I've never had an answer to a prayer, the only way to communicate with Jesus is reading what he said and telling him stuff he doesn't even respond to. It's like a friend ignoring your ass because he's bored of you.

Memorizing passages felt more helpful. I think I need a more practical religious approach like yoga or something like that, any ideas?

Hey Anon. Don’t worry too much about it. Doubts and spiritual dry spells are actually part of the faith. Remember, even Christ’s own disciples has crises of faith. Peter denied Him three times, and Thomas doubted him even until His resurrection. And that was when He walked the Earth. It is no wonder then why so many today face even more doubts. One of God’s many titles, even in the Bible, is that He is the invisible God. (Colossians 1:15-17)

Therefore, prayer will always be answered in invisible ways. You never know God’s handiwork until after the fact when looking back. For example, you may have a personal trial and are suffering, and you ask God for help, and you receive no answer. Months pass, maybe a year, and you resolved to push through the trial yourself. It then dawns on you that God did not need to answer the prayer, because He had faith in (you) just as you in Him. And that He supplied strength and perseverance to push through the suffering, rather than remove the suffering, for your own growth. This may be one of those moments.

Also, avoid practices of Yoga and other south-east asian or eastern forms of astecisism. While Yoga seems harmless and practical, it is a form of reverence and worship to the Hindu pantheon of Gods/Goddesses, each pose representing a specific form of symbolism assigned to each deity. Hinduism openly worships wickedness, many of their deities behaving more demonic than divine, with entire castes dedicated to amorality or desceration of that which is good (see: agori caste, or followers of Kali). Their spiritual practices are reflected in their culture of India, just as fruits reflect the state of the tree which they grow. India is in moral disrepair, with many inhumane and spiritually destructive beliefs and attitudes. Women raped, children left for dead, the sick and dying left to die on streets, bodies given to rivers, cultural attitudes of thinking the suffering are deserving of their pain or grief with ‘karma’ used as the excuse to not practice charity.

That is the fruit of their spirituality, and Yoga is a produce of that. It will do you no good if you wish to follow Christ.

yes kundalini and shit like that is demonic frfr
>each pose representing a specific form of symbolism assigned to each deity.
maybe, but yoga is fine if you only do the poses and nothing spiritual about it. it's just stretching.

Doubts are your rational mind grasping for a seat at your consciousness.

>Doubts are your rational mind grasping for a seat at your consciousness.
Nope. Doubts are reductive of reason, in fact, doubtfulness is often an emotional state moreso than cognitive. And emotions are irrational by default. And if we want to discuss rationality, would you like to explain how we can get something from nothing?

The spiritual life seems most alive in the Orthodox Church, and they are the most serious and authentic of all that I've seen.

Doubt tends to lead a lot of people to very bad places too, and you never see Schooler doubting himself, do you?

The big problem with Orthodox is that they don't believe in hell. Which might as well make it modern evangelism for all the tradition actually matters in the end.

How do I avoid going to Hell, anon?

What do you mean they don't believe in Hell?

You can try meditation, that one is pretty simple and if you practice consistently and pay attention, you'll notice changes fairly quickly.

>I've never had an answer to a prayer
He listen to your prayers. But he is not your personal "genie". He is not here to give you wealth, fame, or women. This is what the devil grants. God's kingdom is not of this world.

God has listened to my prayers so far. Me and my family are fed, clothed, and sheltered. What could I ask more than that? I don't desire the things of this world. I have 2 messages for you, first is a passage of 1 John 2, the other is a poem.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

...

I asked for…, and God gave me…

I asked for strength,
And God gave me difficulties to make me strong;

I asked for wisdom,
And God gave me problems to learn to solve;

I asked for prosperity,
And God gave me brain and brawn to work;

I asked for courage,
And God gave me dangers to overcome;

I asked for love,
And God gave me people to help;

I asked for favors,
And God gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted – I received everything I needed.
My prayer has been answered!

I'd consider looking into older doctrines, and the (dysfunctional) sister religions of Christianity. You can understand a lot more of the truth when you look at it from, equally flawed but in different ways, angles.

They are right, there's no such a thing as hell, as it's preached by Catholics and Protestants. There's this brother who explains very well.
