I want some pet rats, are they cheap to care for?I heard they were like dogs, but, smaller.
>>5069582>are they cheap to care for? They're tiny so food can't be expensive. A decent cage might be pricy. >I heard they were like dogs, but, smaller. Are you planning on letting them roam around your home? That would be fucking retarded.
>>5069626>Are you planning on letting them roam around your home? That would be fucking retarded. No no, of course not..
dont forget the string anon
thinking to do the same as a poor bachelor . Have something to care for and cuddle sometimes.>>5069626actually I think if you have dogs closing off a room or two instead of letting them roam freely around the house when you are away may be better for their psyche.
Everyone is comparing half decent pets to dogs from oscar fish to small horses lmfao.NO, they are nothing like dogs. They are like rodents, intelligent and aware rodents. _I wouldn't say they are low maintenance, they need a large cage regular cleaning because they piss a lot and their piss stinks. The males also drip sticky piss everywhere they go, and they chew up all wires they have access to.On the positive side they are playful rodents and smart enough to learn tricks, play with you and express affection.
there's a rat thread
>>5070273can you make them wear diapers?
>>5069582I would say so. I usually get the bogo Oxbow rat food and that will last 4 rats awhile. You'll definitely want to get your new pet a companion so they don't get lonely. I suggest 2-3 girls since I've had better experience in friendliness than boys.A single unit Critter Nation works well and starting their enclosure is a big chunk of the money to face. I have fed mine fresh fruits and vegetables on the daily and if you get things like baby carrots they're dirt cheap. Make sure to get a water bottle, food bowls, bedding, and throw in a couple hides/toys and that's the setup
>>5070494Funny, I've always heard boy rats were more chill and social.
