Why do millennial business owners have zero desire to build empires?

>know exactly what you want out of your niche market
>don't intentionally fuck it up
Sounds pretty based to me
>>
>>61445521
rather just make stuff instead of caring about whether my overseas basketweaving subsidiary is meeting kpis

Triple A gaming has been bleeding money. Indies and double A studios are slaughtering them in sales.

Let me translate that for you.
"We want no additional management layers who do not advance our bottom line."
"We want to carefully vet our hires so that we are united in our vision."
"We do not want mission creep or conflicting goals."
"We do not want decisions being dictated by short-term investors."
"We do not want to take on debt and become beholden to outside forces with ulterior motives."

Keep in mind this game was made by ex-Ubisoft refugees who watched that company get destroyed by growing too big and being subverted from the inside.
You don't need to be huge to be hugely profitable. Steam earns something like $50 million per employee.
>>
>>61445521
growing too fast can be a bad thing, you payroll and business expenses rapidly bloat and you can very quickly be over your head
with the low sales video games are getting these days because of wokeslop fatigue it's the safe play
>>
Founders came from ubisoft, they want to make games not just coast on vc money.
Anyway, 5 million copies sold.
A game made with passion and without dei hires can make wonders.
>>
boomers are brainless consoomers, we are different
>>
>>61445521
loading yourself up with debt when rates are high is mentally retarded.
>>
>>61445521
Nothing wrong with wanting sustainability as a business
>>
>>61445521
mostly this >>61445612 but also genuine demoralization
Your productive class can only handle so much resistance before they just stop trying. When the first period of ideological freedom you've felt you've had in at least a decade or longer coincides with some of the stingiest interest rates in the last quarter century, you're going to get a lot of people who just say fuck it and stop trying to build. This sort of economic landscape selects for sociopaths and scammers.

>be a millenial business owner
>already a multi-millionaire, company runs like a clockwork
>open /biz/ one day
>read some zoomer faggot OP who owns 50 fartcoins and just watched Dan Pena for the first time
>"why won't already wealthy and succesful people turn their business into soulless corpo hell run by jewish shareholders, and flooded with browns and women?"
Gee, I don't know faggot OP. Build something similar and let me know then
>>
The game was shit though, just a parry/dodge simulator in a fancy wrapper.

Development speed doesn't drastically increase when you add more people past a certain point unless you divide the game up over multiple departments which will give you a jumbled mess of an end product.

Meanwhile Chinamen make 100 bucks and hire 100 more people to expand their company. That's the real reason why China will win, they're just hungry for a win and nobody else seems to be. We're all just doing the work life balance bullshit while they're ripping and tearing

dig into the code of any game and you'll find some combination of spreadsheet management and time-sensitive inputs.

Have you ever done business with the chinks? I have. And they're absolute NPC-tier retards. Only a few of their upper-caste can truly "outjew the jew" when it comes to business. But actually creating something of their own? Real innovations? No such thing coming from chinamen any time soon. They can only produce cheap shit, based on technology they either stole or bought from greedy boomer white CEOs. That's it.

>Build empire
>Have to capitulate to retarded shareholders who force you to ruin your empire to make number go up short-term
>Eventually your hollowed-out ruins are appropriated by someone else trying to build their own empire on your ashes

Doesn't matter who innovates, what matters is who implements the best. Chinese know this, they've invented gun powder but then jobbed to mongols who didn't have it, all because they failed to properly use their innovation. Meanwhile Europe stole their idea and dominated the world with it. Only thing that matters is who does it better, not who does it first

I've seen rapid growth destroy companies and overhead costs do not scale linearly. If you ever can be described as both stable, net profitable after 4 years, and agile your business is in the best possible position unless you anger a larger peer who can eat loses to destroy you out of spite. Still it makes selling a venture to such a whale easier and is often enough for perhaps not fuck you money but a trampoline for the next thing with less pain. Right now big guys have a lot of excess slack and useless eaters that have to be paid for. Depending on the market a ultralight staff can clean house with high pay fueling high motivation.

>niche
People talked about it more on here than probably half of all AAA games combined this past year. They probably spent tens of millions shilling it across the internet.
>>
>>61445521
they'd rather build games
