I left Islam when I was in my early 20s and honestly after going threw the new agey phase , the actual core of islam does a lot of things right - the thing that gets me is I can't defend muhammad and his hadiths. And it's clear that sages and people along the way within the religion understood the assignmentIt would just make my life easier - the name and aesthetic of mine is already suited for it, it would be easy to build up in that world. But holy eff, there's sooo many problems with muslims and those people in general - the thought of being associated with them drives me up the wall.I thought about being christian but honestly I live in a white heavy city in the west , I've lived long enough to know without certain traits I'll never be accepted by these people.
>>34555115You don't need to be an adept of any religion in particular, you know. You can take the ideas that you do agree with and follow them and disregard the ideas that you disagree with.
>>34555115You're just a theist. Talk to and find ways to obey God. Take some of your old ways and your new ways, and fiddle with them.
>>34555115>I've lived long enough to know without certain traits I'll never be accepted by these people.Christianity is not about being accepted by the world or by people, in fact, it's the exact opposite. To follow Christ is to be an enemy of the world.
>>34555161This OP, God doesn't care if you are accepted for following His will or not. He cares that you do His works here on Earth
>>34555161>To follow Christ is to be an enemy of the world.>largest, most lucrative voter-base in the most important nation on the planetlmao
>>34555115>I've lived long enough to know without certain traits I'll never be accepted by these people.Go to a Catholic parish, not an ethnified Protestant denomination. Also this >>34555161. Don't worry anon, just make contact with your closest Catholic priest and tell him your worries. He's heard it before and will be able to guide you.
>>34555161>To follow Christ is to be an enemy of the world.Yes. You're being subversive to your own nation and even family. I wouldn't recommend christianity. It leads to wanting nothing. It destroys the will.
>>34555115Select from the religion (or from others as well) the moral code that seems of most value to you, and choose to live your life by it (in effect creating your own church).
>>34555115>there's sooo many problems with muslims and those people in generalThere are problems with the average person in any tradition. A genuine Buddhist will see very little of himself in his fellow Buddhists, and a genuine Christian will see very little of himself in his fellow Christians. Religious sincerity is for the few who take the time to truly understand it, which is a matter of relentless study and introspection. If you want to stay within your own tradition while rejecting the parts that go against morality and rationality, then trace it back to its Neoplatonic roots, study hard, and become an example of doing it right for others to follow.
>>34555115>sooo many problems with muslims.Like Israeli propaganda? What is otherwise wrong with them?
>>34555383This is an astute observation. American Evangelicals and modern Protestants are not Christians - they hate the poor and the destitute. They make all sorts of concessions for war and military brutality. Most of them have never known Christ and will never know Christ. They're just retards that think proclaiming "Christ is my Lord and Savior" guarantees that their names will be written in the book of life without ever having evaluated the states of their hearts or having actually allowed Christ to work through their hands to bring about a better world.
>>34555115No Christian church would reject you, especially if you came in genuinely curious and tell them your background with Islam. They love to use stories like this to show the power of God in evangelizing
>>34555115just stop being a retarded racetraitor seeking validation from white christiansreligion is just a social structure, use it to benefit you
>>34555115>thought about being christian but honestly I live in a white heavy city in the west , I've lived long enough to know without certain traits I'll never be accepted by these people. This shouldn't stop you from finding Christ, which is a universalist religion. And while I do think that Christianity bears the fruit of community and belonging, you should align with what you believe in over what you think is most comfortable. Consider some of the Reformed/Calvinist teachings, read some Calvin and Knox. Prioritize your personal connection with God and reading the Bible. Turn to Church fathers writings for things you are not sure on. And I do agree that Islam has a lot of good, but it is also ultimately not the full truth and has been warped away from that truth.
