Should you invest 100 dollars per month to become a millionaire by 70? Or is that too late?
>>61438968more like>the power of inflationby the time you have that million it will be like 100k today (optimistically)
>>61438968Why would I settle at being a millionaire by 70 when I could be a 10 millionaire by 90? Better yet, I would have 100 million by 110
>>61438968Why aren't you a millionaire now? Surely you're part of the top 10% right?
>>61438968A million barely means anything now, by the time I'm 75 (40 years) it will mean nothing. 40 years from now a loaf of bread will cost $10,000
A milli will get you a holiday or 2nd hand car or something by the time you are 70.
>>61438968None of this is possible without the bond market. The U.S. bond market is $46TN in size which is over TWICE the size of the U.S. GDP. Every asset you own has its price inflated by debt which needs to be paid back or written off as an economic loss. The whole grift of American Capitalism is that you are tax-cattle, and Wallstreet is saddling you up with debt. They spend the money today, and you own an asset that is not an "IOU". It's a "UOU". You are tax cattle and all of the money you give to Social Security is spend and replaced with a bond that says "We'll tax you later to pay you back!" It's a gigantic "Go fuck yourself" and a lot of people are going to be destroyed once they find out there is no money. The same people that ruthlessly cause wars that kill millions don't give two fucks about you. They bankrupted you because you were too stupid and too self centered to look under the hood to realize it was nothing more than a thieving operation. You deserve every misery headed your way.
>>61438968Hardly, depends on the asset tho, I started with lock, ton, zec now, and once privacy becomes the main narrative in the market it’ll be moonride all over
>>61439018You're expecting wages to grow faster than stocks?>>61439002You expect to be paid $10k per hour to afford that bread?>>61438976You think the average Starbucks employee will be making $10k per hour?
>>61439083The average Starbucks worker will be a third worlder earning subsistence wages while sharing a crack den with 23 other thirdies.
>>61439083>You think the average Starbucks employee will be making $10k per hour?where did I say that?
>>61438968okay but tell me how do you get an annual 10% return?Like I am trying to re-assess my banking options here in Switzerland and NOTHING, NO ENTITY gives a fucking interest above 1.5%. And that option is literally a pension plan, meaning I cant touch the money put in before the age of 65! I dont know how you americans do it or what it is with you guys.Is this 10% like high risk ETFs? Im not even sure that is a normal return here in Switzerland. Please any Swiss anons or people from DACH region chip in.

>>61439277If you want decent advice focused on Swiss residents, search for The Poor Swiss Blog.TLDR: buy mostly (>70%) world market equity ETF, just like Americans should. Don't buy US bonds, not even 20% like may US advisors suggest because of your currency risk.Buy Gold instead, because CH bonds don't pay shit. Or Bitcoin because we're on Biz and it's discounted.10% nominal returns is a bit high, but almost historical accurate. Based on current P/E rations, we should expect much less in the next decade, but nobody can be sure.
>>61438968What investment vehicle are you using that guarantees an average 10% annual return?

>>61438968>become a millionaire when it costs a million for a loaf of bread
>>61439277I'm also Swiss and today I made +2% in the stock market.Admittedly, via options which I do NOT recommend for a novice investor. But just open a Swissquote or IBKR account and buy an ETF (google this).
>>61438976Inflation is 3% per year and the S&P 500 grows at 7-10% NOT accounting for compound growth. Quit being so myopic.
>>61440204>Inflation is 3% per yearbruahaha
the old people with money have much better lives than the ones who are poor. no a million dollars isn't enough but your life is going to be shitty if you get to 75 and still have to go to your minimum wage job with your feet and back hurting all day so you can afford to pay for cat food to eat. you should be saving or investing between 25 and 40% of your gross income. blow the rest on dumb stuff and you'll be fine.
>>61440223I was wrong, the average has been 3.9% since 1971.

>>61440153>Swissquote or IBKRibkr since they have much better ux and much lower fees.Sq is good if ibkr decides you are not good enough for derivatives/crypto (sq gives you the necessary permissions without asking too much questions) but for a novice I would recommend against seeking this anywayThe only other benefit from sq is if you want to have residency, broker and assets domicile all under the same jurisdiction just to be extra extra safe
