direct-view feels more appropriate for casual gaming
