>>4857803you don't really need to know much to get SFM started, especially with the database of models and sounds already available. its UI is also generally more user friendly.blenders UI is getting better but still complete ass and there are way more options exposed. the built in soft body physics also likes to explode if you move the model too fast without tweaking it properly so a lot of people end up making really slow boring animations just to avoid polygons crumpling into each other.

That functionality is now implemented by an unofficial plugin, which is limited by the asinine UI of the base software. All characters are a physics simulation which makes it easier for bad animators to create something OK, but nearly impossible for decent animators to create something unique and good. It can also look unnatural like everybody is a doll. Also loading a scene takes 3 minutes on a high-end PC and the performance is dogshit, the UI is unusable
