What religion accurately reflects the afterlife? Or rather, which is the most "true"?

Often times people talk about the elites having their own religion. What do they believe?
>>
>>18909195
Zen.

>Often times people talk about the elites having their own religion. What do they believe?

Moloch
>>
>>18909199
This one does seem the best to me.

>>18909202
Why don't you worship Moloch?
>>
>>18909208

I already worship Satan
can't switch sides also I'm not really big into child sacrifice because I don't have the money to do that
>>
>>18909222
Okay.

Assuming you aren't larping, why do you worship Satan?
>>
>>18909237
same reason all the muslims do it..he is the king of lies and they fell for his lies.
they make up shit in their mind why they have a completely rational logic and reason but at the end of the day they do what he wants them to
>>
>>18909256
My family was Muslim. How is Islam satanic? Islam is the worst religion in the world but it's not satanic.
>>
>>18909195
>What religion accurately reflects the afterlife? Or rather, which is the most "true"?

I don't think there is any.

>Often times people talk about the elites having their own religion. What do they believe?

A variety of different things, just like any other group of people.

You're asking the wrong questions
>>
>>18909348
What questions should I ask then
>>
>>18909363
>What questions should I ask then

Ones that question your reality, not other peoples. That is unless you're generally interested in what religions people follow and which one best depicts the afterlife.

But I'm assuming you're not asking for that reason. Is my assumption correct?
>>
>>18909321
What made you leave Islam?
I'm a Christian that briefly considered Islam, but research made me truly believe in Christ.
>>
>>18909374
I don't want a consensus. I'm more interested in "why" people follow different religions. People on /x/ aren't going to follow things because they are born into it, I'm assuming. That, and to get an understanding of the afterlife.

>>18909383
I read the entire Qu'ran from 12-14. My father wanted me to.

Islam makes a lot of bold assertions that are just too good to be true. They say that all of the prophets were Muslims, that the other two Abrahamic religions were corrupted, and that Jesus was a Muslim. This is pretty silly.

The Qu'ran is also the "literal" word of God. I don't care if other religious texts have mistakes in them--they aren't claiming to be the infallible word of God. The Bible is composed of several different texts of different genres, written by different authors. It doesn't need to be "perfect," whereas the Qu'ran can't say it isn't perfect(being the literal word of God). The Qu'ran has plenty of historical and scientific errors.

The Qu'ran is very violent. At 12, I had trouble believing that my friends who were "infidels" deserved to be put to death. I looked at Islamic apologetics and it was mostly just cop outs. Islam is anti-intellectual and probably the worst religion to follow unless you're looking to kill people.

I began following Christianity and now I'm looking into Buddhism.
>>
>>18909447
>>18909383
By prophets I mean Moses, Abraham, etc. All of them were apparently Muslims who prayed just like Muslims do now. Sounds ridiculous.
>>
>>18909447
So you want to know what the afterlife is like?
>>
>>18909455
Yes. I've read into NDEs and stuff. Doesn't seem to have anything conclusive. But it looks like there is definitely something and it isn't "nothing."
>>
>>18909195
>What religion accurately reflects the afterlife? Or rather, which is the most "true"?

Nine to one, take your pic, they're all complete crap.
>>
>>18909461
>and it isn't "nothing."

Obviously.. Nothing is only a concept like your ego.

Afterlife and life are no different, just as there is no nothing, there is no afterlife, what you're looking at, what you're experiencing is it.
>>
No one knows if there is an afterlife. There is no credible evidence. Someone saying that they saw something is not good evidence. So if someone says that they know that there is something after death, they are making shit up. Which is what religion does.

Death. Death is also a concept, a belief, you make a simple mistake of identifying with your body image.
>>
>>18909484
Interesting. Islam is evil. Probably true.

>>18909473
I'm sure someone has to have an idea out there.

>>18909486
Death is not just a concept. "Death" can be empirically proven. Or do you just mean it's a matter of perspective or something?
>>
>>18909195
You think of this portion of your existence as the most important. Don't think of it as you have a soul. Think of it as; Your soul has taken a body.
>>

No its not, we see [physical things deteriorate ie bodies. But what do you think happens to consciousness, or are you ignorant enough to believe consciousness source is in your brain?

Death is a concept

>Or do you just mean it's a matter of perspective or something?

Yes, what's the perspective of the dead man? And you can't say nothing? No thing. You can't
>>

Actually were the big thing they worship is on what was originally satanic worshiping grounds and I personally believe that the rock in the square thing was sent by satan and certain people believed it was sent by got but fell for the devals tricks and the reason it broke is because it was a gate for when the world was filled with enuff eval and had enuff satanic solder's he came through the gate and so Armageddon is due soon so yes Islam is satanic

How many depictions of the afterlife are in Christianity alone?

Some believe in heaven and hell, some believe in just heaven. Some believe in purgatory, some don't. Some believe it starts once you die, some believe it won't be until the world ends. Some object the idea of ghosts, some are okay with it. Then there's Mormonism.

Gnosticism accurately depicts all.

Religions are marked for the evil cults they are and the "gods" they follow aswell.

Ignore the yelling of christians that will come afterwards, their "theology" consists on yelling a lot, ignoring facts and spewing shitty excuses to conceal the truth, because their theology is pretty much a contest of liars.

How can I believe the miracles really happened?
How can I believe Mary was really virgin?

Please help.
>>

with God, all things are possible. there are many reasons to believe in God.
I've never understand why some people seem to have trouble believing that a God powerful enough to create the universe would be incapable of, say, making someone walk on water.
my personal inclination regarding miracles is that they are properly not violations of natural law--i.e. miracles don't involve impossible things happening, just peculiar uses of nature to achieve "miraculous" results.

1 Thessalonians 5:2
>for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

When times get tough, people always hope that Christ will come back. He never told us when His second coming would be, so you should just ignore these people.

It would really help you if you got in touch with a priest and maybe met up/called him. He would really be able to be explain everything to you.

Let me know if I can hep you with any other doubts, but you should try to find a parish/church near you here: https://masstimes.org/

They're both ugly religions, but I'd say I dislike Islam more for how gleefully it repeats "Unbelievers (and anyone who steps even slightly out of line) gonna burn!" throughout the entire Quran. It's disgustingly anti-human.
>>
>>18912182
Islam is very repetitive. The Qu'ran has that shit over and over and over. Shit like "Allah is the most merciful. He created the sun and the moon and the stars. The unbelievers will burn!"
>>
>>18909473
This. The shit people see while their brain is in the process of shutting down doesn't mean anything, and some people will make shit up to reaffirm people's beliefs and/or profit off it (like the Heaven Is For Real kid, who didn't even HAVE a near-death experience and later admitted to being coached by his parents on what to say)
>>
>>18912197
Yeah, I guess it's the fact that they can say "Allah is the most merciful!" and "Unbelievers are going to suffer eternal agony in the most horrific ways imaginable for all eternity!" in the same breath that really gets me.
>>
>>18912197
but that's good
>>
>>18912237
Actually not, it doesn't describe how UNBELIEVERS AND SINNERS WILL SUFFER IN HELL IN THE MOST METAL AND SADISTIC WAY POSSIBLE FOR ALL ETERNITY MUHAHAHAH

in most if not all hell related verses, it just says "unbelievers/sinners/bad guys go to hell and burn" and that's it

so if both christian and islam hell existed, we'd figure that the islamic hell would be much more merciful

>>18912182
In the quran there's a lot less hell or punishment related verses than the bible.
>>
>>18912253
>so if both christian and islam hell existed, we'd figure that the islamic hell would be much more merciful
There is literally nothing to suggest that.

Nothing, there is no source. Its just what there is, and always will be. You can't, from a human perspective its very hard to contemplate, we think of things as in terms of starting and ending.

The brain is not where your memory is stored
>>
Most, if not all, modern religions are control tactics. Especially the Abrahamic religions. Anyone who believes in Judaism, Christianity or Islam is retarded. Hinduism and other pagan religions (including Greek and Roman "mythology") seem to make a bit more sense. Buddhism is the only one that I could see being actual truth (especially considering there have been many people that have made predictions or understood scientific truths long before they were discovered, aka sages).

But instead of looking for truth in ancient historic texts written by pre-logic retards trying to understand things far beyond their comprehension, how about we use basic logic? God gave you a brain after all.

If he created us, it'd make sense that he loves us all, right? Otherwise he wouldn't have made us. If we are his children, it only makes sense to assume he would treat us as we treat our children, as we are made in his image, no?

If he is perfectly just and merciful, it is only logical to assume hell does not exist. Why would he create eternal suffering for his children? Even most of the most evil of people in this world wouldn't go around wishing that on others, let alone their children. Thus it would only make sense that only those without souls are capable of being evil enough to deserve hell -- meaning if you are seeing the world through your eyes and aren't just an automata, you are probably not going to hell. But also think about heaven. Why would we want to be in a place where all of our needs don't exist and everyone is on equal standing? What would you do? Art wouldn't exist, as there would be nothing to make art about if we are in eternal bliss. Play volleyball in the clouds? There'd be no competition, it'd never hit the san-- I mean clouds. No video games I'm sure. Porn? Absolutely not. It'd be boring as fuck.

With heaven and hell ruled out, the only things that would make sense would be reincarnation, or you become a ghost.
>>
>>18909484
>literally no other sources for this anywhere.

yeah nice try.
>>
>>18913159
>how about we use basic logic?
ok...
>If he created us, it'd make sense that he loves us all, right?
Only if there were no other result possible. Is it possible to create and not love the creation? I can think of a number of examples, even where a parent does not love their child. So no, it does not immediately make sense.
>If we are his children, it only makes sense to assume he would treat us as we treat our children, as we are made in his image, no?
Can you think of any examples where a child is abused, tortured, or killed by their parent? Again - no it does not immediately follow, according to logic.

>If he is perfectly just and merciful
I was willing to accept "creator" as an axiom, but what evidence - not statements from "pre-logic retards" that God has these qualities?

>Why would he create eternal suffering for his children?
Desire; why would God create anything?

>Thus it would only make sense that only those without souls are capable of being evil enough to deserve hell -- meaning if you are seeing the world through your eyes and aren't just an automata, you are probably not going to hell.
Logic has left the building...
>>
>>18913820
If he is all powerful, he doesn't make mistakes.
It is not normal to abuse torture or kill children for humans. Or most animals for that matter. So it doesn't make sense for God to do it unless we were not created in his image, which would defy ALL holy texts.
If we are created in his image (which all theists will agree upon), it would only make logical sense that the patterns seen in humanity would be interpretive of his personality.
What does he have to gain from eternal suffering?

If you want to believe a malevolent dickhead piece of deplorable shit created the universe, you do you. But if that is the case, I'll take hell because I'd prefer it to being in that cunthead's company for eternity.

Me? I'll continue to believe that he would mimic the best qualities of humanity and not the worst. Logic dictates that he creates the bad qualities to teach us why those qualities are not desirable -- aka to teach us to treat others as we would like to be treated.

Daoism/taosim.
The one with the yinyang.
It talks about how life independent of our perceptions is one big fucking mystery we can't solve. It says that after death, your body gets eaten by worms, then by birds, then by bears. the "afterlife" is just the continuation of life which has been and will continue to go on forever.

It's a pretty fuckin dead on religion, its more a philosophy, very undogmatic like the rest
>>
>>18914022
humans were created for gods amusement. children have been known to use a garden hose on ant hills for their amusement. the bible depicts god unleashing plagues and flooding the world

your nothing more than a ant to him
>>
>>18909195
None of them. The "secret" "they" dont want you to know is that there is no afterlife. You have no purpose. No more than a bear, a bee or your dog, anyways.
People need to feel in control. When your life sucks you need to have something to cling to. You need to think your jerk of a boss or that dictator up in Africa are going to be punished somehow, by someone. You need to know that if you behave and live a good life, you will be rewarded.
Look at how many people genuinely believe in miracle makers or diviners. People pay tens of thousands for someone to tell them that it will all be alright if they pray, that it wasnt their fault after all.
People literally abandon their families to live isolated in the name of their god. People kill and are killed gladly because a book said so.

It was made up from old myths and legends and reshaped into the spiritual payfest that is today.
People need something to believe in. If you took religion away from them they would make another one. If you somehow proved god isnt real, many people will lose all reason to live.
Bread and circus.
>>
How do you decide which religion is best for you?
>>
>>18914022
>If he is all powerful, he doesn't make mistakes.
Illogical. First, all powerful doesn't mean infallible. Second, if he's all powerful, that MUST include the power to make mistakes. Third, unless you are saying everything you might consider bad - including the torture and murder of children by a parent - is part of what God wants, there is plenty of evidence that there are things God does not want yet they still persist.

>which would defy ALL holy texts
So? Who cares is ALL the pre-logic retards from 2000 years ago said the same thing?

>it would only make logical sense that the patterns seen in humanity would be interpretive of his personality
The pattern I see is that people try to do good, but are often selfish and myopic, and they'll allow or even cause great harm and evil if they feel what they desire justifies it, or if they just aren't affected by it so they don't know/care.

>If you want to believe a malevolent dickhead piece of deplorable shit created the universe, you do you.
I'm just applying logic to what you said. When did desire become the main factor?

"allah" is literally "al lah," "the god." in the connotation of that site, it is using the phrase "the god" to refer to modern day "allah," which is a jump in itself. moreover, the word itself has been known to have been around long before islam, its known that pagans used it, but it wasnt used to refer to the abrahamic "the god." regardless, that site itself is pretty sketchy. it looks like one of those generic religious sites that picks a side and then tears the other apart within the safety of its own domain.

desu as much as i might want to believe that death is the end, and thats it, im also turned on by the idea that there's going to be a second coming and then a day of judgement. i like to believe theres an afterlife, but it must be huge to accomodate to every living being in the history of the universe. its strange trying to quantify its properties.

The "god" of the bible and his son jesus are the deceivers, they want to destroy and trap your soul, the bible and other alleged "holy" books are traps of the demiurge (YHVH).
They even have some failed prophecies, which christians will argue even tough there is nothing left to argue as the fail is very clear.

Matthew 10:23
Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
Matthew 16:28
Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.
Matthew 24:34
Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened.

As you can see, the second coming and the judgement and heaven and all was supposed to have come long ago.

To escape these people we must say it with our mouths: "Save me Satan". And then seek Abraxas and have faith in Him.

>how about we use basic logic?

It's not that simple. Perusing secondary literature such as Neale Donald Walsch and Urantia give us a conception of things that aren't possible for us to understand at this stage. Not to mention the fact that capacities of logical thinking differ drastically. Just saying.

I understand what you mean about not creating children you despise, but God didn't necessarily create everything either, as it says in Walsch's books.

And the prime question if we follow this series of logical conclusions is, what kind of existence does God want for himself? Because what is of prime importance to us is of course, ourselves, not our clones or whatever else you can think of.
