I don't like this at all. Why are we gifting some gen alpha retards free six figures with my tax dollars? Fuck them kids.

This isn't a comment on this particular legislation, but if the country improves things for future generations, that means future generations will live better lives than you, and you have to accept that.

thats gonna be worth about $45 in todays money, NGMI
>>
Honestly, we should be doing more to democratize the wealth in the markets. Way too many people out there think financial success comes from some out-of-reach goal, when it's really about steady contributions and time in the market.

I remember taking some financial courses in middle school and high school. We learned how to write checks, how to balance a checkbook, etc. This was in the late 2000s, too. It's really insane to me that we'll learn this bullshit and what the predicate of a sentence is, but we don't teach investing. Instead, the kids learn how to lose money on the crypto casino, or spending money on $400 sneakers.

We need to do better.

Stocks aren't real. If everyone has $3,000,000 in stocks, it doesn't make everyone rich, it makes $3,000,000 worthless. SOMEONE has to do labor. Someone needs to keep the lights running, keep the toilets unclogged, keep the floors mopped, and keep your soggy fast food orders assembled.
The art of American wealth inequality is finding out how far we can bend the ratio of people who can live free instagram-snapping lives vs people who carry those people's luggage.

For the next few years, babies born in the U.S. will basically be given a savings account with a few thousand dollars. Even with just okay returns, they'll be worth a lot by the time they're 35 or 40.
>>
>>61436031
Nothing to do with your tax dollars, everything to do with being free from taxation. Just like 401(k)'s and IRAs are supposed to be (but won't be).

Give it seven years (Vance or another Republican will win 2028, then get booted out as the economic collapse intensifies) until our next socialist president and you'll see these accounts get raided by whatever communist fucktard the Dems get elected.

So how is a child supposed to put money into their "Trump Accounts" exactly?

Oh, their parents have to do it?

So it's just a trust fund?

Oh okay so it's worthless for anyone that isn't already in the 0.1%.

God I hate conservatards.

Instead of SPY or QQQ if parents fully invested their kids' Trump Accounts in PHYS or PSLV they would have a chance at generating generational wealth by 35.

>if the maximum amount
So what is the maximum account? Thousands of dollars every year? If I had a child I might be able to afford that but shitload of Americans won't.
And why are we assuming that the market is just going to grow at a constant rate forever? The growth in the last 2 decades were driven by massive advances in consumer tech. What's going to be the next explosion in personal computers? What's the next iphone? What's the next social media? What's the next explosion of video games? These things have already started to plateau so am I supposed to believe we're going to see even more revolutionary shit and all of it will only benefit American stocks?

Wait I already know, they're banking on AI shit. That stuff is only good for porn.

How is this democratizing wealth? It’s turning blue collar tax dollars into time-locked liquidity for the asset managing class.

>>
>>61436751
So first off, the top 20 percent of earners pay 85 percent of the tax revenue. Everyone else basically gets a refund. Second, owning assets is the way to build wealth, not work. I know people that have worked since the 1980s, retired, and didn't save a dime. They expected to just magically be wealthy by 65. You can't do that without ownership of assets.

They don’t want us to make it.

Billions spent on education each year.

Show me they want us to learn how to make it.

They don’t!
>>
>>61436769
Instead of trying to launchpad kids into a retarded environment of boomer design we could also just build more shit. They're only top earners because rent seeking is the only game in town.

>>61436400
True

Every
Dollar spent on welfare makes my dollar worth less.

Stimulus checks devalue the dollar.

If Trump gave everyone a million dollars, 1 million dollars would equal zero.

Yes they are you dumbfuck. Owning a company is like owning a skyscraper. It has value and you can rent it out.

stocks and the market have been the best method to become wealthy for centuries. making every american into a shareholder makes the entire country wealthier and sets up people for success.

This is propaganda to get people to store their savings in credit investments such as stocks and bonds. The economy is nothing more than credit sloshing around and they are worried that young people are not investing at all because they know all the value has already been stolen and we're probably near the top.
Physical capital assets and precious metals are where you want to be putting money these days.
Pic rel. This is what exponential functions do on a long enough timeline. Nothing about America works without the bond market holding "purchasing power" in IOU form. The money is spent, and the government is lying to you that they can pay it back. The government doesn't owe you anything, it's actually you and I who pay for it all via taxation. So it is actually UOU. You all expect Social Security and Healthcare etc. Well guess what, you can have whatever the hell you want, but YOU have to be taxed to pay for it. $120TN liabilities? That's a you-problem. Just hand over $200,000 per person and you can have your little stipend and your little wellness checkup. Once you die, all of that money doesn't go to your children. Nope. They default on "you" and never the bonds.
So if you haven't noticed, the financial system compels the government to set up grifts to impoverish you.
>>
>>61436058
Thats the fucking idea, you boomer fucker. Jesus you people truly are a waste of goddam life.
>>
>>61436403
When they are going to have "access" to it, it will be gone because it will or is going to be used for the ww3 war effort. Basically, it doesn't exist and it never will. Just like the DOGE refund money doesn't exist and the $2,000 refund doesn't exist.

The contributions to the "Trump Accounts" are POST-tax, and the kids can't even withdraw them at age 18 without a jewish 10% tax penalty like an IRA. The government expects you to keep that liquidity locked up for your babies until age 60. More jewish than a 50 year mortgage. It's just another scam to pump the stonk market to 100X P/E ratios. You'd be better off buying your kids monero and just leaving it, then they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.

Im so sick of people acting like money in the modern day is a finite resource that is allocated to different things.
"WHY ARE MY TAX DOLLARS BEING USED TO BLAH BLAH BLAH"
you fucking imbecile your tax dollars are being thrown into a giant money pit of debt and everything is paid for by an ever increasing amount of loans
None of this fucking matters anymore. The money isnt real, the value of labor isnt real, everything is just scammers competing to see how much they can rig the system

This is UBI lmao. Also since Gen A starts in 2013, it'll probably be Gen B that benefits most, they'll just have to keep their nest egg while doing minimum work and living with their boomer grandparents (their millennial parents will just have to inherit the house).
