Nice. Your homescreen's nice too, although I think the picture doesn't fit well enough. I would change it to a drawn picture, one that is also a bit less wide, and maybe move everything over to the left, depending on how wide the new picture was. Either way it's still good though

which place has the best themes, here, /w/, /g/ or reddit
>>
>>
>>7285709
Not /g/, that's for sure. /w/ can have some real nice ones which I think just edge out /wg/, since there's more variation. I don't browse Reddit, but I would guess it would be about the same as /w/ and /wg/.

/g/ basically just combines the worst of /w/'s weebness with the worst of /wg/'s blandness. I don't think I've ever seen a good rice on /g/ that wasn't also on /w/ or /wg/

Haven't done anything new in a month. Still really comfy.

>>7285594
Really unique. 10/10
>>7285597
I love your setup. Maybe adding more info on the side? Weather maybe 10/10
>>7285604
I would recommend adding some continuity with the lines. Keeping the clock, songs etc in the same lines as you scroll would make it an easy 9. 7/10
>>7285617
Idk how to feel about the bottom apps. If it works for you, more power to you. 8/10
>>7285636
Consider removing the sidebar on the bottom for a better look. Also the empty space between the apps is quite jarring. 7/10
>>7285651
Hate the note part. How about replacing with a music player? Simplifying the notification bar could also work. Do you really need the up and down speed? 8/10
>>7285652
I really like the idea with the calendar on the top. I might copy that. Same as the guy above, do you need battery temp? 8.5/10

Just made a few formatting and color changes, mostly posting so I can R8. Also boy am I shit at converting webms

>>7286454
Very original, I dig it. I think the apps could be a lil smaller, and I think the information overlay could be tidied up a bit, maybe less info or better formatting. 7/10

>>7286270
Definitely get some different icons, and see if you can find a way to stylize the music cover circle to look like a CD, maybe with a hole or a CD outline png. You could even make it spin while music is playing for bonus points. Other than that is v comfy, 7/10

>>7285789
I mean it is what it is. Personally I like to have at least a few apps within 1 tap, but if this works for ya, cheers. 8/10

>>7286102
Needs a lot of work b. Start by removing that top bar, you don't need 2 clocks. Next, I don't know what the widget is, but it doest really fit. Maybe at least make the color of the words match your Pape? Next, while I actually don't mind folders as much as some people on here, yours could use some work. Maybe use whicons so those lines don't look so tiny, or use a single icon for the whole folder, as most icon packs have some pretty good ones. 5/10

>>7285652
If you're gonna make a meme pape at least make it look good b. I think you could format things better, give it a lil more style. 6/10

>>7285617
Honestly love this one. I fell like the bottom half of the screen could use something tho, just not sure what. It just feels a lil plain. 8/10

I'm still not sure which font to use, but I haven't needed to change anything. I may want to be able to launch apps from the homescreen soon, but the app drawer is working ok for now. I might also add a WiFi toggle button.

>>7285594

Why you gotta not link the new thread in the old one though?

>>7285617

Does the to-do list do stuff, or is it just a text object?

The bottom app section feels a little cluttered, but I have the same problem whenever I make one, so I have no suggestions for fixing it. :/

>>7285636

Looks nice. It'd be cool if you could get it looking like the apps are also obscured by the leaves.

>>7286257

Nice animation. Looks really clean, too.
>>
>>7285617
the list on top doesn't really fit the rest, mostly the dots
>>7285636
think about the spacing between the apps, and how they align with the top/bottom border of the square.
>>7285651
note is cool, not a fan of the apps or the up/down speed.
>>7285652
top is barely legible, bottom is better but it's not exactly nice imo.
>>7285789
are you the same guy who posted this a while back, with the nice transitions and stuff? not much to say on this one screen.
>>7286102
definitely not a fan of the icons, or the stock double clock action, how would you grade yourself?
>>7286176
i can dig this, super comfy, i think lowering the contrast on the image would work really well. Is the weather icon circle meant to be the same colour as the rest? it looks like it has a slightly different hue or has a shadow on it, which makes it look a bit weird. I also think making the gap between the progress bar and the box beneath would be nice.
>>7286257
comfy animations, why is the third nav button the one four dots, and not the center one?
>>7286270
you could take this places, but if you dont wanna you dont wanna. watchman anon has some good tips.
>>7286454
dig the font, but when it gets small blackletter tends to look at bit weird unless its densely packed. for the music player the play/pause next/prev really dont fit. Same with the icons around the ring, but since they aren't directly accompanied with text i feel like they work fine. Adding a old paper texture to the boxes and bar could look really nice, and mesh well with the theme. overall p nice.
>>7286490
i miss the stars.
>>7286821
>>7285595
a list of apps would do the job without looking too bad, probably not in that font though. Keep looking you're bound to find something that fits your theme nicely.
>>
>>7286825
I miss them too b. Might add them back, I just wanted a more universal look in lou of the theme switching. Maybe if I could find something to match the other characters too...

The app animation is sick, font seems like it fits the bg but too complicated for me. Music choice 10/10

>>7286490

>>7286628

>>7286720
pretty boring desu, don't like the icon pack or search bar

>>7286821
Info well integrated into bg, feel like data can be replaced with clock
>>
>>7286821
The to-do list is fully functional, it moves the items from "Tomorrow" to "Today" ar midnight, and tapping them strikes the item. And yeah I agree that it's a bit cluttered, but more organized than icons imo
>>
>>7286890

>feel like data can be replaced with clock

Yeah, that would be cool. I work in places where cell service and WiFi are hit-and-miss, though, so it's really nice to know if I have any connection before opening stuff.

>>7286891

Oh cool, how'd you make it function like that?

I agree, icons would be too much.

What do you guys normally do for your lockscreen to make it match your homescreen? Right now I have mine set to a blurred screenshot of my homescreen, although in the past I've used pared down versions of my homescreen. This is assuming you don't use KLCK or something that lets you do more.

Like what's going on here, but are you a mechanic or a piano player because I'm looking at those apps and I can say for certain if you aren't either of those then you'd open the wrong app multiple times in a row

>>7285636

>>7285651
Gotta agree with everyone. Note has to go otherwise a very solid simple screen

>>7285652
There's a bit of information overload here, it's difficult to take in all at once, but the color scheme is classic

>>7286720

>>7286821
Centered weight on the bottom just below the picture would make or break this I'd suggest you put the clock right there, no bigger than the text on top, no farther away from the picture either

>>7286890

Didn't really mention this in my post but apps are sorted based on context. Time of day, WiFi network, headphones, the most used apps in any context show up at the top. If I'm doing something out of my norm then the first letter search is all I've ever needed to find something.

WIP. I'm happy with the concept but I feel like there's something missing. Thinking about replacing the rotating satellites with fading in/out constellations or something else and I want the area below the planets to look better but I'm not sure how yet. Would appreciate feedback

Thanks for the compliments. I changed the background to the Milky Way, switched out Saturn for Mars, replaced the satellites with constellations and made the planets full circles with a fade in the transition instead of semi-circles with no fade. Still unsure how to improve the app/music tray, if anyone has ideas let me know.

>>7289075
Looks good but too much vertical scrolling
for me. The spacing between your apps is too small in comparison to the labels on the left.

>>7289089
App icons don't fit that background, it's too rough and they're too clean. Also their coloring should match the face.

>>7289119
Usually not into minimal screens but this is really good. Don't know why but the design really fits the pape.

>>7289143
Nice pic. Icon and komponent colors should match it more tho.

>>7289217

Hey man, imo it's the color that's the problem. Jupiter is a bit too dark and warm, I'd go for a lighter colder beige. For the app tray I'd go for a deeper blue but with a little less green. Same for the music one, go for a more umber color instead of the greenish mustard you got going on rn. Also for all the fonts and icons try going slightly off white, maybe try getting the shade of one of the stars from the wallpaper and use that as font colour. I think it's overall great tho

Complete overhaul

Don't have time to rate others right now. Rate mine or don't I just want to share it
>>
>>7290327
imo the best homescreens have some sort of theme that every component contributes and/or conforms to. I would recommend looking at homescreens.org for inspiration, maybe copy one or two to practice ricing. For me making a homescreen is an iterative process. It can take me days to be satisfied with my homescreen, but the key is to not give up on an idea too quickly and just keep trying things until it looks good. Don't be afraid to make big changes. You may have to cycle through a few designs before you make one you really like, but eventually you'll get there.
>>
>>7290327
>>7290380
For yours specifically, the pape is cool but you just kinda slapped all your elements down on the edges of the screen. Sure, it's better than default, but you can donso much more

Is there a lightweight app for globally mapping gestures? I have a Galaxy S9 and it doesn't appear to be supported out of the box. Want to map "back" and "recents" from the nav bar to gestures and then disable it globally and use only gestures. Galaxy S9 supports hard-press for home without the bar so no need to do anything there.

Also is there a repository of exported packages from homescreens.org anywhere?

The point of these wallpapers with dates and times is that they're supposed to reflect the current date/time, right? Or am I just making wild assumptions?
>>
>>7292889
You're implying that these pictures are going to keep up with the time and date every day. They're just pictures.
>>
I used to make all kinds of flashy and pretentious homescreens and then realized that it's life 's too short to waste time on small things like that.
>>
>>7292889
You'd be correct
>>
>>7292969
It's too short sure, but if you have making it, is it a waste of time?
>>
>>7292981

3 clocks / 10. Polish it up and it'll be great
>>7292342
There aren't really tutorials. Just keep trying stuff until you're happy!
>>7292690
8/10 something about that music player is kinda jarring
>>7292746
9/10 love how clean the whole thing is, it's just not really to my personal taste
>>7292969
7/10 way too simple for my taste. I guess if that's your thing then more power to you tho
>>

By golly, you were right. Thanks for inspiring me to take a risk, and really improve my already god tier homescreen
>>
>>7293004
That... Holy fuck anon, you did it. You made the perfect wallpaper. I'm sorry I ever doubted your abilities, please, spare me
>>
>>7292988
>way too simple
fine I added the calendar thing, better now?
>>
>>7293009
Key words being for my taste. It's not bad as it is, but its simplicity isn't something that appeals to me in particular, ya dig?
>>
>>7293009
> >way too simple
> fine I added the calendar thing, better now?
Not the guy you're replying to, but those icons are so overplayed and are bad in general. Outlinea need to be thick for them to work, solid work better. Find white icons that are filled and it wojld look better imo
>>
Just starting, I like it so far :)
>>
>>7292746
Love it, could do with less words, imo. 9/10
>>7292988
Really good use of colors and boxes with a large main image, dig the chromatic aberration. The dock sticks out like a sore thumb however, at least color it to match the rest 7/10
>>7292279
Not enough clocks 11/10
>>7292137
Love it 10/10
What do you guys think? I've been phoneless for a while and saw this Pape on another thread and decided to put my own spin on it.
>>
>>7293054
Would look sleeker if you hid the notification bar and moved the clock down with a widget/klwp, overall it's pretty comfy
>>
Anyone know why my klwp won't scroll on a huawei with nova?
>>
>>7293056
>Not enough clocks 11/10
Don't worry senpai, I've already corrected my egregious mistake: >>7293004
Next I might make it more minimal. I was thinking of adding a calendar, weather info, music, a dozen apps, and a clock to know what time it is
>>
>>7293066
You're on the right track, keep it up familia
>>
Normally an iFag but it shattered (go figure) so I'm on this now and I think I did a damn good job for not touching this phone in years.
>>
>>7293089
I don't really like it but it's better than most of the leet ricer garbage people are so proud of here.
>>
>>7293094
My wallpapers off putting I think, that's why I'm on /wg/. I only really come on 4chan for papes anymore lol. Thanks bud.

Patrician taste, even though they're necessary for phones which are deprived of a glorious physical keyboard. Your homescreen looks nice, I simply suggest to remove the app drawer icon and the navigation buttons.
>>
>>7293057
Changed it slightly. I like it so far, but I still have a lot to learn.
>>
>>7292968
Ah, I figured it was a part of some app/widget that overrode the lock screen, and the pictures were just samples.
>>
>>7293089
Post wall please? Also try viral icons I think they'd look good
>>
>>7293197
Anon.. that's a homescreen live wallpaper made using KLWP. They have the current date and time when you use them but the screenshots are whatever time they were taken. It's not a wild assumption
>>
New phone and first attempt at ricing, I'm using Nova Launcher
I like it as it is but I'm thinking of adding a weather widget without cluttering the screen. The dock can be switched on/off with an hidden button
>>
>>7293223
>>
>>7293227
Maybe make a text based weather thingy with kgwt/klwp?
>>
>>7292992
youre four threads late we dont take applications anymore
>>
>>7293252
>2 clocks
>only 2
How the fuck are you supposed to know what time it is with only two clocks? Come on man, shake your head
>>
>>7293256
i like having my homescreen clean
>>
>>7293177
It does look better
>>
>>7293257
So do I, but at least I managed to keep mine minimal as fuck, without making it impossible to tell the time
>>
>>7293206
Oh, okay. Then... Lemme keep trying.
>>
>>7293268
Thanks man
>>
>>7293287
Really nice formatting, very user friendly and definitely functional. 10/10
>>
>>7293341
Yeah, it really is amazing. The pretentious shitlords in this thread might think that hiding the notification bar is the mark of a good rice, but it's actually adding more of them that truly makes it good
>>
So, the lock screen will pop up and refuse to go away until I reset my phone and turn it off. What am I doing wrong here?
>>
>>7293348
What app are you using?
>>
>>7293349
CLCK
>>
>>7293350
Do you mean KLCK?
The backup way to get into your phone, assuming you didn't set a way to get passed the lockscreen, is to press and hold the bottom left corner for a bit until an unlock symbol comes up in the bottom right corner. Then just hit that.

In order to set something to unlock your phone, you need to set something an object to on touch unlock it (or otherwise trigger the action). Just dick around in the editor until you find that.
>>
>>7293353
Yes, my bad. And alright, thank you so much.
>>
>>7293353
Alright, I got it working. I based it on a "cluttered" Windows '98 screen so I was able to make an invisible button on the error message, so it worked out great. Now I just need to find a font that fits it, but that can happen whenever. Thank you!
>>
ok I've had enough of this
>muh two clocks meme
I will show you fags that it's very possible to have multiple clocks and make it look legitimately better than anything you basedboys could ever dream of
