Also the car has different orbit than planned.
>>

Wasn't propellant that the center core was out of. It was doing a triple engine burn and there wasnt enough igniter fluid (triethylaluminium-triethylborane according to wikipedia) to light the outer 2 engines required for the landing burn. Only the center was lit and it wasn't enough to slow down with.

Seriously, dude? "Science" as you understand it, is simply collecting and generating data. Physics, mathematics, biology and chemistry; all of those just discover. It's the engineers that implement the information and apply it to technology that we all can benefit from. Civilization and discovery is built by people that used their own genius and innovation to harness the lightning, and construct these awesome machines that will send us out into the universe.

Science and engineering are two seperate but complementary things. The scientists discover new laws of of nature which the engineers then use to build new technology. The scientists then use some of this technology to discover new laws of nature and so on. They occupy their own niches and both have their own genius and boring shit in equal parts. /sci/ memes and interdisciplinary banter are all well and good but never go so far as to take that shit seriously.

The roadster was neato. Two boosters separating from the core, firing retrograde, and then landing back at the launch facility, simultaneously is really fucking neato.

The core was lost, what ever, shit happens. The two more difficult to return parts of the rocket made it back at damn near the same time. That is an amazing feat of engineering and science.

I honestly welled up seeing them return. I felt prideful for an accomplishment that wasn't my own. Granted I used to work for the man, but whatever.
