They better because the US, Australia and Canada certainly won't.
>>
>Germany a cuck again
I've honestly only met two actual longtime animefags in my whole life and I only met them because I befriended them after I saw them posting about it in the first place.
Also it seems like almost everyone that once watched a few series seems to completely substitute anime with games once they hit the 20s.
>>
>>174131652
It's literally killing it creating enormous demand while Japan has limited resources. More and more anime is made, schedules become tighter, it's harder to find new animators. And then suddenly we get shitton of QUALITY, stupid recaps ever 4-5 episodes and studios simply going bankrupt. Anime industry should slow the fuck down.
>>
>>174131786
i actually started watching anime with 26. that chart really shouldnt be a surprised to you, though. ever since ~2003(?) germans pulled a 180 on anime. that weeb who shot up a school really stuck with people.

An American anime would be about some fat nonbinary black faggot in a wheelchair saving the day from the evil cisstraight white man.
An Australian anime would be an Emu's quest for acceptance in a human world.
A Canadian anime would all be in flash, and would be about a cancer patient and a nurse falling in love.

Looking at all the Chinese mobile games that come out very quickly, China likes cute anime girls with just a smidgen of lewd. Not too much because of their strict censorship laws, so they seem to go for mostly cute over lewd. And this has resulted in quite a lot of lolis? I swear that almost half the girls in Azur Lane are lolis for example...

>aussies were such weebs
Yeah it's fucking nuts. I recently started working and four of the guys around my age (mid 20s) all watch it. Two are normalfags who only know of popular shounen trash whereas the other two are massive hoarders who've been at it since the 90s. One claims he has over a thousand physical series on VCR, DVD and BD, with some good taste and might even be a lurker here; and the other is a black weeb who spends his paycheck every week buying and ordering BDs and figs. Fuck that black weeb though, he's an echifag who turns his nose up whenever I mention CGDCT and loli series.

The weirdest part is they're all so casual about it. They just bring it up at work no differently then sports or videogames.

The story was still shit in the first couple seasons, it was just carried by Monty's flair for action. The problem is the setting has potential but they just don't use it well at all and the character designs tend to be too wacky especially since the new choreographers aren't Monty.

Because unlike before we can buy stuff legally.

Not surprising. Aside from economic issues, anime seems to just have gotten smaller here through the years. I mean, you have Crunchyroll subscriptions, but you don't have the presence of big merchandising lines or multiple anime airing on open tv anymore. Child programming on open tv is much smaller than in the past, and what remained is mostly cartoons. Even something as big as Dragonball Super didn't get an open tv airing.

OP pic is about countries that buy legally anime and consume it.
>>
>>174158572
No idea
>>
>>174161779
No, it's just the number of contracts. It doesn't say anything about how well these sell and it doesn't say shit about anime consumption.
>>
>>174158663
Maybe it's Kawamori trying to kill China with that shit.

I still don't understand why that anime even exists. At some point someone should have said "guys, it's impossible to make 2 cour anime with this budget". Satelight should fuck that shit and go back to making Symphogear XVZYW and random LN adaptations while Kawamori should start thinking about Macross: Redemption.
>>
>>174163138
If they have high number of contracts, it's because they consume lots of anime.
>>
>>174164084
And if they have low number of contracts, they don't consume lots of anime?
Or, you know, they might just not consume lots of domestic licenced anime. Or they just might not consume much legal anime at all.

The chart doesn't say if those contracts are protitable or not, just that there is any kind of contract.

cant wait untill based Abe goes nanking on pedophilia in anime

I hope semi-harems and harems are the next shit that gets killed. It's almost always aids tier shit and they don't even deliver anything for romance fags since most harem authors refuse to show kisses and stuff in order to not piss off waifu fags.
>>
>>174164460
wont happen if anything loli is making a come back
>>
>>174164373
If there is a contract, it's because countries are interested to broadcast anime in those countries

South America and Africa don't consume legally at all.
>>
>>174152293
Close to Asia
>>
>>174151764
You're still some kind of weeb if you still watch that shit. The Aussie who only ever watched Yugioh, Megaman NT Warriors and Digimon Fusion as a kid but is up to date with Vrains, Applimon and is marathoning the 2008 Megaman remake on his days off is probably more of an otaku than the casual Dragon Maid/Comic Girls/etc fan in my opinion.
>>
>>174164719
Yep
Also, isekai, I never got the appeal of that shit
>>
>>174160257
Enough % of people there consume anime legally, so yes. Don't be so retarded.
>>
>>174142485
There are still people in Taiwan who unironically think Taiwan represents the one true China, it's just unfortunate that those nutjobs make up a good portion of the government.
That being said, it's true that we are all a bunch of fucking weebs, just look at the population to anime consumption ratio
>>
Japan can make whatever the fuck they want for foreigners as long as they don't stop making trashy cute girl shows and idolshit. I live off those.

Bank workers, farmers and Portuguese immigrants.

>>174152612
We (and Italians) are big on manga, not so much anime.

And when did the Canadians ever worship us ? Anglo-Canadians pretend to be friendly but hate us and French-Canadians think we're pompous cunts.

>>174160645
You'd think a language spoken by 90M+ people in one of the richest areas on Earth could have a sub scene.

I just want more big tiddie anime girls

We can, it's just not sold to us
It's not like the US where I can go to certain DVD stores where they have anime sections. If we find DVDs, they tend to be bootleg DVDs.
>>
>Australia that high

Wtf ? I thought you cunts were above that.
>>
>>174144182
I couldn't even stomach the first episode so I wouldn't know.
>>
>>174170975
>It's just not sold to us

Because you can't afford them and you'd rather pirate than acquire it legally
>>
>>174171262
DVDs aren't that expensive, my man
Stop posting like an /int/ child, piracy is a service problem. If you don't provide a convenient way for people to buy your shit, they just won't bother.
>>
>>174131052
Australia has had a pretty large otaku subculture for a long time.
>>
>>174134913
Why do you think there are so many Australians on this site?
>>
>>174167662
Too bad that's fading away same with Isekai shit. Hard science-fiction like Blade Runner and GITS are making a huge comeback in anime and manga.
>>
>>174171655
>DVD's

LMAO, who the fuck buy DVDs these days?
>>
>>174171874
Interesting
>>
>>174151798
why?
>>
>>174131052
It seems like they are really into anime for some reason.
>>
>>174141031
It's not like it comes as a surprise. We knew this was going to happen, and it's pretty much inevitable.

I'm shocked

>piracy is a service problem
Die you brainwashed drone.
That was the line Gabe Newell used to brainwash idiots into paying for digital distribution. It subtly suggests that media is a service and should be "sold" like one, instead of being sold like a good via physical release like it used to.
>>174172457
Why the fuck would you ever pay for digital distribution?
>>
>>174177817
>>>/v/
>>
>>174148235
There is almost no anime distribution in Poland, we have a lot of translated manga that's sold in many bookstores but there's only one company that's releasing "official" anime subs and they do one several years old anime at a time so no one really cares about it
Also we don't have a widely available TV channel that airs anime, until 2014 there was a gaming TV called Hyper that also aired some anime like Lain or Death Note but it died, now there's something called 2x2 but it's only available in small tv providers so almost no one has it they air anime with an awful voiceover not dub, there's one voice for males and one voice for females so maybe that's good

While I don't buy BD, I have got a lot of LNs from Amazon, they have pretty good deals for books almost every two months.

doraemon, shin chan, kiteretsu, conan, kochikame are all huge in india.

Try searching Doraemon or Shin Chan on youtube based on viewership, it's all india.
>>
>>174157297
Indian here, anime was even bigger before, we had Animax Asia uptil last year, and most animation channels are filled with anime, Pokemn, Beyblade, Digimon, Dragon Ball, Yugioh, Doraemon, Shin Chan, literally everyone knows about them.
