when you think about 9/11 you realize how horrible it was. People make analogies to Pearl Harbor but they are not even close.

WTC was a complete civilian target, regular old working stiffs, with no military affiliation, working boring office space jobs to pay for family were intentionally targeted. Islamic terrorists really are a special kind of evil when you think about how they operate.

You missed my point unfortunately... this webm is so strong, because it not about 9/11, it is about a father, who lost his two sons. This is something, which can happen anywhere, and it has happed everywhere. There is no emphasis on the incident of 9/11, because it didn't matter at that moment. What mattered was, that he had talked to them before their deaths, and that he could tell them, that he loved them.

Anyway, have some feels.

hmmm, i viewed it as intrinsically tied to 9/11 because the kids only died because they were firefighters?cops, and they only became firefighters/cops to follow in their dads footsteps and because of the fond memories the departments gave them growing up.

Also, American cities have a long history since the time the Irish/German immigrants of the 1800s arriving of joining the fire/police departments and it becoming a generational thing (hence why the son took the dads badge number). The fire departments of nyc, chic, and cleveland, are microcosms of ideals and myths associated with what it means to be an american. (american dream, family support, posterity, equal opprotunity, a path out of poverty).
>>
>>2234173
ehhh, America has not really done anything like this, i would appreciate an example of when America planned for years, and did, to launch a missiles into two buildings with 60,000 civilians in them.

They havent, if you want to say they have destroyed the infrastructure of countries, and land mined areas of countries and created generational poverty and civil conflict i might not agree but could see your point.

However, the us doesnt go into concert halls and shoot teenage girls in the head (bataclan, muslim terrorist attacks), the us doesnt murder people because they drew a cartoon, or behead prisoners.

Seriously there is no comparison, that is if you believe in morality/think some methods of killing and reasons are different.

Yeah, I think you're right, but I don't see how there is any emphasis on 9/11 as an inicdent... it could as well have been the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Boston Marathon, or any nature catastrophe. The setting of 9/11 only works as a framework here, for it was an occasion where both policemen and firefighters were needed.

Also, you might check your numbers (that is, if >>2239045 is you as well)... there were "only" 20.000 people in the buildings, of which about 17.000 could get out in time.

How so? By bombing an enemy nation in industrious sectors? Why no mention of the fire bombing campaign? What of Dresden? That city was destroyed for no other purpose than demoralization. Yet annihilating two cities is so terrible because fission was the medium, I'll remember that and just tell my congressmen that waves of bombers with white phosphorous and napalm is far more humane or something like that.

Well, you might as well require a unicorn be present because that's specific as fuck. However, do you think Nagasaki and Hiroshima weren't loaded with civilians? Oh but we were "aiming at military targets" with the fire raids that 95% of hit civilians.

I'm not saying America is a bad country, it's far from it, one of the best on Earth, but don't stick your fingers in your ears and pretend America doesn't have its load of civilian murders. Or act like the bombs were different because people didn't go up and look them in the eye as they did it with a gun.

>>
>>2243557

You could do that by living out your life and dying at an old age. Why tap out early when you haven't seen what's along the ride or at the end of it? Death is inevitable but sometimes you just need something as basic as rudimentary changes in your life for you to be able to look back and see what was going on to cause you to feel that way.

Groups of people you frequently hang out with, eating habits, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, climate, etc; impact you severely without even realizing. Don't give up. I'm relatively depressed as it is but I still remain functional and I'm glad I did. My life is so much better than a shit ton of people across the globe.

Literally go travel to another country for a starting point. Forget your education/work for a period and just exist somewhere that is different.

The reason that animals do this is because they are programmed by nature to.

There needs be a few that wander off and find new places to colonize. It's to ensure the survival of the species.

I second this. If you really have just given up, and want to die, all the while not wanting your family having to know you failed. Then just leave.

Drop everything and run away. Jeez, max out your credit card, buy a ticket to some south-east asian country like Thailand and live your live. You can easily get an apartment, sort your shit and live for a $1,000 for the first month.

You might suffer, you might hurt, but your family won't know what happened to you. They might bad mad, hurt, etc, but they will also hope and assume you're doing fine. At least moreso than if they found your corpse. This will even give you a chance, a FAR chance, that if years from now you change your mind and fortune and want to return to them.

TL;DR: Be bold, run away, star a new life, you can always run back home if you really want. You will die eventually, that's one thing you don't have to worry about.

Anons, I really want to express this feeling.
I'm dating this girl, she's so fucking cute, actually she's now my gf, but before I really had a hard time dating girls, most of all rejection, so now, I've always felt like a piece of depressed shit, and I always thought that if I get a girlfriend and her support I would be better in any aspect...
Spoiler: Nothing has changed, I steel feel like shit.
I don't know what to do, even she feels like this, and I think she's hurting me instead of supporting me, I just wanna say all of this cuz, I don't feel right telling this to friends, family or even herself. Thanks guys, I hope one day everything will be fine.

Here's the story (web problem, it should be at first but it disappeared)

>be me
>be last summer
>be working as a "volunteer" in a day residence for the retarded
>be my first day there
>meet a nice old man, had an ictus and now has to use a wheelchair
>shit sucks but he takes it with humor
>that man was the best guy there, at lunchtime I always sit next to him so we could talk about shit n stuff
>there's a crazy woman there, not old but crazy
>she always shouted "motherfucker" really load and without reason
>me and ictus-bro laughed without remorse always
>one time we laugh more than usual
>the bitch of my superior notices and tries to punish me
>now I had to help the crazy woman eat in lunchtime
>before I go, ictus-bro tells me about a little prank
>plan went like this
>after I help the woman finish her lunch, I went to prepare her some coffee since the coffee machine broke recently
>while I'm preparing the coffee, I put on the cup like an insane amount of sugar, like 4 or 5 little packs of coffee when we can put only 2 maximum
>I help her drink that sugar bomb
>because she had her sense of taste basically destroyed from smoking pack n half of cigarets per day, she didn't even notice
>by gesture I communicate ictus-bro about the plan's success
>he tells me to w8
>30 minutes later
>two or three workers went running to the main hall while I was watching TV with ictus-bro
>we go n see what's happening
>crazy woman started shouting at everyone "motherfucker" like never before
>crazy woman was running like crazy through all the place shouting "motherfucker" at anyone who she saw
>ictus-bro and I laugh immensely
>ictus-bro is the best bro
>ictus-bro and I have a good time being dicks with everyone we wanted
>people working there didn't even notice or bother about us

You're looking at it with perfect hindsight you mong. The long term effects of radiation were largely unknown. They'd already firebombed japan to fucking shit and they were STILL holding out, despite fucking starving. If they just held out even more, or launched a land offensive, the death toll would have been even higher, and more civilians probably would have died. The original plan was to detonate the nukes and then HAVE THEIR SOLDIERS RUN STRAIGHT IT. This is 1945 we're talking about.

Don't live in the illusion of absolutes. Everything is circumstantial and you base your appearance to be a factor in how people treat you but what really makes a difference is how you treat others and expressing yourself openly. There's a storm brewing in your head that the world is your enemy, but everyone deals with the same kind of thoughts that you do. It's about having control over those thoughts and rising above the expectations you set yourself. You are more than a body, you're a mind.

>>
>>2258902
I'm sorry that your mother is being so cruel towards you instead of showing love and empathy. But don't let that ruin your life. You can still get a decent job in training and work your way up. Depressed people tend to get into a vicious cycle of beating themselves up over failing, losing motivation and thus continuing to fail. See failure not as something bad or immoral, see it as an opportunity to learn. Reflect, be honest with yourself and find out why things went wrong, so you know what to avoid in the future. And learn to accept that suffering is a part of life just as joy is. I know that sounds incredibly cheesy, but it is true. These changes in attitude will take time, and you might want to see a therapist if you can't grab a hold of them by yourself. That is fine, seeking help where your own power doesn't suffice is not weakness, it is wise. You're still young, and even if this might look like the end of days to you, you still have a lot of opportunities and a lot to experience. Best of luck, anon.
>>
>>2240858
Yeah, eye for an eye, right? That totally will not keep the spiral of death and destruction going. I don't know what made you such a cynical person, but I hope you stay safe and find happiness, and maybe you will change your view point. The world needs more love and empathy, not revenge and violence.
