The back has corset lacing so I feel like the boob loaf can be largely avoided. Seems to be laced fairly tight on that model.

I've got small B cups and tube dresses like in OP look terrible on me, but I also have a fairly small waist/bubble butt. Tube dresses make me look like a shapeless stick and I hate em. I'd prefer more empire waists and sack cut dresses, they just look cuter all around.

>>
>>10029461
I've only ever had a few transactions with undisclosed damage (which I've had on the Japanese market too) but I regularly see wishlist pieces up with parts of the set missing that the seller hasn't noted aren't there. Do they think the fact it's visible in photos counts as disclosure even if they don't mention it? Are they so dumb they can't notice that there are bows on the lolibrary stock photos that their dress doesn't have?

>>
>>10029139
It doesn't help. I'm a big titty anon and find that when the bodice is cut straight but the back has corset lacing/ shirring then it looks terrible. That's when you get the pancake tit effect so popular with fattys.
>>
>>10029612
Really tempted by this, but I don't want to order from Meta directly because of mad customs. Which SS's deal with preorders?
>>
>>10029628
I have an 89 cm bust and have some older IW pieces with the tube bodice/corset lacing that are very flattering on me. And I'm very aware of the pancake affect (and I won't leave the house with boob loaf). I think having a narrow torso and shoulders, and a proper bra, are really the key to avoiding the boob loaf with cuts like the OP image.

Splurge on high quality bras; make no exceptions. And get properly measured. Nordstrom is the only place I trust now when it comes to my undergarments.
>>
>>10029107

Where are you fellow A-cup bitches at?
>>
>>10029643
It must be your torso and shoulders. I'm barely a 30C on a good day (technically between a 28C-D) and I still get boobloaf in IW...but I do have proportionally large shoulders and back

Venus' hamsters are really cute, and her taking care of them automatically makes her more endearing and adorable (I wish she gave them more cagespace though). Jenna Marbles was ridiculously cute in her videos taking care of Ad. I'm surprised that small animal husbandry isn't considered a "lifestyle lolita" sort of hobby since something about females taking care of small rodents is just the cutest thing on the planet.

People with larger wardrobes, how long did it take you to do your wardrobe posts? I got up to 62 mains and 75 blouse/outer this year since I got a new job and pretty much dreading it. Last time I did a wardrobe post was three years ago when my wardrobe was a lot smaller and it still took forever.

Eugh. As someone dealing with rats at my workplace, this is the least cutest and most disgusting shit I can think of.

Cats are where it's at. I like thinking they're spoilt, loved, cuddly and fluffy, and also occasionally kill rodents for fun when they're bored.

>>
>>10029644
Right here. I admit I'm always secretly smug when big tiddy anons complain about loafing or not fitting the bust on a lot of pieces, and how smaller tits generally look cuter in lolita. I'm Asian but I live in a western country, and I spent years angsting about being flat and not filling out the bust on clothes made for white girls. Getting into lolita was amazing because things finally fit me, and were made for my body type. I really hope brands don't ever change that to accommodate western sizing and larger busts. I just wanna have something for me.
>>

As another small-tiddy-chan I’m glad the clothes look good on me but it makes meetups really annoying. All through middle school my big breasted friend told me I look like a boy and would never be pretty, and now that I finally found a fashion I feel cute in my comm members keep telling me basically the same thing indirectly. Every single meetup there’s someone bitching about how Asians are flat and ugly and brand is cut for unattractive child bodies. I’m not even Asian but I’d love to have an itty bitty titty sub-comm just so I could go a single meetup without someone insulting my body type.
>>
>>10029740
don't listen to their vitriol, anon, they're just jealous they don't fit. i'd like to think they might stop if you told them how it makes you feel, but bitches be bitches sometimes.

i also don't know what kind of "friend" would tell you that you'll never be pretty just because you don't have tits, because that's completely untrue. But women just seem to have this weird complex about boobs in general, and shoving their tits (or lack thereof) in other people's faces. Who fucking cares? It's kind of pathetic.

>>10029704
did you get your money back, anon?

I've legit never had damages from japan but every second hand western item i've ever gotten is in complete shambles, smells like shit. Maybe that's rare but oh well. Also CC is not perfect by any means
>>
>>10029613
I think people leave it out because they think no one will notice, or because they bought the item second hand and didn't realise the part wasn't there. I've also been very fortunate with my purchases overall, but when i buy stuff off lacemarket it's almost always stretched, smelly, or there are undisclosed damages.
>>
>>10029703
same desu. lolita made me love my A cup boobs.
>>10029740
I'm sorry man. That's toxic as hell. They're probably jealous you can fit brand. Small boobs are great in my opinion, I really feel fortunate i can fit so much clothes.
>>
>>10029766
Didn't get it back. Didn't try, because a fair bit of my brand comes from CC, so I didn't want to get cut off.
>>
I just went back and read loads of old secrets and milkyfawn's blog, because that's my favorite era of lolita. Now I'm sad.
>>
>>10029612
Ahhh I'm so happy! I'm the one who missed out on the hairclip before. Lowkey wanted them to rerelease it in darkness too, the print is so nice and it would have been nice to have it in both colors. Looks like darkness will now be the harder to get color secondhand.
>>
>>10029772
My western ones have been alright aside from one piece being wrinkled and smelling like storage, but that's just one out of many. Seems like you're unlucky unfortunately.
>>
most of my experiences on LM have been pretty good, but I've also received a dress that reeked of sweaty armpits, even from a distance, and a headbow that had all these blotchy opaque white stains all over that have not come out after stain-treating several times and washing
>>
>>10029785
They're not like baby, I complain about damages and get some money back if I'm lucky. Usually they're very apologetic.
But I also buy a lot from there so...
>>
>>10029703

Wow, you're the same as me then. I'm also an Asian living in a Western country and I'm happy that after many years I've finally found a fashion that fits my body type. Finally, I'm not the one feeling defeated in the fitting room because my boobs don't "fill out" the chest part of a dress. I can feel cute and confident. Fuck those assholes who used to tell me no one would love me because my chest is "flat like a little boy's". I got engaged after almost 9 years being together with my bf.

And yeah, I'm also slightly annoyed when lolitas complain they can't fit because "it's made for microscopic boobs". Japanese brand are catering more to their local customers and Asians aren't known for big boobs as we know. There's a lot of other indie brands that cater to more sizes anyway. Kinda feel happy that classic brands like VM and MM haven't changed their brand sizing either so I'd feel like I have somewhere to belong. Just like plus size girls have their own space, I'd like one where I get to be happy being small.
>>
>>10029806
Maybe so. I do think a lot of western lolitas do have problems taking care of their clothes and cleaning, though. I've seen a lot of threads where people admit they don't want to ruin their clothes, so they don't clean them. I know a few people in my comm with that same mentality. Not sure if that's a problem in japan as well, though.
>>
>>10029697
Same anon, same. I will forever think rodents are gross. Cats are masterrace.
>>
>>10029399
>>10029461

Most items I buy from western sellers smell of perfume or of body odeur/sweat/cigarettes. Just fucking stop it. I rather have the seller stating the item is in uncleaned condition, so I know what I get. The most disgusting items also come from people that I know personally and even some friends. People have no fucking shame.
I also guess that some people legit don't notice their own smell, so after a few purchases like this I got worried about my own sales even though I know I am not a filthy person, and now I clean every single item before shipping it out.

When I buy from the Japanese second hand market, it's not nearly as bad. I never had stuff smelling like BO, only a few cases with perfume smell and some just had this smell of being very old and sitting in a closet for years untoched.
>>
>>10029703
Same! I've been a B cup and taunted about it all my life and about how my body wasn't womanly (small hips, small boobs, small butt, and short in height as well) but in lolita i look amazing. Much more so than those "womanly" girls that struggle into fitting in brand.
Doesn't stop me from being jealous sometimes because of how med/big boobs are hailed as the "best thing" and i feel inadequate/less of a real woman for not having curves
>>
>>10029703
I feel you. I would love to see more western clothes that aren't trying to accommodate entirely for large busts. I'm glad that there are tons of button-ups made for big chests, but what about my below-average chest?
I lost enough weight to go from a DD to a 32B, which is small for my tall frame (5'9), and lolita fits great on me (especially you, Innocent World). I wanted to chop my breasts off before losing the weight, and now I'm caught between wanting to keep them smaller and wanting to fill out western dresses and tops.
Them big tiddy girls complaining about lolita sizing have no clue about how good they have it here in the west. Every store wants to put clothes on their body.
They bought the dress, they're allowed to have it modified to suit them. If I have to take in a western dress, they can have their lolita let out.
>>
>>10029838
Our western culture has taught people that in order to wash clothes, you put them in a machine with soap and walk away. Sure, we might have learned how to sew something in secondary school, but we didn't learn how to handwash our garments. Even stain and spot treatment is something we often learn on our own.
I had to sit down and research handwashing and garment care methods before I washed a dress for the first time. I went and bought a drying rack, a large bucket (no bathtub or laundry sink here), and some gentle detergents and worried the entire way through the process. When I inspected the dress afterwards, I had built the confidence I needed to keep doing it. No one walked me through it, because the people around me relied on machines to do the work. I understand how western lolitas can be so gross- it's hard to know exactly how to handle some of these designer pieces.
>>
>>10029841
This. More cat dresses pls.
>>
>>10029538
No, I just never gave a fuck since my boobs were small enough to not need any maintinence.
>>
>>10029854
Idk but here they thaugth handwashing in middle school. The teacher even demonstrated washing a pair of woolen socks. Also, majority of what I have owned is completely machine washable so it's a poor excuse imo.
>>
>>10029107
>Waist: 80
wtf IW
>>
>>10029740
Aw. I'd tell you how great IW would look on you and encourage you to wear brands my cow tits will never fit in so I would get to see them.
>>
>>10029703
On the other hand, I have cow tits and while I appreciate that like, my boyfriend likes them, I hate them because of the way they make things awkward fitting in lolita and some normie clothes too. I also hate just being sexualized unwillingly - I never wear low cut stuff because I don't want to attract attention to them because I already do with just normal cut items. I don't find them particularly helpful in non-lolita clothing. I just wish that we could all stop taunting people's body types in general. No more taunting girls with tiny boobs who can't help how their body grows, no more harassing girls with huge boobs who can't help how their body grows, etc. I think there's frustrations to be had on all ends of the spectrum and I think ultimately what people need to learn is just basic respect, decency, and kindness. I hate people who make fun of things for being cut for "kids bodies" etc. it's just super rude and I'm always appalled when I see or hear people say things like that. If you don't like it when people make fun of your body, you shouldn't do the same for others. Not saying lolitas are supposed to be lovelies or whatever but the fashion is most fun when we all can just enjoy ourselves and give each other helpful concrit and not just tear down the bodies of people who are, first of all, creating the fashion. Would love to have sizing that accommodates a better range of sizing but you can't complain too much considering the original intended audience.
>>
>>10029716

>>10029714

>>10029772
I've had a ton of items from Japanese sellers (auctions/mercari/fril) that had terrible storage odor or were really mildewed that wasn't disclosed in the listing. I've also had stuff from WW that had overall odor (not like terrible sweaty smell, just old) and clearly hadn't been washed. It's no more normalised for Japanese girls to clean before sending out than it is over here IMO, and I've sometimes got stuff with other minor damage or discoloration.

About 20% of the LM purchases I've made have had undisclosed issues. The worst were a bag that turned out to be peeling/flaking, items with severe pilling, and velveteen that was shedding because it was clearly washed how it shouldn't have been. I've never had more than very minor storage/perfume odor from a LM purchase though.

>>10029844
>the most disgusting items also come from people that I know personally and even some friends.
My worst experience with gross smells was buying something from a local girl that smelled like dog (seemed like hairs had been lint rolled but it hadn't been washed) and not really being able to do anything about it without making things awkward IRL.

that's an interesting take, I also had to learn how to handwash myself. It's easy, but I understand that it can sometimes be scary to wash a new, expensive garment. I wish more people would do research like you.

That's interesting, i've bought 50~ clothing pieces from japan in the past few years and i've gotten about 3 that were bad, but not unfix-able. On the other hand, I've gotten maybe 1 out of 15 good items on lacemarket. I'm sorry your lucks been pretty bad, too.

Maybe it depends on the type of things you order. I think I must have ordered 70 blouse/outer/main from Japanese second-hand in the past couple of years but I've only bought maybe 15 things on LM and got unlucky.

AP doesn't use shit fabric. Just because you don't like synthetics, doesn't make it shit. Not to mention they just put out a glitter tartan in 100% cotton.

I wouldn't complain if it didn't look so wrinkly already just sitting on the mannequin.

Nayrt and I'm not defending the taobao dress, but 100% cotton doesn't mean good quality. It also wrinkles like crazy. And here's an AP dress that's wrinkled on the mannequin
>>
>>10029828
Ayrt, I definitely feel this. I used to also get made fun of by people irl for being flat. Now in lolita, I also get irritated by comments about how lolita is made for "tiny Asian girls with little boys' bodies" and not "real women." Like I'm sympathetic to girls with big busts not being able to fit a fashion they like and I'm sure that sucks, but at the same time I just really want them to keep catering to us only. I finally found something that fits, and I really don't want them to take it away. Big tiddy girls literally have the rest of western fashion catering to them, and like >>10029851 said, they probably don't even know it. It also feels generally entitled for westerners to demand that Asian companies make things for them specifically.

They read your mind... It's just being released; "Omekashi Bear" series or "Dress up Bear". Comes as an OP or JSK.

>>10029988
The one with the Apron is called "Detachable Apron Jumperskirt" on the US ap site. It's available there and one the Japanese site in all three colorways; Green, Red and Navy. Sadly it looks like Paris has sold out of theirs. It's interesting because without the apron it looks WAY more classic and then you add on the apron and it becomes WAY more sweet. So It's versatile.
>>10029353
That one looks so different just with the change in collar color. I really like the idea of making one bold adjustment instead of an entirely different colorway because I often see people complain more about the small details as a reason why they might not get something.
>>
>>10030081
anon, this is also like comparing apples to oranges too. i'm paying for a taobao dress, i kind of expect it to not be as nice. but i honestly have higher standards on burando because they have reputations and years of history behind them. AP frequently releases dresses that are uggo as fuck or shit tier for more expensive than that taobao dress will be. just because it's burando doesn't mean it can't suck though
>>
I bought straight from Maxicimams store recently and holy fuck they gave me a lot of freebies. It was so sweet, I really cant wait to buy more from them in the future.

Im not sure if it was because of a Halloween offer or something but everything they sent me
>multipage color catalog of their items, with full artwork on the front
>A points card for if you were to purchase from them irl?? Its a cute business card with the boxes on one side to count your purchases. Included two stickers on it from what I ordered, to put towards my reward
>A postcard with artwork
>A tin of fucking sakuma drops with their artwork printed on one said that says "Happy Halloween!"
>branded Maxicimam plastic bag

Im used to buying from JP brands but Ive never received this much. Usually just a plastic bag and maybe a post card or something
>>
>>10030085
I never said that just because it's 100% cotton makes it good quality. You can see the fabric density and drape based on the wrinkles, even in your pic vs the taobao one.

>>10030097

>>
>>10030105
I guess I don't see the point in wasting my money on a sub par dress. If I wanted something for a cheap price, I'd buy secondhand. I realize AP does have ugly designs occasionally, but the fabric itself is always nice in my experience. Hence the comment on the fabric.
>>

>>
>>10030125
I'm flat as a board (32AA) and in my mid 30s. When I lived in Hollywood, people would sometimes call me things like "almost convincingly female" and I broke up with a guy I was dating after he started referring to me as his "hot Brazilian tranny". It used to hurt my feelings a lot (I am cis female and also not Brazilian) but in the past few years I've really started liking being flat. Just remember you can wear a padded bra or even falsies if you want, ever cute bralette is basically designed for your body type, and when you're older you will never have sagging teats down to your waist.
>>
>>10030186

Thanks anon! I'll keep working on loving my body. I've never really tried bralettes before. Might be fun to go shopping for them.
>>
>>10030112

I thought I was going nuts being the only person annoyed by the gold lace in >>10029926. It doesn't even look like tulle, looks like one of those shiny organdy lace used for tacky dollar shop decorations. Meanwhile anons are going "oh AP has bad fabric" and yet you can see the cat applique doesn't even seem connected to the fabric, the bottom right has deep shadows where the cat doesn't seem sewn down to the flimsy skirt fabric. Was wondering if I was the only person seeing that.
>>
>>10030102

Just wanted to say fuck you ex and fuck those garbage Hollywood sellouts. I'm glad you came to like your body. I am a B cup but I always felt like I should be bigger because of awful behavior like that. Lolita is so opposite to the norm in a lot of ways.
>>
>>10030217
>Meanwhile anons are going "oh AP has bad fabric
Thats because the original anon talking about the dress only brought up the bad fabric and nothing else quality-wise. I don't think anyone expects the quality to be great, it's a cheap taobao dress (with a cute design tho)
>>

>>
>>10029926
This makes me anxious. Something about it just looks itchy and poorly made somehow, and like that appliqué is going to peel off.
>>
>>10030230

I know they're being flippant and short, but if you read the sequence >>10029977 >>10030085 >>10030097 It does exactly sound like they're saying AP fabric is as bad or worse than this taobao skirt.

For the anon who said "fabric quality is shit" your correct answer should have been "we know that, but it's darn cute and cheap and we're willing to take the lower quality". That would have communicated what you're saying here, that you know taobao is shit but cute shit.

Instead there’s this whole dance around while some anons try and complain about AP quality, even posting a photo where AP’s dress is wrinkled but the fabric actually looks better. And that’s before you even take into account that Japanese brands aren’t allowed to shoop their sales photos but taobao brands can.

Even the one pointing out the wrinkles has a point, are people just not seeing how the skirt fabric wrinkles around the applique itself? This isn't just a dress not being ironed like the AP example, this is the applique distorting the skirt because the applique is too heavy for it, and the skirt fabric is, indeed, shit.

I'd like to believe people know what they're getting into when they buy taobao, but the comments themselves lack the depth that communicates the taobao shills even notice any of these awful quality problems.

They release a lot of wine colored pieces that might be suitable for classic. I dont really know though, it's not a style ive dabbled too much in.

I think they suffer from poor stock photos and their weird mannequin body+head is kind of creepy. But if you can look past it they have some gems. And still made in Japan if thats an important factor to anyone

I don't know why this has come up so often in this thread, it's insanely difficult to find stuff cut for an hourglass body shape in western shops. Most western designers assume people are fat but have no waist. Average tiddy girls, sure, but I used to have to buy work shirts in places like Pepperberry just to get something that doesn't gap at the bust or fit really loose on the waist.

Their blouses are top tier. I have a bolero from them that's also gorgeous but I can't fit it - the Japanese seller had just marked it as MAXICIMAM but it was actually from their Lovely plus-size line and is huge. I wish more plus sized girls in my comm would get stuff from there instead of shoehorning offbrand.

Pic related is on Wunderwelt right now and I really like it but it's 110cm bust.

I feel like the only way to remedy this situation with small tiddy anons wanting brands to keep catering to them and vice versa is if brands actually came in different sizes but I know that will never be the case no matter how much people complain about it

I think they've suffered because their designs come off as outdated and they get forgotten about because they don't have new releases often, but they still have really great basics. I feel like they were a more serious lolita brand 10+ years ago but ended up with more and more of their offering catering to cosplayers and teenagers. Sort of like a more respectable Bodyline, since their prices are cheaper than standard (about 60% of what you'd pay for a new AP/IW blouse). Pity that's still too high to get newbies to consider their stuff, they do these blouses with two kinds of detachable collars and detachable sleeves that are crazy versatile.

No one would really buy the larger sizes, though. AP and Meta are already gigantic, and Westerners seem to buy new the least, so there's no point in catering to us. The Japanese and Chinese are the main customer base, and they don't typically need larger sizes.

Is this a thing? I’ve seen several brands shoop different colors onto pieces to show what all the colorways look like when they don’t have actual samples.
>>
>>10030540
I never wear it but can’t let it go, both because of sentimental value and because I was a dumb teenager who’d never owned nice clothes before so I accidentally damaged it a bit while washing/ironing. It’s still perfectly wearable but I’ve never sold something with damages before and I’m embarrassed. Plus I’d have to drop the price so much that it doesn’t outweigh the sentimental value.
>>
>>10030617
Yeah but Japanese brands don't shoop out flaws and wrinkles and place 1000 filters. Also it's still how the product would look (just in a different colorway). They can't shoop food ads or use fake food either apparently
>>
>>10030544

Mine was pic related, I found it in a secondhand alternative clothing store for about $50. I had been a fan of lolita since like, myspace/LJ days but was too poor to get into it at the time, I was like 16 or something, I was living away from home in public housing and it was probably the roughest time in my life. And finding this dress was the ultimate escape from my shitty life. I had never seen a lolita or actual lolita clothes in person before. So i bought it and wore it all the time, I was ita as fuck, sure. But I still own it and wore it just the other day. I've thought about selling it cos although it still fits my oldschool wardrobe, an all-pink coord is a bit sweet for me, but I just style it with striped socks and a tie blouse to make it more punky. It also got a few stains over the years so I've dyed it a darker pink, it came out really nice actually, as the waist ribbons amd corset lacing remained the light pink so it's actually easier to coord with diff shades of pink so its not as cutesy. Anyway this dress holds so much sentimental value to me, I could never sell it. It gives me those happy floaty lolita feels just by looking at it, and it's a reminder of how far I've come and makes me appreciate all my hard work to get out of that shitty situation.
>>
>>10030691
It had a rise and fall as a general magazine trend in Japan. Most of the mook gifts are tote bags, and you can only use so many, so I suppose sales declined after a bit.
>>
>>10030786
That's a really sweet story anon. I'm glad you're doing better. I always look for Lolita at secondhand alternative stores and never find it, but it's nice to know someone found something when they really needed it.
>>
>>10030808
Makes sense. I have so many free tote bags and makeup bags I don't see any appeal in paying for them, even if it's burando.
I felt the AP one with an actual purse looked too cheap. The baby one with the blanket thing was neat, but again I didn't see a purpose for it other than burando and it's cool to see it in a store if you don't live in SF.
>>
>>10030808
Mooks are always popular.. the stores are always filled with them but brands seem to rotate.

This seems very different from your usual, AP.
>>

Adding on to the MAM love- I visited the Harajuku store and the shop lady was super sweet and spoke perfect english, so it made it really easy for me to browse! She also gave me a bunch of free stuff even though I didn't buy anything at the time.
>>
>>10030928
i love this so much and i'm one of the anons who bitches about ap not being the same as it used to
>>
>>10030928
This feels like the first innovative print I've seen AP do in two years.
>>
>>10030928
Wow, I really like this and for the most part, I don't like AP. This print gives me Pagan/Witchy vibes. I may have to buy this print.
>>
>>10030928
The print is very cool but what is that fabric? Looks kind of shiny and weird
>>
>>10030928
Could you take any other pictures that are available for it? Thank you. Interested in the ears as well.
>>
>>10030955
It looks like an organza overlay, and the print is printed onto it and not the fabric underneath.

I don't know which one I should count as my first dress because the first one that I ordered took weeks to ship and I already managed to receive another dress (Milky Planet) meanwhile. Either way I'm not going to sell because I love them both so much. They don't really have a special sentimental value to me for being "the first", though.
>>
So gulls, what do you think about next year’s SFE event being in the middle of nowhere Germany? What guests do you think they’ll have?
>>
>>10031105
I like that it's not slap in the middle of a city. Rudesheim am Rhein barely has a population of 10k, and I really think that's more suited to a Lolita event/holiday than a big busy city. The town seems pretty interesting and cute, some nice museums. It's not like it's in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, it's close enough to Frankfurt.

I'm excited to see what guest they announce today. They just let slip on FB that they're announcing another guest next weekend too? I was so salty about how secretive everything had been but I really feel like it might've been worth the wait.
>>
>>10030982
Can you imagine if this was printed velveteen? Hnng
>>
>>10030928
I can barely believe this is AP, I'm really impressed.
>>

Ohhhh f yeah

>digging up something from 13 years ago
It's obvious that MAM changed their brand direction to focus more on genuine Lolita Fashion. This is in no way comparable to Bodyline, who never really "got" the fashion, their pieces were way too hit and miss and their quality left a lot to be desired.
>>
>>10030928
It looks like a kawaii version of those howl at the moon wolf t-shirts. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
>>
>>10031153
It's a good thing Anon
>>
>>10031134
This. I'm sad that they don't seem willing to do it anymore even though I've had no issues with their past screen printed velvet pieces. I'm guessing it'd cost too much to produce it in China and Japan no longer has the ability to do it at profitable prices anymore since those were the pieces made in Japan.
>>
>>10030928
Wishing I hadn't spent all my money on the ctp mto because holy hell...NEED
>>
>>10031163

>>

Looks like Taobao.

It's still linked from their homepage. If you've seen their old website in the archives and their G&LB spreads from way back then, they obviously had way more of a lolita/punk focus in the early 00s than they do now.

Have younger people just stopped donating to thrift stores and use Depop etc instead? Or is it the wrong time of year for people to be clearing out? I went thrifting today in an area full of students and the charity shops were still mostly old 90s/00s ugly patterned polyester blouses and old lady clothes nobody wants, pretty much no newer trend stuff to be seen. When I lived out in the sticks years ago I'd specifically go to ones near universities because they usually had better stock, but not today.

It's rare for me to find loliable stuff second-hand but to find no modern items at all surprised me.
>>
>>10030928
Where did you get this because I'm desperately trying to find more information about it and I'm getting nowhere. Name? Estimated release date?
>>
>>10031196
It has been like that for almost a day
>>
>>10031196
thunder only happens when it's raining, players only love you when you're playing, lolibrary's only down when you need it to work
>>
>>10031199
Because people are broke A.F. and need to get money somehow. $5 back on a top is a lot better then giving it up for free at goodwill
>>
>>10031223
I just can't imagine that people are successfully selling everything that way. Usually listings of basic items like jeans or tops or stuff that isn't in like new condition sit around forever because ecen if you only sell it for $2 the shipping pushes the price to buyers up a lot so it's only worth selling statement items, branded goods or coats.
>>
>>10030928
I love this but what the fuck is wrong with the wolves

why are they so chunk
chonk woof
3/10

I'll still probably buy it anyways
>>
>>10030928
I've been dying for wolf themed prints. I'm stoked as hell. I just hope it doesn't sell out before my money comes in.
>>
>>10031199
I take my old stuff to consignment thrift shops like buffalo exchange or rag-o-rama, not sure if those chains exist in other cities but I usually go there first because that way I can at least get store credit for my old junk, and then whatever they don’t take ends up at goodwill
>>
>>10031213
Its in the new ap winter collection mook, not a lot of scans are out. Cant find any other info either.
>>
>>10031153
The print is nothing like those shirts aside from wolves??
>>

>>
>>10031233
I agree with you anon, I don’t get it. The shipping and fees on depop would eat any profit you made by selling things that cheap. I only bother to resell items that are worth buying. If I’m going to price something at $5, it’s noy worth buying
>>

Does anyone have news on the MMM x Krad Lanrete? Anyone at the Girlism event know anything?
>>
>>10031396
I'd genuinely offer contact info, but I don't wanna turn this into the friend finder thread. Fleetwood Mac penpals? I tried getting tickets last month bc they're playing in my city but they jumped up to way over the price of new brand.

sage for irrelevance

How roomy do Meta’s printed dresses tend to fit now? I’m tempted to go for the Grimoire MTO, but some of their jsks I’ve had were just too large overall for me. I’m 5’/152cm tall for reference and have a 66cm waist
>>
>>10031199
>Depop
I'm not sure where you're located but Mercari and Poshmark have a huge user base.
>>
>>10030928
Eh. It's "unique" for AP but that fabric is 100% taobao shit.
>>
>>10031134
>>10031163
I'm seriously sad that it's not printed on velvet. It's just screaming that it needs that and it'd make the print perfect. Prints like this and Horror Garden really need it.

I wish AP would understand most of us would be willing to pay the absurd price for nice velvet.
>>
>>10031488
Where have you been? They've been using organza constantly now. They even had it as an overskirt on their older screen printed velvet pieces.

>>10031492
Horror garden definitely! I'd be willing to pay $400-$500 for these new prints on velvet. Sadly the last one they did was Victorian tassel which didn't sell well at all...
>>
do you prefer jsks or ops more? i've found myself purchasing more ops than jsks, but i keep buying blouses and can't wear them together.
>>
my wish for lolita in 2019: durable, real leather bags for sweet lolita with the same cute, creative designs that make me love brand bags
>>
>>10031546
Jsks by far, ops just look weird most of the time. I hate the ones with little puffy sleeves. If the sleeves are longer they're ok but I don't like the lack of versatility.
>>
>>10031546
I love the look of long sleeve ops but I never go for them because my shoulders are too wide

I always buy jsks for this reason
>>
>>10031546
JSKs. I like the look of OPs but nobody is releasing the OPs I want, long sleeved oldschool gothic with puffy sleeves. Agree with other Anon, I hate short puff sleeves, if they are banded instead of shirred I won't even be able to wear them. Plus I hate the trend of no waist, sack cut OPs or shirring. Give me a tailored OP with corset lacing any day, shirring looks tacky in gothic
>>
>>10031546

I've been really digging OPs these days, but I still have to go with JSKs for being more versatile for dressing up or down.
>>
>>10031546
OPs, for the most part, mostly because they're easier to wear on a regular basis, i.e. instead of choosing a blouse to match, I just throw on an OP and most of my coord is done. Makes daily wearing much easier. I do like JSKs too though.
>>
>>10031546

If you really love the blouses and want to highlight them, how about adding a few plain IW skirts/jumperskirts? With the skirts being plain it allows the blouse details to stand out and be the main focus of the coord, and you can keep recycling the same plain skirt/jsk with different blouses.

I generally buy jsks because the area I live in doesn't get all that cold, so anything long-sleeved released in fall/winter I'd buy the jsk of and coord it with short sleeves/a lighter blouse instead.
>>
>>10031546
I definitely prefer OPs, so much quicker to get a coord together and I dislike the added bulk of blouses under JSKs

Occasionally I’ll buy a JSK if I really like the print and there’s no OP that I like

>still using "taobao" as an insult
>>
>>10031492
When they were asked about rereleasing one of their old velvet dresses they specifically said the cost was too high. Maybe some people will put down the cash for it but it sounds like overall it's not profitable for them.
>>
I saw some ads for "light lolita" which i assume is another glitzywonderland/taobao lolita reseller.

I really like the butter cookies dress from "baby ball" but i cant find any review or feedback from baby ball. Does anyone have any info on their other dresses or anything?
>>
>>10031583
Me too anon, but I think the only way it's going to happen is if I fire up my sewing machine. I just can't get over hating pleather.
>>
>>10031583
Absolutely this.

Also more thick, good-quality cotton print releases from big sweet brands. I'm so sick of polyester.
>>
>>10031546
I like long-sleeved OPs but I also have a blouse problem, I have a lot I bought because they have nice details but don't end up coording. More than half of my mains are still JSKs though because they're the easiest to buy.
>>
>>10030928
Finally a lolita take on this!
>>
>>10031546
I'd prefer OP's but they rarely fit comortably. I'm a tallfag with broad shoulders, so for the classic brands I usually have to opt for the JSK version which sucks a bit because I'm also not a big fan of blouses and wearing everything with boleros gets old quickly.
>>
>>10031730
Then make it a high priced MTO. You can't really think those ugly OTT dresses got a lot of buyers.
>>
How do I decide what to cull from my wardrobe? I don't wear lolita nearly as much to justify the number of main pieces I have, I really need to downsize but I love everything too much. It pains me.
>>
>>10031918
do you have any real reasons to purge? If it's not a financial strain maybe try approaching Lolita like you would a figurine or art collection.
>>
>>10031918
You could try doing KonMari and actually trying everything on. Trying stuff on in person motivates me to sell what doesn't fit well, feels uncomfortable or looks awkward on me.

Can be bad when it works in reverse though...I tried on all my sale pile and ended up keeping a couple of things just because they had amazing fit.

Also when you have beautiful coordinate photos of something as a record it can be easier to let it go.
>>
>>10031833
This is such a reach. People who love memes are such idiots.
>>
>>10031107
That sounds perfect, I live in the US and my comm totally ignores all the cute little historic towns/ cities in favor of stressful big city locations that are hard to get to
>>
>>10031921
Just running out of space. I don't have any financial worries but most of my dresses are sealed away in plastic boxes, which makes me sad. I feel like I'm not giving them the love they deserve.

>>10031926
I'll try doing that, thank you!
>>
>>10031968
You could also try organizing by season. That way you only have the dresses you can wear out of storage.
>>
>SFE ticket announcement
>doesn't mention any prices
>first round tickets on sale Nov 24
>first round for past attendees, vendors, donors, volunteers only
>leftover tickets (if any) offered to everyone else after

I am so nervous about not getting tickets for things to begin with, all this is making me lose hope fast.
>>
>>10030928
I know a fat lard, who says she was raised by wolves, that’d love this.
>>
>>10031988
Good luck anon. They just posted another announcement making the whole ticket reservation procedure sound even more BS.

>To register for tickets, please email ... stating your name, any past SFE events you have attended, if you have attended with your brand or donated to any past events and whether you have ever volunteered for a SFE event.
> We will email you back before tickets are on sale on the 24th of November to let you know if you have qualified for the initial ticket sale and the ticket link. Tickets that do not sell out will be made available to everyone who registered.
>>
>>10032033
I know I probably sound like a whiny entitled shithead but I just don't understand why they're making this so complicated and exclusive? I count myself lucky that I might be able to drop a lot of $$ for tickets at short notice no matter the price, but it's still not ideal, and not everyone is so fortunate.

I'm not hating on SFE, I've wanted to go to an SFE event for many years and their previous events always looked wonderful, I'm sure this will be amazing, too. But it's almost like they don't want anybody new coming along. I feel weird about that.
>>
>>10031988
I'm having to budget myself now for the next few weeks and I might not even be able to get tickets after all this. WTF, SFE?

>>
>>10031797
seconding a return to cotton, or even cotton blends
I’m so sick of flimsey poly crepe that snags when you breathe on it
>>
>>10032108
Oh well shit, hope you're doing better now anon. They released some lace OTKs if that helps
>>
>>10031797
The cotton dresses are lined with polyester so I’m not really sure why people are so obsessed with cotton. It just wrinkles easily so most lolitas who can’t be bothered to iron look like trash... and then it’s not even breathable which is the main selling point of natural fibers.
>>
>>10032233
Because it's more durable. If you're mostly buying jsks, the lining isn't as important as you can choose a cotton blouse/cutsew and the majority of the lining will be against your petti.
>>
>>10032343
To be fair to polyester chiffon, it's easy to wash and less likely to fade or colour bleed.
>>
>>10031975
But the vast majority of dresses aren't seasonal. You can wear berry prints in winter with a coat. You can wear velveteen in spring and fall with short sleeves or long depending on the weather. There are a handful of prints I wouldn't wear year round. It's a strange idea to me that you would consider alt fashion seasonal, nothing in lolita besides the wool coats and capes is truly seasonal
>>
>>10032359
I change the fabrics I'll wear and colors. I like wearing the velvets and tartans in winter and the berry prints in summer. Sure you don't have to, but since I have a larger closet, it increases the chances I wear everything and I don't continue wearing my favorite dress over and over. I also think I'd get way to hot to ever consider velvet in summer.
>>
>>10032343
It’s not more durable though. Polyester is the fabric that’s more durable. It lasts longer, doesn’t fade as quickly, can be handled more roughly, and it’s also stain resistant. Maybe you are referring to a certain type of fabric weave that’s more delicate? But talking about fiber content polyester is better in terms of durability.
>>
>>10032476
I'm referring to AP's polyester. I agree on the fibers themselves being durable considering it's plastic and takes years to biodegrade, but AP polyester weaves will continue to have pin holes and snags that I can't remove.
