It is a masterpiece.I am a big fan of the show, and imo it's not so much that the show falls off but rather each season of the show is EXTREMELY complicated, and by the third/fourth season, if you aren't paying attention, it can seem downright unrelated. There is also a very big genre shift, season 3 goes into a deeply cyberpunk direction, and season 4 is more of like a black mirror sort of thing in terms of vibe. If you can get into the subtleties of the story (which is a LOT of effort, you can honestly rewatch the first season 6 or 7 times and still find new things in a rewatch, and ALL season are that dense), it's insanely good and ambitious. It's a shame it was never allowed to have its final season, a lot of fans speculate the show ends with the start of the first season.
