Same. As a German person who wants to attend I am not interested in tourism. It's not useful information for international guests either as Germany is horrible to travel by train with our terrible infrastructure and Deutsche Bahn that is only known for being late and raising prices every year. And with the location not being announced yet you don't know how far away those suggested places actually are from your actual location. Germany is not as small and well connected as the organizers want you think it is.
>>
>>10008881
That top blouse is really nice. I have a bunch of underbust dresses I've been wanting to get rid off for a while but this makes me reconsider.
>>
>>10008995
Right? To get to any of these different places in a reasonable amount of time, you'd have to blow a ton of money on ICE tickets.
>>
>>10008995
I'm just so confused about this drawn out teasing. I hope it's a great event but it feels like something isn't right behind the scenes. For a smaller event, this sort of timeline wouldn't be so weird but SFE events are historically a big deal, and they've been talking about how they want it to be the biggest ever.
These are events that people travel from all over the world to attend, and I'm worried that things will end up being announced too late.

Considering that December and January are bad times to drop tickets, it's looking like they won't be for sale until February or March, which doesn't give people a lot of time to organise flights accommodation, and time off work.

Given that they've locked in the date surely they have a venue? Or a guest? At least one? Why not knock the tourism pretzel shit on the head and announce something people will be interested in (no offence pretzel lovers). They're really reaching for some of the "trivia" (did u know that this print is based on a fairytale recorded by the brothers grimm??) and I honestly couldn't care less about any of it.

I absolutely appreciate the hard work that goes on behind the scenes for events like this, but something just feels off.
>>
>>10009009
I also just noticed this disclaimer in the latest "announcement"

"(By the way, this isn't a clue about Träumerei's location, most of Germany is accessible by train or car so you can easily take a trip here.)"

What's the point of these? And why are they plain lying about how accessible Germany is?
>>

>>
>>10009052

>>
Not sure if this belongs in the feels thread, but has anyone else felt really underwhelmed by most brands/releases this year? (And most of the last?)
>>
>>10009066
AP's Horror Candy shop is the only release I've cared about in a long time. Baby used to be my favourite brand but I haven't cared for anything they've released in about three or four years now.

I know the quality isn't as great but I've been moving to Chinese brands just because there's an interesting (if sometimes questionable) selection of prints and cuts instead of the same shit over and over again.
>>
>>10009010
>most of Germany is accessible by train or car so you can easily take a trip here
Yeah.... riiiight. Seems like they are not up to date with the current infrastructure situation in Germany. Our national train company the Deutsche Bahn which is responsible for most of Germanys rail system is an absolute disaster and often makes national news for its incompetence. As someone who regularly takes the train, I already got used to delays and cancelled trains on almost a daily basis. But it could get even worse. They are heavily lacking train drivers and even functioning trains, so they are currently thinking about temporary closing or heavily minimizing the operation on some important routes because of it. Not the best time to book a trip by train if you ask me.

I actually suggest renting a car if you can. And if you travel with 2-4 people the costs on gas won't be that expensive.
>>
>>10009066
Depends. Most of the dresses are meh (and I never buy new desu), but Toy Doll Box and Horror Candy Shop have got me griping about my wallet. As for Baby, no dresses have caught my eye this year.
>>
>>10009066
I never cared about Meta before but this year they're literally the only brand that has consistently put out things I like. My usuals (Baby and IW) have been so disappointing
>>

I remember back when moitie was putting out neo gothic arch that a few people asked them if they would release their lace accessories again (namely their otks) and they claimed that they had manufacturing problems with their signature lace and iirc said they were working with leftovers? (not sure on the last part)
Anyways, that was their excuse for not making otks, but their new blouses have cross lace on the jabot, generous amounts too. Not to mention they restocked the neo gothic arch headpieces which also use their cross lace (two types?). So what gives? Do they just not want to make accessories, especially the otks which even nasty pairs go for a lot secondhand? They would sell incredibly well too, so why don't they want to make them?
>>
>>10009066
I bought some IW stuff this year and thought it was nice. Nothing special, but you know what you get and it looks better worn than on the stock pictures; as it is often the case with IW.

Only brand I am a bit disappointed in is VM. They re-releasd almost nothing from the survey. Apparently they re-released the boater hat but they all sold out instantly. I am mad they did no reservation for this, I would have bought 4 colours but no... they just won't let me throw my money at them.
>>

I am selling my otome clothes all of a sudden albeit very cheap. Used to not be able to sell jfash and lolita sold fast. I think it's the season, my otome clothes are all nice things you could layer for fall while my lolita is mostly spring and summer with just a little bit of winter dresses
>>10009066

Meta and general classic (but no one has ever complained about those) dumper here. I'm assuming you're the anon who got excessively annoyed when I posted several releases in a row about a week ago. FYI, I didn't start this thread. Since our discussion, I've condensed several of Meta's releases into grids like you asked. It's almost like I'm not the only person who is interested in new releases. Please chill.

Also, if we're not meant to post new releases into the general where the hell would they even be relevant? If we had a new releases thread I suspect the general would be almost completely ignored.

>>10009066
I've gotten back into lolita this year after a 3 year break and I'm really disappointed with what is available both in stores and second hand, wunderwelt just seems to not have anything good anymore.
>>
>>10009066
I only bought one new thing this year, from the IW sales. I don't tend to buy new but I usually always see a few things from every year that I can put on my wishlist, but so far, nothing.
>>
>>10009066
For the last 2-3 years I haven't even bothered keeping up with brand releases, I find it all a bit underwhelming. I have just been buying some old dresses on my wish list.
>>
>>10008879
I hate all the Chinese and wa pandering. It's kinda cute but I absolutely can't wear this without seeming like a super weaboo.
>>
>>10009234
I haven't heard of the new supplier aside from that one post they made awhile ago about their lace *formerly* being made in shop. If they did find a new supplier that's great though, I just searched through all their fb posts and in the beginning they were receptive to putting out lace otks (before the lace issue).
>>10009237
I searched for a while and couldn't find the direct comments. The others were through dm and no one posted caps, just discussed them in the general around the time neo gothic arch was out. Fb is unreliable for archiving shit but I think I remember a direct reply mentioning manufacturing issues, and this photo indirectly mentioning the use of leftovers/scraps (different types of cross lace because they didn't have their old atelier to custom make lace).

Do you think silk looks cheap too? Just learn the difference between low and high quality fabric.
>>
>>10009332
Notice the date tho. We know that they can do lace since they made the chokers, but they just started making it maybe around that time? It took months. And the original round of headdresses were left over but the new ones are not. They can do the lace now from what we see. It just literally takes time to hand make that stuff.

They haven’t said no to socks but they clearly need to take their time with products with what they are doing and trying out.

Sorry, on mobile. The gold ribbon looks so cheap. I have a lot of complaints about ribbons, usually with baby too, but a $500 dress should not have cheap looking anything.
>>
>>10009386
Sometimes I wonder if it's from dry cleaning, I've noticed that when I clean dresses that I got secondhand from jp and wore once then washed, but they didn't smell bad...
>>
>>10009289
I wonder if the secondhand issue is in part due to the market prices being so low now. I've seen people on here say they don't bother listing old plain moitie because no one will pay good prices for it.
>>
>>10009443
People will buy Moitie easily but you need to stop expecting 300-400 usd for every dress. Market value isn’t that and that isn’t because of slowness.

The only stuff that stays is the overpriced stuff

>>10009471
Is this real? I didn't like that brand because their dresses look cheap for the price and the styling is always lackluster and uninspiring, but this is insane
>>
>>10009386

Eh. It's secondhand. Even narrowed down to Japanese secondhand I've had dresses arrive in all sorts of condition, from being almost brand new (the fabric still felt starched, which went away after being washed), the shirring died, weird stains that don't come out, and one that absolutely reeked of some girly perfume and required airing out for a few weeks but was otherwise perfect (didn't even colour the water when washed).

I mean, it's secondhand. It's not gonna be different just because it's some girl in Asia rather than some girl in the US/Europe. You kind of expect some stuff with it, especially if it's cheap and already worn. That's why secondhand is cheaper than firsthand after all.
>>

My opinion is that it's the fact they have a big name status, moreso than ever. They can put out anything and it's more than likely going to be eaten up, if not by the japanese, then by the chinese. So why be creative if you know what sells?

Classic brands that aren't in massively high demand (I'm not sure about how meta or IW's sales are in china) seem to stay true to their integrity and design things that maybe are hit or miss, but they are unequivocally their own.

Some girl wore the black version and posted on CoF. Perhaps you can ask her about it in the comments?
>>
>>10009359
I did notice the date because that's an example of when they had problems. My point was now they don't have problems clearly, but up until >>10009654 they haven't been receptive to lace accessories (they said wrist cuffs/accessories were not a future release when that ugly floral was put out). They were receptive before the lace issue which is why I was a bit confused, and I was under the impression that the lace chokers were also made from leftovers because they never been restocked (maybe once?). Anyways, I'm psyched for the gloves and I'm buying those the second they come out, then praying for otks!

To further add, I know they aren't 100% ok with rereleasing every popular moitie item (e.g. iron gate and shirring ribbon op) and I'm fine with that, but I'm still hoping that they'll at least rerelease basics like otks because 100usd for years old socks is getting out of hand.

>>10009659
It's a good price considering used ones are rare and the last one that popped up went over 8k yen. I have raschel lace items from moitie and it's a nice quality raschel, can't speak for their gloves but don't fall for the raschel quality meme, it's just a type of lace, embroidered tulle isn't always good quality either (like bodyline's).
>>
>>10009900
Oops my bad, I had a brain fart there. Well, not really since they do a little bit of everything. Meta is in a league of their own.

>>
>>10009363
Not all polyester is shiny. Shine depends on the type of weave used not the fiber content.
>>
>>10010070
Apparently it's ridiculously inconsistent. They claim they're tiny sizes with no shirring, but those Apron OPs were at least equivalent to IW size L

It all seems to be on the large side which is great for me, but not unusual for no shirring items nowadays since most brands got on the L size train. Only VM still makes very small no shirring stuff and their days are numbered.

I have a question for old school fans.
How often can you tell the difference between a true old school dress and it's rerelease on sight?
I often feel I can spot this but I wonder how much I'm swayed by seeing modern stock photos and styling choices.
Assuming there's not some obvious difference like a color that wasn't originally released, do brands really stick to the same pattern used years ago or are there enough differences? Do you have a preference for original old-school designs or do you think the rereleases are just as good?
Pic related is one I feel looks different in rerelease. Karami jsk always looks the same to me though.
>>
>>10010239
They're pretty dead to me now, you either get a lazy painting print for a fairly expensive price ($400) or an actual nice looking dress with good quality lace but who the fuck knows what kind of sizing and puckered hems for $700-1000.
>>
>>10009738
all I can see is the dress Ariel made out of that sail
>>
>>10010316

The key to karami is the fabric, the dress is named because it uses fabric with karami weave. So long as they want to name the dress "karami" they'll use the same weave, otherwise it becomes illogical. And with the same weave making up 90% of what you see of the dress, the dress will tend to look the same, even if the fibre content is a little bit different from dress to dress.
>>
>>10010247
>>10010327
Both good points, but they still don't cater to the fatties as is trending. We even got a size down.
>>
>>10010316
With baby rereleases its usually added petti room and slight modifications on the cut, older baby pieces hold way less petti. dessert op old vs new shows it the best imo, and afaik old hawase, karami op and babydoll couldnt even hold pettis at all while the new releases have a ton of poof room

I think Chinese lolitas is where they make cash these days. And since they have the money and don't care about quality as much those expensive monstrosities is what you get. I miss the days when their painting dresses where below 30000 yen, which was considered expensive at that time. La Fée d'une Fleur rerelease has even doubled in price and I remember whiteknights trying to argue that it has to do with inflation. However if you actually calculate the inflation from between 2008-2018 you will see that the inflation was about ~3% which means a price increase of only 900yen. Combined with with the 2%consumption tax increase since 2008 that would make a total increase of roughly ~1500 yen. So tl;dr: Something doesn't add here.

Old school dresses often had barely room for a petti, Meta is some of my only brand with big skirts but even those were smaller in oldschool era. This has the same look as the old version but allows a modern petti

i tried the stupid questions thread but didnt get an answer. does anybody have any reviews or worn pictures of the btssb victoir shoes or similar btssb/ap rhs?

im looking at a pair in their LL size. i typically wear 24.5cm (the max of their L size) and the LL is apparently 25 - 25.5cm. could i get away with wearing them with insoles?

Aren't their products still made in Japan though? With a lot of ateliers closing in Japan, I can understand how it is now more expensive to produce there (personally I welcome it, I'm going to continue to avoid buying from China).

I own them! I usually wear a 24.5 and the L fits just fine. I have pretty narrow feet, but I don't think this really makes a difference. I don't want to be responsible for you buying shoes that are too small, but in my expercience the L works well.

It's like they're so used to seeing AP (which is understandable as it's the biggest brand) they get confused when they see someone wear a solid IW dress with only 1 petticoat.

Did I say they are all big? Of course there is a variety of types. But I know several people who do use the bigger hoops specifically for max poof with less bulk. Just think its interesting how skirts have gotten bigger and bigger at about the same time hoops became more widespread.
>>
>>10011065
Why do you keep questioning that they'll close down? They said that this would be their last year and they'd still be doing things this year. They're not doing anything surprising, besides not releasing much from the survey.

I think it's nice that they announced it way before actually closing, instead of at the end of the year. Most brands try to keep this sort of stuff a secret until the very end and I hate that I didn't have a chance to visit their stores for a last time. I'm happy for the VM fans that get to see them at an event knowing it'll be the last time.

The way you worded it just made it sound like hoop skirts are only for going "too far" and that you did not understand why someone would wear one. Thats all

I actually wear a hoop skirt under some of my old school for a good low poof look sometimes
>>
>>10011103

>>
>>10010566
Low poof is great and makes coords much more wearable on a daily basis. All those AP fags with their idiot circus tent circumferences are clearly just conlitas.
>>
>>10011176
It depends on the dress how much poof if needs. Some dresses look lumpy and deformed with low poof, even solids. You sound new to make such a blatant statement.
>>
>>10011176
Aside from what >>10011181 mentioned, I think a little more poof is useful for crossover coords that can be mistaken for other j-fash styles.

If your coord is clearly lolita without it, the extra poof is just for fun.

The sizing's huge. I don't mind releases with shirring that goes up to huge but when it's completely unshirred/no corset lacing and 10 cm too big all around it's just going to look unfitting and bad. If you're taller/bigger then there's no real issue.

>one of the following dresses
... ok but how would they TELL if it's the person who stole them (should they not have a profile picture? lots of Japanese sellers don't have pictures, in fact, almost all of them)? how would they not know it's some random other international girl selling BNWT after trying on once, or selling because they realized they didn't like the dress upon receiving it?

It'd be way more likely it was the stolen dresses if it was all of them being listed at once BNWT by the same person. Otherwise, they risk accusing the wrong person. Like, any random lolita could have bought any one of these dresses recently.
>>
>>10011105
Sorry you're just salty that you don't fit anon. I'm 5'8 and have never had an issue fitting any VM dress. I've only had problems with dream girl room jsk because the cut of the underbust is a tad high. There's lots of VM pieces that have more than reasonable measurements as well.
>>
>>10011386
I think that they are aware of who actually stole the dresses, but aren’t allowed to hand out photos or closer information as the case is already at the police.

This seems to be more of a warning to better not buy one of these dresses in the EU for a while if it’s not from someone you know or so.
>>
>>10011407
Good for you? I must have broader shoulders and a larger bust than you. Periodically I check measurements on VM pieces that are up for sale but they almost always would not work for me.
>>
>>10011386
I guess that if a seller was in Germany where the dresses were taken and couldn’t provide some form of proof of ownership before the time the dresses were stolen (eg like a photo of them at a meet, or a purchase transaction) then probable suspicion would fall on that seller.

If the seller was smart they wouldn’t list them all at once and would hold onto them for a while before selling, so it would take long term monitoring to detect.

Any legitimate owner of those dresses and colourways should have no problem with some form of proof of legitimate ownership that didn’t sound dodgy.

NAYRT but I believe that's because classic style dresses are much much easier to make so indie brands rise from every corner. Simple cuts, solids or floral pattern from the local store, vintage inspiration to name a few reasons.

It's easy to understand sweet brands bigger sales 'cause you can't get anything like that from anywhere else so people need to buy from the same brands all the time.

I have over 10 VM pieces in my clothes that I bought directly from them. I would have supported them more before closing down but their releases this year have been kind of meh to me. It also doesn't help that they put a lot of their ugly designs like lazy afternoon for reservation but things I desperately want (like the boater hat) not and they sold out instantly before I was able to get my hands on them. They did that re-release survey but almost released nothing from it. And as someone who's supported them over the years I hate to say this but yea, it's their poor business practices that finally put them out of business, not the small sizes or whatever.

Start planning some 16+ or 18+ only meetups. She can bitch all she wants but if she wants to bring her kid so bad she can start planning her own meets. Also, go to your local mods and get them on board. It isn’t unreasonable to want to hang out with adults and do adult things. There is a time and place for kids and 99% of the time it isn’t at a meetup, except for maybe a kid friendly museum, zoo, or a smaller meet with close friends to a family friendly restaurant.
For reference, I’m a mom, and a mod, and my kid has only ever come to one meetup in the past 4 years of their life, so having a child really isn’t an excuse. If you want to go out in Lolita with your kid, fine, but do it alone or with your actual Lolita friends, not the whole entire comm. if your mods think this is unreasonable then maybe it’s time for new mods with a bit of backbone.

Because for some people, lolita is/was just an awkward growing phase. They jump in thinking, "Oh, this is everything I've been looking for!" then realize it's actually way off-base from their interests. It's embarrassing to admit you spent thousands of dollars on a socially unacceptable hobby you're no longer interested in.

It's annoying when they think everyone is in that same phase, though. This is a legit lifestyle for some of us & that's a-ok.

Milkyfawn just faded into obscurity, and despite becoming a minimalist she doesn't publicly bitch and moan about lolita the way some other girls do, I wasn't thinking of her but she's pretty much the poster girl for lolita turned minimalist now that I think about it.

I'm talking about the girls that suddenly decide not to bother with their appearance or girly stuff at all anymore and then go on like 'ew I'm too old to wear that anime junk now, isn't it impractical to dress like that? How can you have such a materialistic lifestyle?' every time they see themselves or others in lolita. I assume they were conlitas or wannabe efame girls though. There's no way that people that treat the fashion as just clothes would ever do such a 180.

This is google translate fault. The band is Kokusyoku Sumire (black violet), members Yuka & Sachi.

MM has been doing a ton of special orders only for China. I’m steamed.

My comm has a mom that has her kids and husband show up unannounced. If we’re at a restaurant, the family books a separate table, then the kids spend the whole meet screeching and running back and forth between the parents
>>
>>10011992
It's not ~racebaiting~ to point out how racist it is to host a meet where only black people are welcome. If you insert any other race or minority group (trans, disabled, Hispanic, etc.) it still comes off as exclusionary. What's worse was that it was organized publicly, it's no better than people using their local comm page to host a private meet, it's trashy.
>>
>>10011185
I think it's very probable, and if they don't end up on sale all at once the person might have taken them for their personal wardrobe since they're similar colourways. It'd also be harder to track them that way as you wouldn't see them all at once just when the person wears them. I guess it might be worth watching peoples online posts/ comm posts in case they post themselves wearing all those dresses within a short time span. As it'd be unusual to drop that much money in a short period of time.

Although another thing is, if they had no inkling as to who stole the dresses whatsoever, could it be possible the staff were intentionally distracted? In which case there could be another person involved and the dresses shared between them.
>>
>>10011184
Nobody cares if they don't look lolita enough by cgl's standards because of low poof

I'll agree it's trashy to organise it publicly like that rather than as a private thing but I think you're reaching to see harm in it as a concept.

WAIT I THOUGHT THEY BROKE UP
>>
>>10012124
I mean, wear what you want. It's not my life.

Just don't expect anyone outside your comm to understand that it's lolita when you wear a crossover coord with no poof.

If you're just dressing up for yourself & not spamming tags with it etc. it doesn't really matter. You do you boo.

Now I'm curious. I have Jewish family. Has there ever been a meetup for Jewish lolitas in the past? Hanukkah meetups (or it being included within a general holiday meetup, like instead of just Christmas)?

That seems like it'd be more fun to me than ~no non-black/POC people allowed~ because while I understand the concept, like, what about those who are mixed race etc. I think that'd only be appropriate if it was for a specific event focused on black/POC culture or something...
>>
>>10012188
That sounds great desu. I'm neither Jewish nor Christian, but I'd love to host a meet for one of my religion's holy days too. And I'd totally love to go to a meet like the one you're suggesting and experience part of your culture! (and eat the food lol)
>>
>>10011595
Why are pictures banned from those events anyway this is retarded
>>
>>10012116
And we can't exclude anyone right? That's why we let the sissies in too. We can't hurt anyone's feelings.

I really wish we had a group specific for trading that isn't the BST thread. I have so much stuff I'd like to trade but trade posts always get buried under multiple sales-only posts everywhere else.
>>
>>10011955
That's what you think.
>>
>>10012148
I agree. If pocs want to do their own meet that's fine but planning ought to not go down in the public comm since it isn't a general invitation.

Just wondering. How is it different from a 21+ meet?
>>
>>10012334
Are you really unable to see the difference between a meet that may have alcohol, and a meet that excludes people based on their skin colour?
>>
>>10012338
They both "exclude" people. Why do you care so much about being excluded?

One is contingent on skin colour, while 19+/21+ meets are primarily made that way because the drinking age in many countries is either 19 or 21, legally anyone under that age limit can't attend if they're going to a pub/bar, or if they're hosting a drinking meet at home, the rule still applies.

Comparing the two is like comparing apples to legos

You could just say you don't get it.

Too bad you wouldn't be able to do that since now apparently we are doing x race only and x culture only meets

Any girls wear the mens sized roland jacket?

Im considering reserving one but Im not sure if I should go for the men or women size
https://www.atelier-boz.co.jp/products/detail/163 - womens
https://www.atelier-boz.co.jp/products/detail/164 - mens

The womans listing includes measurements but the mens does not for some reason.. plus they say the stock photo for the mens is actually the same photo as the ladies fit.

Im a grl obviously but Im thinking the mens size will be roomier. I have a 96cm bust. But I also dont want it to be shaped like a square and fit awkwardly on me. So if anyone has more experience I'd be grateful. The womans fit Im guessing will be too small for me
>>
>>10012220
Probably because idiots are going to use flash photography no matter what you tell them. I'm assuming some of the pieces are quite old, and that they would like to keep them in as good condition as possible for as long as possible.
>>
>>10011979
I think it would be cute if it was like a lesbian/bi speed dating event
>>
>>10012438
There is no guessing about it, the 84cm bust is definitely 84cm. Unless you never want to button your coat closed, you don't really have the option for the women's size (even the larger releases only went up to 90cm bust if I remember right). The men's size is generally larger and longer all around but you still have a degree of taper at the waist and the ability to adjust it with a belt. I think with 96cm bust you may still be pushing it as previous releases have only gone up to 94-95cm and they don't seem to change much in size year to year.
>>
>>10012220
Photography is banned at almost everything in Japan
>>
>>10011757
Love it, this is what should be shown to people who think just owning a dress is all they need to do for Lolita.
>>
>>10012349
nayrt but.
>mixed race people exist
>multiracial people also exist
there's all sorts of ways it can turn bad if someone is excluded based on their skin color alone, anon.
>>
>>10012452
Thanks for the help! I generally knew the womens wouldmt fit unless for some reason the ran big. But more wanted opinion about the men's.

And thank you for the info about the sizing. So strange they dont have it up yet on the site
>>
>>10012438
Boz is really big even womens size. They are 2-3 cm bigger than listed, also some have shirring. Ihave a few, and I they feel big, though my chest is 92 or smth.

>>10012399
For me that sounded like a small histeria of privileged teens - we have everything to be happy now, but we don't want to! We want to protest and struggle! And while being in very tolerant community it's so hard! Let's make a special privileged meet-up only for the chosens and point that out at every convinient moment.
I am a minority myself and I feel disgusted. Having many "white" friends I can't even imagine I would exclude them out for skin color or religion reason (or them doing same to me). This will never happen to a modern day smart people. We would make parties where everyone feels ok with food and words spoken.

Sorry for my poor english.
>>
>>10012511
Yeah you're wrong about the boz jacket sizes, they're not forgiving at all. Main pieces maybe but Rolands etc are the size you read. Anon up thread is right.
>>
>>10012444
Probably more like, no photos allowed on events with japanese guests, ever.
>>
>>10012493
I really love this comic as well. It sums up my feelings about the whole "is make-up and styled hair necessary" questions perfectly.
And the fact that it's from a japanese magazine even shuts up most "but japanese lolitas don't caaare!" people.
>>
>>10012505
Maybe they can bring back the paper bag test.
>>
>>10012295
I don’t like trades and I only ever see posts with „no trades“ on them. Trades take a lot of trust from both parties, and then on cgl? Hell no.
>>
>>10012596
Same for me, I just hate it when people just wear a dress, socks and shoes and call it a day. Hair and make-up is important as well.
It really helps that it comes from the GLB as well. But even if you look at old snaps, hair was always styled. And being lazy is no excuse as there are plenty of good looking pre-styled wigs.

I'm getting a bit too consumed by social media and the need for approval/likes lately.
I just bought the tree little bears (July,Sophia and Lillian) from Baby for a reasonable price but I just...don't even really need them,I just wanted to show them off on my new purse on instagram and stuff. They're super cute and i'm glad i got them but it's 60$ that could've went on a thing i would wear. I also didn't buy an Infanta dress I like only because it's not brand and thus wouldn't be "as cool" as brand.
What the hell is happening to me,i wasn't like that before
>>
>>10012637
Not only this, but also manners. They matter. And I'm not talking about trying to be a Rococo Princess, but rather basic manners.
I know a small comm that is full of lazygirls, that love to swear, drink a lot, be loud and just be very unladylike. They even take pride in that. Once I attended a meet with them and one girl just took off her sloppy wig, scratched her head and put it on again. Just like that in broad daylight. Her posture and way of sitting down was like a gangster as well. She's the kind of girl to put on an AP set and call it a day.
>>
>>10012641
I know what you mean and there is really only one cure: stay away from social media and go out and wear lolita. Take picture, but don't post them. Spend time in lolita, alone, for yourself.
>>
>>10011637
The dress posted upthread has a 76 cm waist, generally looking at their webstore now most things have size in that range.

The age limit is a good idea. The problem with banning is that she isn't really "shy" to bully other people, spreading shit and rumors and just she's generally an asshole of person. And at the same time she is playing the martyr card and is crying how she is being bullied. Also there are not really mods in this community.

>>10012111
Jesus fucking Christ that's horrible.

I don't hate children per se, but when you have to spend every god damn meetup holding in what you want to talk is just so fucking annoying.
>>
>>10012505
Yes, it would be bad if they were that exclusive about it. But I didn't hear the full story so I see nothing inherently wrong with it. Why are you assuming they are only going off of skin color anyway?
>>
>>10012511
I'm also a minority and I can see the value in connecting with others within my minority. It's rare for me, because unlike people think, it's not immediately obvious on the outside. It wouldn't be to exclude white people. It's to connect to others with similar backgrounds.
>>
>>10012641
I spend a lot of time on social media too, mostly IG but I only buy things I really want.

You just gotta buy stuff you actually like.

>>10012644
Has good advice too.
>>
>>10012008
I know some girls who recently sold their wardrobes and they get repulsed anytime I bring up lolita but they're still super into cosplay.

I'm pretty sure it was just a phase for them and they're trying to bury it in the past with their scene/emo phases.
>>
>>10011950
they're cute
>>
>>10011950

Personally, it’s just a small gimmick of being a bear pretending to be a rabbit that gets me. Like idk why but the fact that you can pull her hood down is kinda cute. But then you get to kumakumya and that’s just a bear pretending to be a bear?!?

More practically, they just make good accessories. It’s a cute plush bear/rabbit with headbows, so it pretty much goes with a lot of lolita themes. And being a purse (albeit a tiny one that can’t hold anything) gives you a good excuse to carry it. One bear isn’t going to suit every single coord, but they come in so many colours and so many ribbon/eye combinations there’s probably a bear out there that suits almost any coord, which means you end up collecting them. Plus even more choices and versatility if you add in the mini matching outfits Baby has been making for them, her yellow and pink friends, and if you’re willing to pin things to her as well.

Added bonus: Baby keeps remaking them, so you don't need to worry about being dated (In contrast a lot of AP’s plush bags feel like they are tied to one or two specific prints), meanwhile the really old Usakumyas have gone so far around it's cool to have a really old Usakumya from the dawn of lolita now. Plus Baby also makes Usukumya & friends prints so if you like them it's easy to get into buying all of the different Usakumya things.
