I tried searching online but it constantly flip flops between "IT KILLS YOUR DEVICE!" to "It's fine lmao". And honestly I am getting tired of it.

Some colours are more cold than others. White, I think. Definitely not chrome. Metal parts, even ornamental, will dissipate heat. It is worth the cover if it will be moved plenty and not just stay mostly on the table. I’d be more worried about impact protection than optimal performance.
