Let's get a game going. All jfashion styles welcome!

How it works:
>Anons request a capsule wardrobe with any requirements they desire (style, theme, color, etc.)
>Other anons may post a collage of a capsule with those requirements
>Capsules should be at least able to make a unique outfit every day for 5 days. Beyond that, it's your call.

Good luck, have fun!

A capsule wardrobe for someone who wants to look like a character from an old fairytale book every day. And by that I mean no border prints, no overly cutesy motifs.
Any colours of your choice! You could even do a dark version.
>>
>>9684320
Plan on making one for y’all but here are some protips for lolita specifically.
Solids are more diverse than prints, JSKs can mix and match more than OPs. Matching lace colors help a lot. Make sure everything goes with a few pairs of shoes. For a “realistic” capsule consider options for all weather, and multi use items (2way clips, clip on brooches for hats, detachable sleeves, etc). For that extra extra mile, show the same hair type done different ways and a few makeup items in different styles.

What in the world is modern styled lolita? The style is inherently based on fashion styles from the past, the most "recent" of which is the 50s.

I tried and then i got lazy and gave up. But basically a lot of APs velveteen pieces look really nice together. It depends on how strict your capsule is.

If you insist anything added must match all three dresses, then it’s just white blouses, white legwear, gold/white shoes and gold/white bags.

If you’re adventurous and feel like pushing odd colour combos, pink goes well with all three, but it’s kinda shoehorny so you’ll have to balance the outfits. You can add matched pink set — cardigan or bolero, shoes, bag and some small hair bow. The red dress would probably be fine if you coorded it in all pink from head to toe. The black dress and the blue dress would still need white legwear and maybe a white blouse or dickey showing from under the cardi/bolero.

If you’re willing to drop requirements even further, you can find stuff that fits two dresses, like black works well with red, so adding black shoes, black bag and some black headwear will work with the black dress and the red dress (red dress most likely still needs white legwear and blouse).

The blue dress and pockets embroidery share curly metalic things, so you could splash out on heavy metal jewellery for both, but it wouldn’t work so well for Magical Etoile.

So…. pretty much a lot of directions to go in. I guess if you really pushed for “everything must match everything” you could probably still do a wardrobe with like 5 different white blouses with different types of sleeves and collars and still get a lot of different looks.

Okay! So this was too big to put in one collage. I tried to get enough main pieces for two weeks of work, just to show how you might do this :)

For reference, I wear this style to work (in fact a several of these pieces are literally in my wardrobe). I work at a stuffy bank and have never had issues. In fact, I'm usually told I look very professional. Just be smart and aware of your surroundings, like with any other style.

First up, I worked with black, bordeaux and navy as main colors, with grey and mustard for accents and cream as a neutral.

I keep all my main pieces at least 45cm long for work, many of these are 50-55+ cm. Make sure you have a good mix of colors with several in your main pieces.

The biggest issue I've had is finding work appropriate tops. Stick with very subtle brand tops or normie tops with a retro vibe. Same goes with shoes.

All of these blazers are brand, although you can easily find normie blazers that work as well. I actually prefer second hand designer as they tend to be better quality and can be very cute. Keep brand coats short to avoid floppy bottoms not supported by a petti.

Hair accessories are pretty easy, really. Stick with small barrettes or hats. Pearls are a nice accent and can go with anything really.

Get tights in every color imaginable. Try to get some print tights and textured tights to mix things up as well.

I would recommend getting one nice leather purse that goes with everything. Kate Spade might be a nice match, depending on the style.

It's really very nice wearing Jfashion to work if you keep it smart and sensible. Good luck!

I think I would describe this as kitschy, kind of pop/retro styled lolita more than modern? Modern makes me think of like sharp lines, minimalist, avant garde kind of thing that wouldn’t really mix well with lolita. This I think is fun and creative, even though I wouldn’t wear it necessarily.
>>
>>9687448
I’m not looking for everything to match every main piece. So I’m definitely bending the rules of a strict capsule wardrobe. I would just like it to be somewhat cohesive in that some of my accessories and secondary pieces can cross over.
I just don’t want to feel like I have 3 different wardrobes for 3 separate pieces with no common threads

Bless you anon, this is basically my current wardrobe (navy/brown/ivory + accents of bordeaux/peacock/teal) minus a proper amount of blouses/blazers, so it's super useful to see my options laid out like this. Thanks for your hard work!

This isn't bad for a newbie!

There are a few items I wouldn't include. I'm not sure what you would want to wear the toeless shoes (they look like slippers?) or the creepers with. The bunny purse is also a little odd...

Overall, the styles are a little all over the place and I'm not sure there's enough support for each piece to wear it more than one or two ways. It's not a bad set of items but I wouldn't exactly all it a "capsule wardrobe." Honestly, this looks more like what you would wind up with if you just bought things you like in a certain color scheme as they came up.

More blouses and main pieces would help, as well as having a better style focus. Try making outfits with the items when you look at them. Can they be worn 3, 4 or 5 different ways? Do all those ways make sense and make a unique outfit worth having?

Thanks for contributing, though! It's a good start.

Thank you for the concrit.

I thougt you can wear the AatP JSK with all of the tops. The Moitie JSK with the bolero, blue top or white blouse. The skirt could be worn with any of the tops too. The ouji coord I'm not a fan of desu but I wanted to include one for versatility/different occassions, I included a cutsew dress and slippers (to wear at home) for the same reason.
I think the 1st and 5th coords are my favorites. It would probably look more coherent if I'd used more Moitie but I got bored of that quickly.
Why can't you wear the white shoes with anything?

Pic related is the 5 coords with 1 dress thing like >>9684771 said
>>
>>9688909
Okay! so more spefically you need to consider cuts and styles in addition to just colors. for example, the neckline of the blue cutsew won't look right with either JSK, especially the AatP one. The AatP JSK also won't look right with the black blouse with the white tie (both because of the cut and the styles clashing).

another example would be your bolero. it's your only piece of outerwear, but short sleeved and won't fit under both of your white blouses or your OP. style wise, the bolero doesn't look quite right with the black and white top. this would really limit outfits with your skirt, which has to be worn with a top under whatever outwear you may have. you simply wouldn't be able to wear outerwear with your OP all together.

the creepers are far too casual for the elegant gothic pieces that make up much of your wardrobe (as well as the bunny purse). it would look like wearing sneakers with a ball gown... and not in a cute way.

All of this isn't to say that your taste is ugly or that you can't make nice outfits out of it! just that there is room for improvement.

Ah this image is goals~ That Vento Virginal OP is a dream dress of mine, someday, someday.

A good short sleeve blouse option I think would be the newish Steiner blouse. (You can sadly gaze at it's sold out page on their website...) And I think the Sheryl Meta set is a good substitute for D. Walkure if you want to step down a rarity/expense level. I'm so sad right now that I've overspent this month with secret santa/other secondhand gets/makeup sales and I really can't afford to go for the one on Y!J. I haven't been looking for it until recently though...is it a "pop up once or twice a year" item like I was thinking so I can wait or much more rare and I'd be a fool not to buy it and just take a hit?

Anon, I decided to take on this challenge.
I gave it a really hime-ish vibe because the Pocket Embroidery asks for that feel, and the other dresses will look pretty nice anyways and hime is love.
Colors are white, gold, black and sax.
Some extra comments:
>white blouse has removable sleeves so it's extra practical
>AP white cardigan double as a comfy cutsew for more casual coords
>was too tired for proper accessories but choose the same feeling/color scheme and you'll do great
>diamond socks per theme: Harlequinade (self-explanatory) + circus and such on Magical Etoile
>you can use the belt on Harlequinade on top of Magical Etoile to make the sax pop even more (if it's removable)

Nayrt, I personally think that that the closet you put together was pretty cute, and since most of the pieces have black in them, you can kinda use shoes and bags for most of them, so for a regular closet and as a closet with variety I think it's fine
BUT, like the other anon said, not the point of a capsule wardrobe
The whole point is to have items that can go together, so you can create several different outfits with the same dress/skirt. I think every accessories should work with AT LEAST two main pieces
And having 5 main pieces and only two blouses (I know there's technically three, but two are super similar so I'm only counting one of them), two pairs of socks and one pair of shoes doesn't make a lot of sense either for a capsule wardrobe

Not trying to be rude, but it feels like you don't really understand the point of a capsule wardrobe, and that's okay, but trying to defend it isn't going to change anyone's mind

Also, I work at a bank. Blazers are encouraged and tights are perfectly normal.

Anon posted two photos and even said >>9687465 "too big for one collage."

Can you please read the thread before you try to be an asshole?

A good attempt as any but that bag won't really work, it's very sweet compared to the mostly classic pieces that you picked. And that tulle beret is kind of ridiculous.
>>
>>9697465
I don't think the shape of a bag makes it 100% one substyle over another. Also I love the tulle beret 1v1 me m8

Because star bags go perfectly well with classic, truly.
>>
>>9697471
Novelty-shaped bags rarely ever work for classic. That star one is definitely too sweet.
>>
>>9697471
might as well add a pony bag too then

>implying this one unrelated release means the star bag matches the wardrobe you put together

This proves nothing. She isn’t wearing s novelty bag.

The only time I see them work in classic is the violin bags or the book bags. Honestly I think the star purse could work but it’s a little /too/ cartoony. Maybe something a little more toned down?

i think the star works with this angel wardrobe! i would never put it with anything more classic than this collage but in this case i think its an exception to a general lolita rule because the all white wardrobe is very simple, sort of generic and not full classic lolita. id call it shiro lolita with a slightly sweet influence? and its definitely true to the "angel" theme and so is the bag in my opinion!

Pic related would've worked better imo.

I think it's really dumb to be so anal about separating classic and sweet items. Nobody does that irl.
>>
>>9697571
Actually yes, people do this, or the ones that care about looking good do in any case. This isn't being anal as it is basic coording skills.
>>
>>9697537
With all the white in the wardrobe it's not like the shape of the bag would really stand out that much.
>>
>>9697571
it might not be completely ita, but mixing substyles looks off most times. your coords probably don't look very polished desu.

Request: capsule wardrobe for work for someone who loves pink AP Barbie Lolita, like pic related! Colors I am looking for are pink (whatever shades you think would be best, as I realize that this will look VERY different from the princessy stuff I like) black, and white! I’d love to see how you would translate this aesthetic into something suitable for work!
>>
Can someone please help me with a capsule wardrobe of pic related? I look bad in white and red, and good in baby blue and green. I don't wear OTT. Things that aren't too delicate/are good for daily wear would be great.
