The real point he was making is that one of Frieren's main themes is making the impossible possible (that was Himmel's motto). This theme directly contradicts the story's view of demons, who are impossible to redeem and must be killed on sight. This is despite the fact they are intelligent creatures, so there's nothing fundamentally making coexistence impossible (unlike the other "impossible" feats the hero party performed). In fact, we were directly shown a demon that successfully negotiated with humans and kept her promise (Solitar). Solitar herself, ironically, is proof that demons and humans can tolerate each other. Though I'm pretty sure that was done by accident and not authorial intention.

One of her major things is writing alien species with an actual alien mindset that works on different values and even thought systems than humans do, e.g. her Foreigner novels for instance. One thing I still don't quite wrap my head around with Frieren demons is how they can function as a species or society. Are new demons some sort of proto blob that that forms into whatever they're put up against? E.g. are there demons specialized in killing dogs? Is it actual evolution? Are they, the humanoid demons, capable to function as a society or even have goals if humans were to vanish from the face of the planet? Would they be able to manufacture clothes or even care to do it? Why humans? Current humans are portrayed to have come into actual power relatively recently after Flamme made wide scale study of magic a thing. So why did demons "evolve" to be such sophisticated mages if humans used to be scrubs? Or were humans powerful in the mythic age? Are demons gene experiments gone wrong in ancient times? What time frames are we talking about here?tl;dr I still have trouble accepting the evolutionary aspect of those demons and how they're supposed to function as an intelligent species.Mind you, I can overlook all those questions and simply accept the author going "I needed some fantasy antagonists for Frieren, ok? While there's definitely a talent difference between mages, the Goddess' magic seems to come down entirely to being chosen. Sein is a super-powerful priest despite mostly wasting his life up until now, Heiter was a god among men as a teenager. Frieren has a bit of divine grace to herself, but it's just that, a little. When facing the chaos flower, she withstood the curse better than Stark and Fern, but still succumbed to it unlike Sein which tells you who the Goddess favors. The two types of magic are completely different and how good you are at each doesn't influence the other.
