I've been thinking about red dead again. My graphics settings got pushed out to everyone. Set those to whatever you like. When you are going through your graphics settings also remember to tweak the distant horizons settings, It is really cool but causes some graphical errors at lower settings so you might want to turn it off

one thing that would help with loading in spawn area is if we cleared out as much blocks as we can all the way to spawn. i would say get the y cord. for the lowest point of the sea floor near the coast of rabbaville and then go down 5 more blocks. that way there is somewhat of a even layer of dirt and stone for the surface then from there you just clear out everything that you can.

i dont know to be honest. i imagine minecraft has some special voodoo magic that they use when it comes to non visible blocks but every time i load in or teleport to spawn from somewhere far away (meaning i have to reload everything into my ram) i can see the areas that dont have blocks before i see everything else. i have pretty bad ping sometimes so at times i can watch as the chunks slowly load in front of me

I mean mostly like the stuff above the ground tends to be more complicated stuff with special functions and entities attached, while underground it's just normal blocks which would have negligible performance impact. And of course something like one create windmill or watermill probably has way more impact than any of the stuff around it. I don't really know too much of the technical stuff though so if someone who does has more insights I'd be interested to hear it. Just from an aesthetic standpoint I'm not sure how I feel about fully hollowing out the space below rabbitville though unless we intend to do something with the area down there too
