I've been a NEET for the past year or two, and I realized that I need to make some serious changes. Apologies if this comes across as a bit scattered—there’s a lot I’m trying to figure out, and I could really use some advice.I dropped out of college when I was 19? after completing one semester of comp sci. I haven't held a job in over a year, mainly because my last full-time job felt overwhelming. I just felt like I had 0 free time and I think that left an imprint on me, but I know that I can't avoid getting a job forever.I'm considering going back to college, but I have concerns about the cost and what I would major in. I have an interest in computers/technology but I'm not sure if I actually want to work in that field or not. I feel more motivated now than when I was in high school (where iirc i had a gpa of 2) but I'm not sure if college is the right idea for me right now.I've been making efforts to eat healthier since around june, I stopped eating all fast food and I've been avoding anything with trans fats/hyrdogenated oils. My diet nnow consists of mostly pasta, grilled frozen chicken, breaded fish, and homemade pizza. I'm also trying to gain weight since i'm 5'11" and 120 pounds, which i've been told is very underweight. I'm trying to aim for 2000+ calories daily. For exercise, I've started walking two miles twice a week and lifting weights twice a week.
I'm also trying to improve my own apperance too. Typically, I just wear jeans and a t shirt, but I do own smarter clothes like polos and dress shirts. I've kept my hair long, but I'm open to changing it. I will probably take a picture with my face blurred out later. In terms of grooming, I wash my face twice a day, use sunscreen and moisturizer, and shower ever other day (to avoid drying out my skin). I'm not sure wheteher or not I need to wash my bedsheets weekly or every other week? Also is it ok to wear the same pair of jeans for a week or should I wash them more often. I try to maintain good posture, but i'm not sure if I need to sit/stand up straight 24/7 or if it's ok to relax my posture sometimes.I'm not great at socializing and don't have any close friends or a girlfriend. I'm interested in meeting people and improving my social skills but I'm not sure where to start or what to do. My main motivation for all of this is to meet a girl if I'm being honest, I just feel isolated and lonely these days.Any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated.
Good job making healthy improvements. Basically there's just a handful of things to consider when it comes to your future (if youre a regular person)- do you have beauty or charisma that can carry you through life?- are you very talented at something that can carry you through life?if the answer is no, then that usually means nobody is going to support you as an adult. maybe your parents will. what happens with NEETing is you can get bored and find yourself in a trap between shitty working life and almost feeling like a ghost, because your contact with the world is so minimal. its a personal decision but there are plenty of downsides to NEETing. I dont think there's any easy road available to the vast majority. You usually have to fight to have a life that's meaningful to you.
>>32242160>do you have beauty or charisma that can carry you through life?I'm not sure whether or not i'd be considered attractive if I'm being honest. I can say that I don't have any charisma, maybe a little? I don't know.>are you very talented at something that can carry you through life? The first thing that comes to my mind is anything related to technology, but the last two jobs I had were tech related and I didn't like them. I fell like working in tech would just make me more isolated.

>>32239366Good on you for improving yourself man. You'll be alright
>>32239366I enjoyed being a neet far more than I do being a wagie.
>>32239366I won't read yet another how to escape NEETdom/reset my life thread. See the archive.
>>32239366I would try figuring out a couple of career options just so you can go to college with a clearer goal in mind, even if you end up pivoting later. This can help in transitioning from college to a job if college ends up being necessary in your career path. My community college offers free career counseling, so maybe see if there’s anything like that in your area. Personally, I wasn’t that satisfied, but you might have better luck and even talking it out could help. In the mean time, try volunteering or getting a part-time job just so you can keep yourself busy/fill put your resume/potentially make connections without being too stressed out.>>32239367I think washing sheets just depends on your body and how much oil you produce. I personally wash every two weeks and some people even do every 3-4. Most people have told me to wash pillowcases every week though. With pants, I try to rotate them out so I can wear them more often. Jeans can take a lot more abuse, so if you’re fine with every week, I would keep doing that. Also, try to get as much advice as possible so you can judge for yourself, I’m just some random person on the internet and honestly not that much better than a NEET in my current circumstances. Good luck.
