Im turning 30 soon and wanna start studying law to become a lawyer before 40, I dropped out of high school (no ged) and have been working construction for the past 10+ years, I just want a different career. Where should I even begin? And don't get me wrong I make close to 6 figures doing construction so it's not about the money I just need something else in my life.

>>33922346Accurate. Be warned that the law field will be hit hard by AI. Making six figs as a lawyer is also fairly tough. You dont just walk into a do nothing great job as an attorney. Its generally hell.
AI has completely changed the field. Remember Better Call Saul? The types of lawyers Chuck and Jimmy were? Everything that Chuck was great for, all his knowledge, is worthless now. You get all the information to win a case in a matter of seconds from LLMs. All that counts now are the skills Jimmy had: marketing, entrepreneurship, charisma. I suggest doing an unpaid internship or some secretary job at a law firm to get the feeling of what it's like and only if you are ok with it, to proceed. I studied and dropped out of law school myself, btw
>>33926364>at a law firmA surprising percentage of grads can't get a job in the field, so you're warping your perspective by only meeting with the "winners".What AI doesn't do is check all the citations and verify nothing important was missed. Too much money laying around for something thats only correct 51% of the time.AI is really handy for "did I forget anything" or "can I improve this" questions.Way too many documents filed with imaginary case citations generated by AI LOL. Very expensive mistake. Just the same as engineering, really. It is really a sales job. My business lawyer isn't really a dude who does law but a dude who sells people on C corps vs S corps vs B corps vs LLCs vs all kinds of shit. Its like thinking the salesman who sold you your car builds car engines when you're not buying a car. Nope its mostly communicating and selling. He ended up selling me on setting up a LLC consulting company. Worked out very well. But he's a sales guy first and a lawyer second. I probably could have filled out the forms myself if I had the time and motivation, but he knows what he's doing and did it quicker.
