In Google Chrome, whenever a hiragana character is surrounded in Japanese quotes, parenthesis or brackets, the first character is rendered incorrectly. Does anyone know what causes this and how it can be fixed? I've tried googling for a solution with no luck.

「こんにちは~」
【ははは】
in both of these, the first character is rendered without antialiasing and the quote/bracket itself looks thicker and misshapen compared to the closing quote/bracket.

I've been having this issue for about half a year now.

can't you change the browser's fonts? try downloading a jap typeface and setting it as default
