If inflation is down why are food prices higher?
>>61445950It was never about inflation, Jim
>>61445950Food prices are coming down slowly. "Waah I want instant 2019 prices now!" the economy doesn't work like that and never will.
that pepe, is the right question.
>>61445950Inflation is not down. It only slowed growing.
>>61445977literally not coming down. go look at BLS CPI food prices. they're not coming down.
Bullshit. Essentials are up 30% over 3 1/2 years. Since that war started. Rent more. Houses more.
>>61445979yeah this is the reason
>>61445950lower inflation =/= deflation
>>61445979Stagflation?
check the egg chart
which way do you guys lean?
>>61446021No way out. They hike. They blow it the American side it the carry trade. All those zombie companies out there gasping for air in business models that die without rates super low (and they are still historically). Market finally corrects. The dollar strengthens and export become even less competitive. More tariffs then? Cancel cost savings. The pain has been postponed too long. Recessions are natural. They clear out poorly allocated capital. And the political obsession with making them mo longer perform a function just leads to a greater deeper more intense correction eventually.

Lower inflation just slows down how long it takes for prices to go upWe have dirt cheap gas historically speaking which gives the dollar more purchasing powerOnce the US and OPEC eases pumping at some point with a Democrat president you'll really see what high food prices look like
>>61445950Climate change, war, and several countries have collapsed or are on the precipice of collapse.
>>61445950I can get 10 pounds of potatoes for $3. I am content
>>61445950Eat less avacado toast you little brat.
>>61445950The only way for inflation to go down would be to settle debt and effectively delete dollars, but we all know that this will never happen.
>>61446021Interest rates should unironically be above 10-15%.
>>61445950oh my sweet summer child
>>61445950Waging a cold war on Russia and China is not cheap.
>>61445950>>61445950>If inflation is down why are food prices higher?Because inflation is generally speaking the change in the consumer price index, a broad average of various goods and services. Inflation going down doesn't mean the consumer price index goes down, just that it goes up at a slower rate.
>>61446068Yikes poorfag.
>>61446021Cut rates, but increase energy production. This would negate some inflation while reducing existing debt, and lower the cost of future debt.
>>61446021>home prices will lower when rates are higherWho are they fooling? Zero interest rates and free money is what drove home sales a few years back. Even 1% can make a huge difference on a mortgage.
>>61445950New normal. Get used to it. Affordability was always a democrat hoax
>>61445977>prices can double overnight goy or else the economy would be destroyed!>you want prices to come back down??? that would destroy the economy!economy is a spook
>>61446068>fuck you gettin minekys
>>61445950People are still willing to buy at these prices. Why should stores lower them? What are their customers going to do, starve?
