What's the smallest episode file size /a/ can watch?0-100mb - full of artifacts100-200mb - stuttering mess200-300mb - Good enough for non-action anime300-400mb - The standard for me400-500mb - Good for action anime500-600mb and up - I don't know why you would
>>283404677100mb rmv (480p)
more filesize = more quality
>>283405054This. Bigger file = bigger pixels = more better
Whatever the best release is. Sometimes that's <100mb because you're in VHSrip hell, sometimes it's 6-9gb because the only decent option is a BD remux. You take what you can get.

>>283405054= more languages>Jestem pewien, że z przyjemnością przejrzysz włoskie, chińskie, francuskie, bengalskie i koreańskie napisy, aby znaleźć te właściwe.
>>283404677I aim for 1080p with around 200mb - 500mb episode sizes. I won't touch 1gb episodes unless it is from an anime I really enjoy.
>>283405040good ol' day
>>283404677I'm an old fag still remember the days of watching anime under 100 mbs on youtube
>>283405368>1080p with around 200mb - 500mb episode sizes
>>283405508Nobody who was watching anime on youtube at any point in history is oldfag
>>283404677If it's seasonal I don't even look at the filesize because I'm just deleting it when the season is upIf I like it enough to rewatch, I'll redownload a better encoded batch release
>>283405040I used to get an average of 80mb rmv anime file sizes.
>>283405579>youtube was 30 years ago
>>283404677Completely depends on the codec. With AV1 it's possible to compress a 1080p episode into 120-200 MB without noticeable artifacts.
>>283405764I'm not convinced that these new more "efficient" codecs aren't just an exercise in gaslighting about what is "noticeable", using like settings between codecs the newer one is always slower and produces a bigger file of worse quality than x264
>>283404677whatever this is
>What's the smallest episode file size /a/ can watch?~300Mb HEVC for a full 24' episode
>>283405653Absolute bullshit, are you watching anime on your phone?
>>283405886I dunno anon, I tested different codecs with different settings using the same clip, and the difference in size at the point of visible quality worsening was pretty impressive.
>>283405893>Zoro and Sanji cum in Straw Hat's butt
>>283404677
I don't watch anything below 4.6GB per ep
I like h264 8-bit because while it's generally larger for the same quality it just werks with fucking everything. The plague of h264 10-bit in anime releases was a fucking catastrophe for that and I really wish it had never caught on.
>>283406063I can't recall if it was bleach during the mid00s
>>283404677I like the 200MB-500MB range
>>283404677Modern shows are grainless so 200MB
>>283406164Technology has come so far.
>>283404677The industry should do vector stuff again. Like flash animations you could scale infinitely and still have perfect resolution
>>283404677Max 200-300 for 720pMax 500-600 for 1080p

>>283404677You wouldn't have this problem if your GPU has native AV1 rendering support.
