Does anyone have experience with Substratum and the Andromeda add-on? How'd it go? Was it easy to set up? Any issues?

I'm on android orei and I'd really like to change the ui's color.
>>
Coming from two threads ago with the materialize design. I have a shitload of ideas for this in mind but just can't get myself to do them.
I'll replace song time with controls soon tho.
Rate this while I'm collecting the motivation

I use Substratum. As far as I can tell, the only real good themes are paid for, which kind of sucks, but at least they're cheap. Currently using Swift Black, it's pretty nice.
>>

Is it through Andromeda? Can you show me? How much does it change?

Andromeda is an addon for it. It allows non rooted phones to use su substratum

can anyone recommend me a good screen recorder as well as a decent video converter?

>>7293562
Very good animations and windows, icon pack is also pleasant, even though I don't use icons at all

>>7293563
The center is wonderful, but I don't like the fingerprint as well as the navigation buttons

too much text, but the general setting is nice

Clean, I like it. What does it look like with only one color (i.e. only blue-gray or only orange)?

Here it is. First time using KLWP and a screen recorder, so the result can be really sloppy. I'm using a Blackberry Keyone, which is the reason why I don't use icons and I can open apps by pressing the physical buttons.

Great idea, but the clock icon being huge and the time being off center of the energy messes with the balance

>>7293562
Pretty great, but too spooky. But seriously the first screen picture is a little cluttered

>>7293563
People in the last thread were saying this pape is overused, but I've been gone for a while so it looks fine to me. Icon pack name?

>>7293584
Very good minimal design, but what does the scroll bar do

>>7293588
Same as I said last time, it's good if it's big enough on your screen

>>7293599
Maybe make the clock a slightly smaller size to fix the weight? If it doesn't work then just get rid of it cause it was good before

>>7293612
I'm not really sure what's happening to change between apps here, gesture input? Anyway I might be too much of a brainlet to understand the aesthetic

>>7293678

I used the Desaturate icon pack filtered into black and white through KLWP.

motivation is a meme, do it, or don't.
i like this. the navbar should be white imo, and it would be cool to flip which side has which colours so it is opposite of the background gradient.
>>7293588
i liked the blue pape better. space between the img/apps is a tad large, find a nice ratio between the space below the apps and the space above them.

>>7293612
Not good. The colors look muddy, the quotes all over look dirty, the quote on the 2nd screen starts with a lowercase. You have 3 different fonts and way too much useless information displayed. "battery death"? Keep trying
>>7293673
Make the font a lil smaller fampai
>>7293824
Your colors were too aggressive last time and they're still too aggressive
>>
>>7294029
it's a real nice pape, but they way you've used the colours and placed the text doesn't look appealing. the icons especially, you've used the colours from the image which is great but there's absolutely no consistency. the image is consistent because each colour is representing a different value of shadow, the way you've used the colours is essentially random.
>>
>>7294029
>colors look muddy, all over look dirty
why?

>the quote on the 2nd screen starts with a lowercase
because there's not a full stop before it in the original poem

>3 different fonts
nope they're two, the bottom part is made with the same font: bold on the right, italic on the left

>useless information
why?

>battery death
does Battery uncharge time fit your tastes better?
>>
FIRST
>>7294080
> why?
because your webm is shit

> because there's not a full stop before it in the original poem
you use "(...)" before it, then

> nope they're two, the bottom part is made with the same font: bold on the right, italic on the left
bold and italic of the same font are functionally different fonts

> why?
because they're pretty useless in everyday use

> does Battery uncharge time fit your tastes better?
"empty in xy" sounds way more natural
>>
>>7294085
>webm is shit
I used XMedia Recodec for it, I guess I need t change program

>bold and italic of the same font are functionally different fonts

Just cause you seem so offended, have a blogpost:
They look dirty because that sepia gray with that navy just don't look good together. It's basically brown and blue, how often do you see that combination around? It's just not pleasing to the eye.
I don't like quotes slapped on top of wallpapers as is, and I like long quotes in barely readable font that stretch over two screens even less.
As far as one being in italic and the other one not, it still makes the whole thing look uneven. The one at the top being the main culprid.
Your whole second screen is just useless information, you don't need to see any of those every time you look at your homescreen. "hmm I wonder when I last charged my phone"
Look, if you genuinely like it then keep it, more power to you. But I reckon you posted this here for feedback and not just to get your dick sucked yeah?

>>7294073
I don't understand what you're saying fampai. The whole thing is outlined in purple, hence why I made the text outlines purple. The icon colours aren't random given that I specifically made them follow a patter, do you suggest I just scrap it all and use black font and black icons, or..?
>>
>>7294094
no, i suggest you make the theme more consistent, as i said, it's good that you used the colours from the pape, however having the icons be one of each colour and mirrored like that, all i can say is it looks bad. your text and icons are just screaming for consistency. maybe make the icons the same as the text, with the outline. your pape is very round but your font very square, then your icons are also round, the weather text suddenly has a different colour to all of the text around it and it doesnt work. your rice lacks consistency, which is one of the most basic concepts of design. im not saying everything has to be the same, but it shouldnt all be this different.

>>
>>7294094
>you seem so offended
.....no? I agree with you on the colour palette and the fonts, infact I've made some changes to them. I really like brown on vanilla/cream, a bit like the Sennheiser HD598 headphone, but it's hard to find the exact colours. As for the info, I don't find the last charge time useless at all, I use it to monitor my battery life over time. I don't need to charge my phone every night.

Not my rice, but I wanted to know if anyone had the KLWP file for this, or something similar to this. The dude who made it has been radio silent, and I'd appreciate if someone could share the file since I've seen it posted here a few times. Thanks.

how do you make a long text(for music) apear scrolling?
>>

Here's what I wrote up a few months ago.

Unfortunately, my dear Anon, it's not just a single formula.
First off, you will have to create three global variables:

1) A text variable which will hold your text. (i.e. $mi(title)$)
2) A number variable which should return the length of your text variable.
(i.e.$tc(len, gv(1))$)
3) A number variable which will indicate the amount of characters to be shown
before scrolling is initiated.

In the root of your KLWP project create a shape object. This will be your text
box. Under FX>Mask, set it to clip all.

Beneath the shape object create two overlap groups. The first will be displayed
while the text is still, the second will be displayed while the text is moving,
but their contents will be identical.

In the first one create a text object and put the first global variable as its
content. Make sure you use a monospaced font. Position the overlap group so it
sits in the center of the text box. Under Layer > Visibility write
"$if(gv(2)<=gv(1), always, never)$".

In the second one copy the text object from the first overlap group. Position
the overlap group as "Center Left" and make its left edge touch the left edge
of the text box. Under Layer > Visibility write
"$if(gv(2)>gv(1), always, never)$". In the animation tab set the animation as
follows: Type > Loop with return; Action > Scroll; Ease > Pick whatever;
Duration > Pick a value between 10 and 100. ; Speed > $(gv(2)-gv(3))*[NUMBER]$
(Since it depends on font size, text size, font, and the duration of your
animation, you will have to experiment with the number so the end off the
scrolling text manages to fit inside the text box.); Angle > 180; Delay > 0;
Limit > 0.

Hope this helped. EDIT: Missed an animation bit.

i can't add a code to a number variable

and what do you mean with " put the first global variable as its
content."
do i just copy the '(i.e. $mi(title)$)'?

obviously not the colons and the fucking "i.e.", but whatever you want the scrolling text to display

>>
>>7296507
I didn't insult the anon asking for the file, all I said is that the rice he posted is unoriginal and a poor implementation of it anyway
>>
I had an idea I wanted to try earlier, and then only after figuring out how to do it, I realized I had no idea what to do with it. Basically, I made it so that I could extract just one colour channel, based on what was most prominent in a given colour. So for example, #FF56A683 would return #FF00A600. It was a pain in the dick to do, since KLWP doesn't seem to have any way to deal with hexadecimal, but I got it to work. If there is a tie in colour intensity, it just takes both of them (#FF551E55 would return #FF550055).
I ended up just ripping off someone else's rice (poorly at that, since I didn't even get the formatting of the text 100% done), so here it is.

If someone has a better idea (not hard) than my shitty, rushed rice, here's the .klwp file so you don't have to waste time remaking everything: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CNKUnb4qiRE7BdSReiSln_lJuYAMZTfH/view?usp=drivesdk
>>
>>7296538
this is garbage and cannot be saved.
>>
>>7296568
I meant the idea, not the rice itself. It's pretty bad, I know. I wouldn't say it can't be saved, but it's certainly not worth the effort. But if someone wanted to use the globals I made to get it to functional then I've got it available, and then they could make their own, otherwise entirely new rice
>>
>>7296568
He admitted that it was rushed. The rice itself isn't what he's showing off
>>
>>7296528
Yeah, buts it's a pretty nothing comment to make. I asked if anyone would mind sharing the file. If you don't have, or don't want to post it, what's the point of replying to me? Youre just shit posting, whether you're insulting or not.

I like this one better, because it's easier for me to line up the hour hand with the minutes. Also, I really like the color scheme.
>>
>>7296821
thank you. I've done some changes to the triangles and to the colour of the battery bar. I've also increased the size of the calendar a bit. How does it look now?
>>
>>7296822

I'd need to see the clock colors at a later time to be sure.

Pulling the background off of the battery bar was a good call, but now I don't know where 100% is. Maybe put a line at the top or something?
>>
>>7296826
It's the same as before, I've just changed the colour of the triangle.
>maybe put a line at the top or something
It's a good idea, but in order to do that I should draw a rectangular box around the battery bar. I can try it later.

I switched phones recently and somehow option of having the album art is completely gone.

I'm ninety percent sure the reason why is that "/storage/emulated/0/Kustom/bitmaps/music_cover" leads to nothing.

What should I add? A random image as a placeholder?
>>
>>7298709
make sure the option to show album art on your lock screen is on
the file path you mentioned leads to an empty file every time there isn't album art to show
if the file doesn't exist, make it without an extension
>>
>>7298768
Thank you it worked perfectly. Too bad about the album art on the lockscreen.
