Healin good had the last true planet level threat, Delicious Party if you want to stretch it but I don’t count that. Star Twinkle had the biggest power level spike which was vs universe level destruction events, some people might argue gooyan or Dark King are stronger but their powers are more vague unlike ST where we physically saw the entire universe wiped out by a black hole. All Stars F and Mirai days aside which are planet level+ threats but they aren’t main series.

Delicious Party Review 18!I honestly need more Mari fighting after that.Summary for the anons that need it: The girls have a little dessert with Amane as they beg her to join them as cures, but due to her memory of Gentlu, she can't bring herself to do it. As Amane's Oniichans treat the girls for their attempt, Narcistoru is outside grabbing a Recipipi he missed last episode; Amane's little Parfait Recipipi. Amane is protected from the capturing effects by the crystal to Mari's amazement. Narcistoru is happy for a second round, especially with a powerful recipipi and pulls out the MoTW. Before Mari can get the Delicious Field up, the MoTW grabs Amane and pulls her in. The girls are stunned for a moment, but get to work, trying their best to not hurt Amane. Its careful going as the MoTW is using Amane as a shield and its array of attacks are making it impossible for the Cures. After the MoTW spews its ass-destroying molten curry the Cures are lost, but Mari believes in them in the face of such spicy curry. The Cures nod and attempt again with Spicy sealing then pot, while Yum ties it down, with Precious working to open the hand; she can't. As Precious struggles, she works to convince Amane to become a cure. Amane breaks down remember meeting her Recipipi and wanting to become a parfait. Amane is ready, but needs freedom and Mari hops onto the MoTW to tickle its exposed armpit, allowing Precious some leverage. With Amane freed, the MoTW blows its load and goes all out, but Amane's Crystal comes into play becoming a Cure Pendant. Amane tansforms into Cure Finale. Finale drops a few thousand punches, and Precious comes in with her 1000Kcal punch allowing Finale her first cleanse. Afterwards Amane gets to reconnect with her Recipipi who, not only demands everyone worship it and Amane, but explains the Pendant was promised to her 3000 years ago.
I do wonder how the reveal will go down.

HG's a little weird to calculate since I think if it would have been on a normal schedule, the Daruizen and King Byogen stuff would have been split up into completely seperate arcs with Christmas to seperate them. HaCha I would probably say is start of December which is when the final MotW type is revealed; its batch of character episodes are wrapped up relatively early compared to newer seasons are why it's longer than usual. Suite is probably Christmas; there's significant plot at Christmas itself and before, but Christmas is when the final boss is able to actually start using his own power to the fullest. Splash Star's final arc arguably starts earlier when the other generals come back under Gohyan, though since they are all defeated again by Christmas, that's a clear enough delineation point between the final battle and that event.

I think I've figured out one of the things that bothers me about Idol and contributes to it feeling worse when you get deeper in: the villains aren't doing anything. And I mean that even more than the average season. They fundamentally lack an objective to work towards. In other seasons you'll have some macguffin the characters are searching for, someone the bad guys are trying to bring back, some bog standard evil magic container filling up. Even if they never meaningfully advance things until the last episodes, even if they rarely get significant victories, there's at least a veneer of motivation behind the struggles. But in Idol>fairyland is already darkened at the start>ribbons do nothing except restore light>villains try to "plunge the world into darkness" with the same motw every time The individual generals are all good to great but it feels like they treat villainy like it's just their job, or even a hobby. Show up when they're forced to, rarely care they lost, quit entirely when they feel like it. And while that's part of what makes them charming it's also what makes that side of the story feel so aimless. What's Darkine's goal beyond just making things dark, if she even has one? More importantly, how does she plan to achieve that goal? Her faction has been on the back foot the entire season, never achieving anything meaningful, never getting something out of their actions. Short of her possessing Kiss, Darkine's eventual unblobification will come out of nowhere because the series hasn't written in a single plot point or device or anything that would possibly be tangentially related to "restoring the evil leader's powers".

Finale arc was pretty good with a caveat; fuck Nico.I'd say my biggest problem are the characters. Komugi's a glorified mascot that never really develops past being a good dog. She's consistently fun, which is why I don't hate her remotely, but there's zero depth. Yuki is pretty similar in how she's a good cat, but good cats are inherently more complicated characters than good dogs, so she feels less like a glorified mascot. I don't mind Iroha being the defacto leader according to the story but the problem is that the most interesting thing about her is her boyfriend. Satoru isn't too bad but I kind of wish he had more going on than having his life revolve around Iroha. Mayu's unquestionably great though, did nothing wrong, even when she goes into deranged shipper mode, she's fun.I probably wouldn't have nearly as much problem with Nico if the show didn't pretend like she was warming up to the Cures only to backstab them when it was convenient. Now the wishing rock though, that was a real bro. Overall, a good season despite my qualms, but good is average for Precure. Definitely would take it over HS any day.
