During the dotcom days basically every article was positive and talked endlessly about the dream possibilities, even remote possibilities of the technology. Most people hate AI currently. Most people are not actively investing in it. When you start seeing articles like "AI Will Allow Us to Teleport to Other Planets!" "AI Is Going To Help Us Terraform the Moon and Live Forever" and shit like that nonstop, all the time, you are in a bubble.
