The ever present feeling that you're just watching 2d filters over stiffly animated 3D models of the same few poseable dolls with different hair and clothes.

Cheap hand drawn animation could at least feel organic. Easier to get immersed.

I remember when the early 10s designs and animations were the futuristic designs.

Me too. It's really weird. I thought that the 2000s shit looked bad a lot of the time and stuff was getting better in the 10s. Now I think the 2000s color use wasn't very good but it was well animated and storyboarded. The shit now is just so fucking sterile.

Guilty Crown looked great at the beginning to me. A sci fi about the future with all the great new animation. Nowdays it looks outdated but better than many new series.

Serious question, why can't the studios draw characters exactly as they were drawn 10 years ago?

They don't have the skills anymore, the new generations have no experience drawing outside of a tablet and using tons of computer assistance.
Pencil hand drawn art is lost technology.

Old talent retiring or seeking better paid jobs, zero budgets show for show now, Isekai becoming successful driving actual writing away, Western modern standards cracking down on what is morally acceptable.

Nothing is experimental or risky any more and every production company is risk averse cowards unwilling to take chances.

I don't see why these have to be mutually exclusive. Are you saying it's impossible to write a good story in a fantasy world setting? I find that very difficult to believe.

All of his opinions come from factoids he overheard from youtube video essays he had playing on a second monitor while farming gold on runescape. He can't actually explain how nichie kadokawa isekai anime has "ruined the industry."

Stop wasting your time trying to gatekeep!
I doubt you've made your point when both of them are fine.

>>288268037
I've never even seen either of them, so I'm confident even the source material is likely soulless to begin with.
Must be some cashgrab harem BS anime made to fill up a timeslot on the terebi

I confused Date a Live with No Game no Life until I actually watched No Game no Life in Winter 2018/2019. I also informed myself a bit about Date a Live. The story seem to be very confusing and nonsensical and I watched the first scene where the sister kicked the mc's balls. I liked that scene because I love femdom and I thought about watching it after seeing that but I haven't done it yet.
I wasn't aware that the highschool battle harem craze was already gone back then although I noticed more isekai being made.

I'm interested again in watching it but I don't know where to put it in my hiatus.
I miss NGNL. Back when I watched it there was still hope for a second season because of the movie. The same thing happaned with Haruhi for me. I watched it in 2015 and there was still hope for season 3 back then because of the Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan spinoff that came out that year, the same time as I watched Haruhi but I wasn't aware of the spinoff yet.

Literally the first person to say which series that comes from was a reply after yours. There's no way anyone should be expected to know what series those pictures come from if all (you) have to say is "trying too hard"
>>
>>288270249
And yes, my point still stands. In fact, it's now evident that even the source material is in fact, soulless. Same as High School DxD. Only people who watch harem BS anime would be able to comprehend which show is which.

OP, you can't just post something like that without also posting that Kurumi scene, at least part of it.

Isekai growing in popularity corresponding to a drop it quality doesn't necessarily need to be connected to the fact that isekai is defined by having a fantasy setting. What's actually going on is the environment that most of these isekai are coming from is one that rewards derivative, formulaic, and overly trope reliant stories because they are easy to pump out with little effort and already have an established audience that knows exactly what to expect and likes that fact. It could have been any genre, isekai is just what they happened to latch onto.

I'm focusing only on Kauru's hair on top. It's constantly flowing with almost every movement, even the little turns of the head. The bangs, side locks, the strands of the ponytail, there's just no comparison.

I don't think “moe” is the problem, because I see big-eyed girls from the past and I want to both fuck them and marry them. I think the art in the medium has just gotten worse overall. Anime doesn't feel different or special anymore, it's like watching Western cartoons with a bit more stylization, but it’s still at the top because Western companies are too retarded and cretinous to even try to make animation that can be enjoyed by general audiences on a massive scale outside of CG kids’ movies.

>>
>>288268037
Anime industry now mostly produces working drones that are passionless, overworked and ones that hate small details as they take too much time and time is money. Greed and it becoming mainstream with endless lowered standards killed anime. For passionate artists you look at manga, sadly for pretty animations there almost no studios left.
