The whole “I’ll push my best friend away for her own good and then resent her for listening” plotline is peak Love Live melodrama.But I think calling her the biggest bitch ever is a bit much. She’s not malicious, she’s just emotionally constipated and terrible at communicating. The backflip thing especially is less “lol do dangerous stunt again” and more her projecting her own guilt and trauma onto Chika. It’s dumb, yeah, but it fits how she handles everything else: bottle it up, make unilateral decisions, suffer quietly.Dia acting like Mari was at fault was also dumb writing, I won’t defend that. Sunshine had to bend over backwards to keep the drama going when a single honest conversation would’ve solved it in one episode.Still, once S2 rolls around she chills out a lot and actually becomes supportive instead of sabotaging herself for the 50th time. She’s flawed as hell, but that’s kinda why she’s interesting compared to the usual pure cinnamon roll archetype.
