Occult and Magick General

Let's talk about silence (ironically).

When do you talk about magick? When do you keep it to yourself?

I think there's value in being willing and able to tell a stranger, or someone who isn't into the occult, about a working. Keeps you grounded, and shows you whether or not you're embarrassed or afraid.

That being said, oversharing quickly becomes indulgence. Imagine posting posting instagram story updates for the duration of a ritual.

> The Mandukya Upanishad is notable for having been recommended in the Muktikā Upanishad, through two central characters of the Ramayana, as the one Upanishad that alone is sufficient for knowledge to gain moksha, and as first in its list of eleven principal Upanishads.

Reading further, but first thought, describing falling deeper into sleep as becoming more connected is interesting.

Usually, wakefulness is associated with attainment, being 'woke'. But my impression of verses 1-6 is that our ego, or self, essentially enters deep sleep in order to forget itself.

The following Karika section screams about the three bodies. Physical, etheric, spiritual, and thus the three modes of perception.

This section seemed to point to union of the three. Far more useful than rejecting the gross for the fine. Every layer has to be balanced.
>>
>>21573445
To me it seems more about how awareness becomes increasingly subtle as you traverse the layers of being from jiva to atman. Understand the relationship between dreams and waking life to understand the relationship between pure being and dreams.
>>
>>21573491
Well I suppose without being anchored to the physical world, one can explore and experience the subtlties of the mental world. Material boundaries are generally too heavy. The metaphor that comes to mind is trying to swim in molasses.
>>
>>21573520

Indeed anon, though I would tend to question how truly anchored we are to the physical. I suspect one thing to be realized is our fundamental being is no more anchored to the physical than it is to a dream.

> “Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was myself. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man.”

"The 'Worship of Silence' is Carlyle's name for the sacred respect for restraint in speech till "thought has silently matured itself, … to hold one's tongue till some meaning lie behind to set it wagging," a doctrine which many misunderstand, almost wilfully, it would seem; silence being to him the very womb out of which all great things are born."

I consider the Upanishads to be the most personally significant texts I've read. Both for it's metaphysical concepts and for the depth of effects it's had on me.

Nothing else has ever moved me quite so literally, teaching a kind of cosmic freedom of movement and being which felt strangely natural to embrace. It's truly something special to me and it warms my heart seeing it discussed~

Unfortunately, from my experience, a lot of people in the occult really aren't skeptical enough with themselves or their results. If you ever looked at the human mind you would be very aware that the brain loves to see pattern and meaning in almost everything, regardless if if's "true" or not. This kind of pattern recognition is out of control for schizos, that's why they think a random person coughing has to do with their own life. It's similar with our memory. Human memory is pretty easy to distort and change the more often you recall something.

That's why I think it's important to keep a diary or a book where you write things down as they are. Or that you are very skeptical with your results and see if it's not just a mix of wishful thinking and confirmation bias. I mean for example things like numbers and initials, you see these things every day hundred of times but you never pay attention to them. You would go crazy if you would, so the brain just filters it out. But then suddenly you think the number 666 is meaningful so you start seeing it everywhere. Not because it suddenly appears, it was always there.
>>
>>21575002
Well yeah, once it's obvious what I'm doing people don't need to be paranoid about it anymore.

Hey maybe that will finally be the degree where he stops acting like an autistic troll 50 times a day. Doubtful, but still. Look at the description of the magister templi and see if that sounds like him.
Can you imagine a high ranking member of any other tradition acting the way he does? Imagine a 50-60 year old Christian monk acting the same way. Or a Buddhist monk. Or a Sufi. Or literally anything else, priest, yogi, anything. Even the Ch'an masters of yore acted more maturely even when hitting their students and yelling at them.
If you recall, a few months ago he was whining about how he sort of felt lost and sad and boo hoo this and that. And then something changed and he ramped up his trolling one hundred fold. Definitely sounds like an ego-less master who has a complete understanding of the universe, yeah?
Thelema makes insufferable people even more unbearable, and it turns normal people into cunts. This can easily be verified, just talk to any Thelemite and see for yourself. They managed to delude themselves into thinking that they're not just a bunch of new age cunts because they've wrapped their ideology in a grandiose way that makes it seem more serious than it is.
By their fruits shall you know them, yet the tree of Thelema lies barren and the old fruit at its feet is rotten and moldy.

Synchronicity is real, there's no such thing as coincidence. All falls within God's plan. That's partly what psychedelics do, they allow you to see the nigh infinite patterns and connections of life and revel in them. I imagine that's sort of close to a permanent enlightened state, being able to "see everything". Surely God would be able to see all of the connections and patterns of His Work, so to see synchronicity is to be a step closer to the divine.

What you're doing is pointless.
Occultist or not, no one likes to have their mistakes pointed out.
Usually, one's negative side is blocked out of one's perception, that is, the person can't understand why he elicits such reactions. He'll always be in the right, even if dozens of people are telling his behaviour is shit.
In psychology these are called defense mechanisms, the object if defense being one's sense of self, or the ego in common parlance. They're very powerful and will always deflect the blame. Even is Satyr murdered someone, he still would be right, and you wrong.
Work in a prison. See how many convicts admit what they did was wrong and that they committed a crime, that the blame is fully on them.
You need unflinching honesty and serious spiritual work to see one's own defense mechanism along with shitty behaviour.
Satyr, however, shares neither of the traits.
>but muh spiritual experience
Applewhite had one, Asahara had one, Manson had one, Osho had one. Muhammad had one, David Koresh had one, founders of puritanical fundamentalist sect had one, Andrew Cohen had one.
These experiences are dirt cheap, no matter what the occultists here tell you, and dangerous if they happen to an imbalanced individual.
That Satyr crossed the Abyss doesn't prove he's objectively a spiritual authority, just that he had an experience that corresponds to a certain degree in a certain system.
>By doing certain things certain results will follow
Just go outside and have a breath of fresh air. Let Satyr be Satyr, Ape be Ape, and everyone else be everyone else.

8=3 is a designated grade in the A.'.A.'. system.
The first number designates the number of the degree, going from the bottom (Malkuth), upward. The second number designates the closeness to Kether, the top, going down.

In this case, 8=3 is the 8th grade in the system, and the 3 designates the Sephira "Binah".

What cards often appear in your tarot reads? Or what trends are there in your divination of choice?

I personally get Devil, Tower, Ace Cups, 2 Wands, and a few of the unhappy sword cards (around 7-9).

Tower for me is my favorite of those. For me, a reminder that while I have an ego, it too must the devoted and turned towards the Work. Turn my tower into a temple.

Escape? I'm not familiar with that interpretation. Please elaborate if it suits you.

Generally, I see it as a representation of ego. As well as being destined to topple. Building up a tower of sin (Babel) that God will overthrow.

Doing it every day is the key. If you just do it once a week, don't bother.

In my dream I discovered satan worshipers and they told me I must join them or die.

I refused and tried to run, they chased me with knives. I took the knife from one and opened his inner arm from elbow to wrist. In front of my eyes he performed an incantation which healed the wound. I dropped the knife and told them I'd join.

Funny you should ask regarding Saturn particularly, as I'm intending on making a talisman for a saturnian entity later tonight. What I'm doing, since I don't have quick access to a lead plate, is to consecrate the talisman using 3 pieces (for Binah) of lead I have and purchased for this sole purpose. The lead physically on the talisman while consecrating. And whatever lead you do have, keep it on the altar or talisman if doing a particular working with it.

Its a good idea to be as pure as possible before any direct contact with an entity you want good relations with, unless its some entity that explicitly prefers the opposite. A bit of fasting and abstinence and a thorough bath is the least you can do.

Language.
And no, it's not 101 at all, unless all the texts you've read have been deeply rooted in the Abrahamic traditions.
To clarify though, since you seem to be conflating "purification" with "abstinence"; the holiest of acts within the Christian tradition is impregnation, to the point where it's a central motif in the very inception of the religion.
At the same time, "pure" doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means across different cultures, sub-cultures or else.
The only determinant of success is experience, and what works for you, works for you. That it works for you is not evidence of it working for others as well, so calling it "101 shit" is entirely missing the context of the works you've been consuming.

No No NO. A resounding 'NO'. This is not a subjective issue. These are real, documented, objective near-universal commonalities that exist outside your hippy hug-box post-modern self-absorbed worldview. This is the most educated general, on /x/ so I might ask here as in past I've always had interesting discussions.
As of recently I had an existential crisis, I was constantly in depression and a state of nihilism so out of it my mind urged me to study religions, etymology of Greek and Hebrew words for both old testament and new testament interpretation to see what the ancients meant in their discourse and not just what truncated information gets passed today...
Of course, I've learned a lot, and a lot of information I've studied in the past linked better in my head...
One thing led to another and I've started to study Gnosticism hardcore, my inner being was so happy with the things I've read, but It seems to kind of have faded in impact from 13th-ish century ahead, arguably we got Templars and masons after that which are linked to gnostic groups more than just due to circumstance...
that aside - I've came to see the Holy Spirit in Christian theology as the Forethought of the virginal spirit... yea and then in orthodox theology poetic compositions meant for monastic and church service - the whole text encompasses that feminine and gnostic aspect so profoundly - I was shocked.
I'll try to find an accurate English translation - the exists one, let me dig more and I'll reply with full text to share with you.
Thing is I've also started to intensively study the Greeks and late antiquity-early medieval Roman theologians and philosophers.
I've ended up with putting my rational self, rational mind as a centerpiece of my being - ever since then I've also developed a new set of skills which are very practical, I envision everything in form and accurate - I constantly have in my head a relational map of things and see how they are connected, hard to explain - but my inner imagination work when I study new things became very rational and geometric.

What's the pressing matter is that all of sudden I'm constantly engulfed by a blue light in my head.
>>
>>21574808
Wrists would be a safer option.
For real though, if I ever was compelled to do this, would a cat scratch be effective? It doesn't seem very ceremonial, but damn, I'd rather not cut myself willingly and my cat makes me bleed all the time

Cont.

That blue light especially intensifies when I think rationally or when I remind myself of the teachings from ancient times, it dosen't come alone - it's associated with a sensation of calm - but a very mild calm which allows one to be engaged in his tasks.

So I'm wondering in the scheme of many schools of teachings I have no idea of - what's the interpretation of this? What's the occult meaning of the color blue.

Also what's the meaning of this change of mind, and a new way to perceive forms and things geometrically in life associated with a change of values in ones heart.

Sometimes when I think about truthful speech, the Logos and empty my mind / heart of everything but that, I start to perceive smells akin to the ones in church so to speak - but in the same time I start to feel a mild horror and room gets knocks and feels like I become very very small and engulfed by darkness. But after that I'm left for a long time wondering about it, but in the same time somewhat reticent in approaching it...

First, if you'd like answers, learn brevity. This is the tao of satyrposting.

Regarding blue. Blue is meaningful in different ways to different schools. I recommend learning qabalah, but there are other schools.

Don't put your rationality on a pedestal, it will fail you. Full stop.

If you really want to know what it means, sit down and meditate on it. It's like dream analysis, the best person to do it is you.
>>
>>21577793
Good point, I was delaying that because I want to do some heroic doses of DMT and extraction is not ready yet - to get some inner answers on top of my research.

I feel like there's no going back, rationality is the path of faith - the easy, straight and illuminated path.

Without it there's still similar or very straight paths but filled with temptation and challenges, in the past such attempts never got me anywhere but threw me in a lower state of being for years.

Now as I focus on wisdom my life is getting better on top of my inner world becoming full of forms.
>>
>>21577815
Meditation will help you far more than dmt.

Rationality is not the path of faith. It is a path of indulgence, and you will hobble yourself by holding onto it. Wisdom and rationality are very, very different.

I really think you'll benefit from the qabalah. It'll illucidate some of these topics for you. Otherwise, it seems as though you've made up your mind already. Good luck with your rationality, then.

I mean, I guess you could say it's used in New Age tradition, but chakral knowledge has always been evolving, and like some poster is a previous thread said, it isn't fully understood. The current system is missing all of the energy whorls in the arms, legs, hands and feet, though I have seen people mention chakras that extend down into the Earth and higher above the crown chakra. That being said, do as though wilt, you can literally make a "personal chakra" system out of anything or any connotations. Just make sure you know what you're dealing with before you set anything "in stone".

What does any of that have to do with the library? Yes, there are probably plenty of texts in the library dealing with this topic, but overall, if you don't seek the proper initiation, whether that is self-initiation or not, you're missing a huge component of the overall work.

I have a question for Ape and potentially Palo

You suggested Jake Stratton-Kent's "Geosophia" to me quite some time ago.
I've only just finally read it, and something really stuck out to me in his mention of the Sibyls as they exist in Church tradition and the intersection between them and the veneration of saints in Vodoun as well as traditional craft dual-faith observance.

Do you have any further resources on conjure work with Christianized figures of pagan origin similar to the Sibyls?

Complete Tables WAS in the library as of early 2015. Are you sure you're not looking in the wrong place?

Imagine being so vapid that you get the title of a book tattooed...on your FUCKING 5HEAD! Not a clever reference, or even a quote, with or without character/author attribution...but the title of a book. Before we even consider WHAT book it is, we’re already several steps of retardation beyond the Negative Veil of IQ.

Oh it's you again. Still have nothing but assumptions and autism. We were talking about Chakras. Pray tell what that has to do with Scientology and Mormonism?
You have a lot in common with Scientologists and Mormons in that the whole lot of you should get shot on sight.

The letters of the Greek words Thelema, "will", and agape, "love", add up to 93. The greeting is based on a passage in, The Book of the Law.

What would be the appropriate hex to cast on someone if that person has been remote viewing you and invading your privacy?
Is it possible to use magick to cause someone to get hacked? Or should I preform some sort of spell that binds or traps them until they give into my demands?
