I'm thinking about buying a cheap plot of land in rural Arkansas and tent camping on it. How long do you think I can get away with this before getting kicked out?
>>33924633Forever.
>>33924633Like that another anon said. It's your land, they can't kick you off
Rural? You can usually do whatever the fuck you want.Just check up on the local laws and regulations. And if the nearby land gets more populated new laws could be forced on you.I have thought about getting some land and living as cheap as possible. I think property taxes were cheapest in rural Louisiana. But fuck Louisiana.
>>33924633Why tent? Get a used RV on top and live comfortably. I'm not familiar with your laws over ther, but unelss there is a very specific provision against long term parking on your own land there is basically fuck all they can do unless you keep the car operational and don't do that trashy amerian thing of removing the wheels and turnign into a slum dwelling.
>>33925006Some jurisdictions will make your life miserable for permanently living on the land without adequate sanitation. Your neighbors will make your life miserable if you create an eye sore or they feel you are affecting their property value. That said, those issues are easy to avoid if you aren't an idiot.
>>33924633A better question would be how long do you think you can stand the heat and humidity in the summer without AC before quitting.
>>33925586Not op, but I had thought of just running off grid solar, but AC and heat pumps guzzle electricity. A well insulated tiny home or camper could make do though without too much battery backup.Again, fuck the deep south. 103 degree heat with a 103 degree dewpoint means sweating doesn't cool you down.
>>33925006Yes, they can. There is no law. There is only government and its enemies, and if you don't pay them $20k extortion money for "permits" that makes you an enemy
In the US in a non leftwing state?Just put something that looks like a building on it say a shipping crate with painted windows. Forever. If some council goon comes up "oh I only stay here once in a while".Your lucky OP, there's basically no way to do this in my country anymore, fkn commies.
>>33926636you got it all wrong. building something requires a permit. that is much harder to obtain than simply living on a field of grass. in pretty much every country, probably yours too
