where is all the american farm food going?? there is no way it is making it to be american tables. is it all being processed and modified or just shipped out of the country? or is it just reserved for the elites? doesn't matter if its takeout, "home" cooked, or fast food-- all of it makes me feel fucking funny afterwards. not like sick, well sometimes if its fried and greasy, but like... just fucking weird. its so difficult to explain. almost like my body doesn't recognize it and takes a while to break it down. definitely don't get the same energy i used to remember feeling after eating, or have felt when I'm abroad. fruit is questionable, sometimes its fresh but most of the time something about it is just off-putting. chicken seems soaked in slime, not the natural juices. beef seems play-doughy. vegetables seem fine still. but adding sauce to anything, makes me feel a level of repulsiveness in my bones. hell, driving an hour out of the way to a mediterranean grocery store or asian market seems to provide more genuine food more in-line with how I remember it being. but the grocery store down the street, i swear something is up. i feel like i'm going fucking crazy because i can't pinpoint it specifically but it just doesn't seem like how I used to remember it being for most of my life.
>>61439121I think it's because of how much they make, massive amounts, but they try to produce it cheaply, so they cut corners on standards. Probably GMO also impacts the food quality as well. If you've ever been outside of the US and shopped for food in European grocery stores, the difference is staggering.

Seedlings like pomegranate and avocado, cuttings of other plants starting indoors. Takes 15 minutes of my day to look for bugs and hand water. I feel amazing though.
