Intel fucked up and let them win. It was the most obvious duopoly flip of all time and intel will never overtake them again.NVIDIA won by playing a different game.I was in high school when I first started researching how to build a gaming PC.My first PC had an AMD Bulldozer CPU (garbage).I remember checking Intel, NVIDIA and AMD stock back then, and they were both dirt cheap. Then Ryzen came out and kept getting yearly refreshes. I remember distinctly thinking AMD stock is undervalued but I was only 16 then and didnt have shit for money. Fast forward, I feel like a fucking retard for not having bought in 2018-2020.None of you guys ever talked about NVDA or AMD until after they mooned but I was thinking of this play for ten years. Next time an obvious duopoly flip happens I'm buying that shit.

everyone on /g/ who also cared about stocks thought the same thing. But most of us were poor little shits as well.I thought the same about Amazon and Apple when I was in high school (and I read about Apple guys shilling Netflix) but I had like 200 euro networth and buying stocks in my country wasn't even possible. But in the end I got early into Bitcoin, so I can't complain.
>>61429423This is my favorite /biz/ post.
>>61429405>>61429418>>61429423>>61429442>>61429443At the time it was really, really, really obvious and I'm not sure why more people didnt speak up about it.If you were paying attention to the actual quality of the products, AMD went from dumpster fire to wtf this is just better than intel overnight and no one cared, not even the gaymers. All the reviewers were astroturfed as fuck and very obviously shilling intel against AMD.AMD was suppressed. Good news about AMD was flooded out by negative press and it gave the impression that Ryzen was a failure when it beat intel in price:performance AND brought in insane revenue. Now all my fucking devices are AMD and I never bought the stock I just feel retarded.
>>61429454>Now all my fucking devices are AMD and I never bought the stock I just feel retarded. That's a good point.
>>61429387You could have bought both Intel and AMD and made a bunch of money by now, retard. Stop wallowing with your hindsight and get a grip on your reality
>>61429387I sold at 12 dollars.

Should one invest in intel now though ? The reason being US might poor money into own company chip production. i missed the boat when it was below $20 per share but maybe it will go up to 400 now ?
>>61431555Best time to invest in INTC was at $20 but you should squeeze out some value out of it still, I can plausibly see them at $100 within the next 2-3 years as things are going well and they have a massive political advantage.
>>61431557I really wanted to invest when it was sub 20. It was when news where announced that intel was in trouble and behind competitors. I remembered how intel was dominated the market for so long and it was such a well know company for such a cheap price compared to other tech giants. Also read few articles how US is throwing money at it because of too much chip production is dependent on Taiwans TSMC. Feels emotionally difficult to invest now that AI is in bubble and it went 2x just before my nose. Also up 8% yesterday... fuck...
>>61431596Yeah the FUD around intel was intense and I was at $30 DCA when it fell to $20, still I bought some more to average down to $25 just because I saw that american chip manufacturing is something they agree on across the political divide and Taiwan making all the US chips is an insane situation right now, this had to pumpOn the technical side Intel unfucked themselves a bit with Core Ultra already and 18A is tentatively looking good, they still have 14A up their sleeve, my assumption is this will pump quite a bit though $50 will be hard for me as I could just sell and take my 100% but I will cross that bridge when I get there. As an additional advantage, Intel is not balls deep into AI.
>>61429454dont feel so bad man i remember building my gaming pc in end of 2011 and literally EVERYONE was talking about how good the new intel i7 chip was and how average amd was in comparison. i ended up getting an i5 but it still today in the same computer im on rn. also could overclock those chips (i never did) they were great products back then man people just thought intel would keep expanding and amd would always be playing catch-up in a cheaper, lower quality market. who knew that consumer hardware would still have such huge competition that it does today. obviously nobody knew about ai or crypto mining but most people thought software would be where all the competition is. intel back then = smart people and quality products. i still have that perception of them now even though things are totally different. i guess thats what being old means
>>61429454It's easy to say afterwards you "knew", it's more difficult to have conviction before you actually literally know.I knew dogecoin could make it to a dollar when I got into crypto but everyone said it was retarded to think it would ever even reach 0.001, so I didn't hold onto my bags.
>>61431902I support former anon. Tech blowing up was on the horizon. We didn't knew when or that it will be nvidia or amd but common, we should have known. The money was somewhere there. I'm not sure why ASML lags behind though, it stopped going to the moon around 2021 while mostly others did.
>>61431639>>61431555Intel actually seems like a good buy tbph. Thanks you sirs for the shilling.
>>61429387„a 100x twice“ would be a 10000x fucking retard
