The sequence with Fox was really well done this episode. I got hyped when ken starts Hokuto Hyakuretsu Kyaku'ing him. I promise I'm trying not to enjoy this for the sake of the original and because I expected it to be Berserk 2016 bad, but I'm finding myself enjoying it anyway. Maybe I lowered my standards too much in preparation for it to be terrible, but the voice acting is really good. He's not as good as Akira Kamiya, but perhaps the best since. The music isn't beating the spaghetti Western style original soundtrack, but it's still pretty good. I'm even forgetting how bad the CG hair looks because they are using better lighting compositions, and the choreography seems better than earlier episodes.
>>288273523It's Playstation 2 cel shading cutscene tier animation, it does nothing on me.
I haven't actually watched or read the original so I have nothing to compare this adaptation to, but honestly if I had higher standards and if it weren't for the fact that it's a beloved classic I probably would've dropped it. Every episode is just Ken effortlessly clearing out a bunch of comically evil goons while side characters go "gee post-apocalyptic life is hard." There doesn't seem to be any overarching plot, the characters aren't very interesting, and while bad CG usually doesn't bother me it really must be said that it's particularly bad here.I'll stick with it for now but given HnS's place in the cultural zeitgeist I just can't help but be disappointed.
>>288273523This week's hand-drawn sequence.>>288274134There is an overarching plot, it just hasn't begun yet. Many, and I do mean many battle manga start episodic at first until they find a nucleus for the story, especially back in the 80s. I will say however that with the pacing they're going, the plot will pretty much start in season 2.>it really must be said that it's particularly bad hereIt really isn't, you don't know what bad CG is, sweet summer child.
Also, this really weird overly detailed hand-drawn still. Honestly almost looks like AI but upon close inspection I couldn't find any telltale signs of a sloppa.
>>288274134>Every episode is just Ken effortlessly clearing out a bunch of comically evil goons you managed to miss any clip of hnk uploaded online? just drop this and watch the ovas, maybe check the original and the movie if you're still curious, this isn't worth your time
>>288274134>There doesn't seem to be any overarching plot, the characters aren't very interestingThat's mainly because the plot doesn't really start until this asshole shows up.
>>288273523Well, I'm having fun.
>>288274918>That's mainly because the plot doesn't really start until this asshole shows up.I feel like this manga would get axed already if it's serialize in today's WSJ.
>>288274996everything would, zoomers are ADHD-ridden retards
>remakes
It's amazing how mooks still attack and threaten him even after everything they see.
It's always funny to see the windmill.
>>288275547It's what clara would have wanted
Has Bat asploded yet?
>>288274996It must have been doing something right at the time to be able get to that point. Tetsuo Hara's first manga in Jump got canned even faster than a lot of the cancelled series in modern Jump.
>>288274134>if it weren't for the fact that it's a beloved classic I probably would've dropped itif you're watching because it's a classic, then why not stick with the old version?the plot will still have the problems you mentioned, but at least you will have experienced the actual work that placed itself in said zeitgeist, not a pale imitation
I still prefer the movie version style of animation

>>288276239Lmao
>>288276018Anon should just read the manga, above all else.
>>288274134It's a bit of an issue with the manga since it's basically just shounen stress relief for the first goon slaughtering bit until you're introduced to Rei who begins the actual plot with Jagi, Raoh, Toki, etc. In the original anime it's made a bit worse by the fact that there's a lot of filler at the start that filters people (although it does make feel Shin's final confrontation feel better built up)
>>288276239kek
>>288274992I haven't been keeping up with the modern anime. Is this the same scene?
Pillaging and murdering aside, riding with your crew in the post-apocalypse looks comfy.
