Was a shut-in for 3-4 years, Now I'm more or less cured and decided to socialize but I've literally forgotten how to talk to people, Not hyperbole someone says something and I just stand there like a fucking retard
Conversations *can* flow but I don't know the mechanism behind it, I literally didn't have a friend since elementary. and haven't had a conversation longer than five sentences in 4 years.

Like everything else, the more you do it the better you get at it. I recommend using omegle to practice, so you dont have to sperg out irl at first. Some tips for conversation is just to talk about whats around you and ask questions, try to make the other person talk about themselves as much as possible. Give me some situations you would be in and ill give you some conversation examples

Ive done stints of isolation so I have an idea what you're experiencing. 4 years is long though anon.

Your "ability" to talk with people will return with use. Seek situations that require you to participate.

Attend the AA meetings. Just don't tell your story. Thru immersion if nothing else you'll regain some social skills. Don't be a moron and ask a chick out for a drink. Coffee maybe. Those people got burned out of society by alcohol or whatever other addiction, they're pretty familiar with the whole process of reintegrating with society. You're just skipping the acquire a drug addiction step; its overrated don't feel like you're missing out on anything LOL.
A pretty good line is "wanna talk about it" then sit there like you're an amateur therapist and occasionally nod or ask little questions to show you're paying attention.
"Oh I'm not feeling ready to talk about my story yet, not today anyway" etc.

I get that, but less pain please?
I can't talk unless it's for good reason, I don't really get how to use it for anything other than conveying necessary information very bluntly but that can't keep up a conversation.
>situation
I work as a shelf stocker, the girls tried talking to me at the start but I just stayed silent and did my job until they moved on. About once a month they ask me where I'm from, and I answer, and the conversation ends.

Kek, I was exactly like this. If you have a job that permits it you're in real danger of it carrying on indefinitely.

Do you read anon and do you have internal monologue?

No apples but 150 IQ (pre isolation-brain-damage), What changed for you anon?

doesn't work that way.

>“The joy of life is won only by those who have faced great difficulties and overcome them.”

pain is a useful indicator you're doing it wrong or not as good as you could be

What kind of job will train me but not get me eaten by clients
