It makes up for its weak writing with the author at least knowing how to draw cool fight scenes but when all is said and done, no one really remembers anything about JJK. However, I think even if JJK will be forgotten in the wheels of time, Gojo himself will be remembered for a very long time because he's bigger than his own franchise and memes will sustain JJK a bit longer. KnY has nothing to offer either. It's just another run-of-the-mill monster hunter battle shounen. But unlike JJK that at least makes up its poor writing with cool fights, KnY doesn't really shine in any area. The art on both manga are bad but JJK has a bit more positives because the artist has spatial awareness and a sense of choreography when drawing fights unlike KnY's where the art has no sense of flow and the fight scenes are exposition dumps. Sometimes the dialogue lands in the emotional scenes, but the artist still fumbles because the dialogues are mostly dull monologues about nothing and characters always describing what they see, what they do, what they hear and what they feel, leaving no space for subtlety whatsover. Almost as if the artist has no faith in his audience's intelligence.KnY also has this problem of being overreliant on flashbacks to flesh out a bunch of otherwise underdeveloped characters because it's easier to show the trauma than to develop it organically in the present timeline. The series is built on tragedy porn and almost every major character (and many minor ones) has a "my entire family was slaughtered by demons" sob story for maximum pathos quickly before the next fight hits.Having said that, I like JJK a little more because Gege focused on what he was good at: cool fights.
